watched this at the la premiere of the film with sydney and her dad in the audience lol it was quite the experience. damn that ending blew the roof off the place

This movie actually marks the third collaboration between Sydney Sweeney & Michael Mohan. They previously worked with each other on both Everything Sucks (2018) & The Voyeurs (2021).

Hey I admitted I'm not a very religious person.
Weird how I've been reading Clive Barker's Weaveworld that has a character called Immacolata in it, then this film comes out.
I had no plans to see Late Night with the Devil but your review convinced me. I'm glad I saw it. It was excellent. I'm very interested in seeing what those filmmakers do next.
Maybe I'll check out Immaculate next.

Did anyone notice they play the soundtrack from an Italian horror “The Red Queen Kills Seven Times?” I literally wanted to clap at that moment. Love to see the appreciation for Giallo films in modern movies.

So happy you loved it! I went on Thursday and felt the same. Sydney did a fantastic job! I love that she auditioned for it in 2014, and eventually came to be a coproducer on it once it finally got made!
The last 30 minutes or so completely shocked me but in the best way possible. The ending was perfect too!

@@beastofdarknesss5822 it’s got original vibes with some very cool STOPMOTION dare I say effects…but reminded me a little of a really cool horror film from the early 2000’s called May for its unique Indy feel as well.
Immaculate although predicatable in certain parts, the road is very engaging and the ending is fucking awesome. My only nitpick is Sidney's character said in the beginning she doesn't understand Italian but later somehow she understands what they are saying without a translator.
Yeah I loved her in this.
A good thing I'll say about Madam Web. The cast, rather than bashing the criticism, like so many in Hollywood does now a days, they owned up to it. As such, makes me more willing to check out something with them that maybe has a better script, and if this does indeed have that, sure, I'll check it out. However, I will point out the timing, how close this comes out to the movie The First Omen, which sounds like a similar idea. Anyways, thank you, Lee.

I double billed this with Late night with the devil! And was very very surprised with it. I went in with low expectations as I’m not normally a fan of religious horror. I won’t post spoilers but I was happy that even though it looked like it was a certain type of movie from the trailer, it was something else. It also had great imagery and was a beautiful looking film. But it was more than just style because of the story and characters. I’m glad after a very rocky start to the year movie wise, we are now starting to get some great movies. My top 3 so far is 1. Late night with the devil. 2. Lisa Frankenstein and 3. Immaculate

It's crazy to think that Sydney Sweeney appearing in a random episode of Disney XD's Kickin' It & the series finale of Pretty Little Liars to one of the best actresses of this or any other generation.
Yeah she came out of nowhere!
Just seen it and loved it. Reminds me of Talk To Me from last year. Go in not expecting much and half way into the movie thinking this is brilliant. Sydney Sweeney absolutely nailed it. Loved the ending literally because of her performance. Two thirds of the movie is disturbing horror and the last third is scary horror similar to The Descent.

Monasteries are where the monks live. Nun live in Nunneries and Convents. This movie sounds interesting. But then again I like all horror movies since I'm a horror fan that's not too hard to please. Too bad there's no theaters around here anymore they closed down. So now I always have to wait for physical to see a movie. Good review and cool video Lee!👉🙂👈
I feel like horror movies with religion as a big theme are usually boring and slow to me for some reason. Seems they can be hit or miss, but I’m looking forward to giving this one a shot! Great review as always, Lee!

Gave me House of the Devil vibes towards the end only the protagonist had a choice in the end and i feel she made the right one. Mia Goth has the end credits of Pearl, Samara Weaving has her moments in Ready or Not, the chick from the Decent. And now Sweeney made her mark with that ending. The gutteral scream she makes for about 2 min was great.

I'm intrigued to see this movie, even after seeing the trailer for it.
The twist was definitely unexpected.
Finally saw it tonight and was quite pleased. Sydney Sweeney shines in this role, and I'd be happy to see what else she can do in this genre. A couple of teenage girls were in my row and it freaked them right the hell out, which I think is a good sign. I can see why it has certain Christian groups angry, but while it may have benefitted from a few extra minutes of fleshing out (no pun intended), I enjoyed it with a grin and relished that final shot. 8/10.

Honestly this movie sounds really captivating as a Christian myself who just happens to be into horror movies pretty deeply and I will say, when you said this movie is only super violent when it needs to be and you think it works pretty well that way Lee.
I think for me personally, movies can be quite a bit creepier in the horror genre, when they rely more on imagery and tone and only get super violent when they absolutely need to be to get their point across, unless like you put it it’s a cheeseburger type horror movie, like The Nun 2 which I loved by the way I enjoyed it so much more than that snooze fest of an original installment from 2019.

I saw the latter and wasn't very impressed, even though I give kudos to look and feel and originality it portrayed.
Don't worry about that trailer. It was a good trailer because it told you NOTHING. But this movie has some GREAT surprises in store. I can't decide which I like better. They're both so good. Maybe Immaculate by a nose.

I absolutely loved this. It had me squirming in my seat many times. Sydney is a dynamo in this, the entire cast was actually great. That final act is bonkers. 😮

Immaculate is easily the best horror movie of 2024 so far. For once, we get a Catholic Nun Horror Movie that does something different that makes it unique. Sydney Sweeney's performance in this movie is easily her best to date. but then again this woman has been phenomenal in everything that she's been in, Madame Web not with standing.

The ending had me wtffff her facial expression when she started giving birth was so like almost real bro when she started screaming she's got blood all over her face looking she was straight crazy, no she been threw some Ill sh*t, she sold da fk out of this movie hard 🫵💯
