Also (hello i'm back lol) wanted to say that if there's gonna be a "war" in the comments about Damon Stefan and Elena (or anyone else), just remember that there isn't a single good person on that show except for Bonnie. Everyone else is awful, they all killed people, and they've all had selfish moments... it's a fucking vampire show for god sakes. I'd be worried if they weren't doing bad things half the time. I can say that Damon has done some bad things, but when you look at Stefan it's just a roller coaster of disappointment.

He wasn’t even mad that Dorian was trying to kill him after finding out that he killed his family. He didn’t blame anybody when he killed Enzo, he felt sorry and apologized to Bonnie. Here's thing i'm not mad, it's your opinions....Some of your reasons however very unfounded to my impression if I may say. The first time I saw the show I had a preference for Damon but after 5 or 6 times viewing it I honestly love both brothers equally which brings me to what you said about Stefan.
I will start this by asking, When has Stefan not owned up to anything he did? All the bad things he did he lives with it and is part of who he is-IN FACT: he his the one insisting on holding himself accountable even when everyone else wants to give him a pass. Stefan(S08E16 To Damon) "What you keep saying is wrong, we are all responsible for our actions, every drop of blood i've spilled I am accountable for." there its said clear as day! There's nothing 'hypocritical' about Stefan, which is a term you kept repeating with little example to illustrate.
If you talk of Stefan judging other's actions when he has done the same- Well he knows what he did is terrible and something he will have to live with, so he does not want others to do the same, it's not because you've made mistakes that you are not allowed to fault people for doing the same imo especially when it concerns murder, anyone should try to prevent that 'even if you're a bad person'
Stefan has never to my knowledge pushed attention on himself, i have no idea where you get at that. Yes the story has revolved around his issues mostly because his brother and elena were trying to save him from himself- and at other times because people were encouraging him to forgive himself for the actions he did, proof he FULLY holds himself accountable and explanation why he is 'brooding' considering he feels all the pain and suffering he's ever caused, i'm sure he's sorry he can't be a ray of sunshine after as you said he murdered thousands of people in his lifetime without virtually even having control over it.
2nd and that's more personal lol But I find Stefan HILARIOUS in some circumstances, he doesn't intentionally make jokes he is not quippy but some of his facial expressions are pure comedy gold, just look at his reaction at Kai singing that cover of 'Knocking on Heaven's door that's all i'm gonna say LMAO No kidding thought look closely at some of his interactions and delivery it's funny to all heck. The fact that you find him dry etc I don't agree but ultimately it's down to your preferences I won't fault you on that, i just find some of your criticism unsubstantiated, there are clearly times I was mad at Stefan and for the record, the Stefan 100% fandom are sometimes really shitty because they hold him in too high estime like a pristine angel when he is not....I'm neither on one side of the isle or the other, but he is to me a great character and still a good person, to me the most compassionate person on the show it's what defines him best,
He's the man who stood on Katherine's death bed after 150 years of being tormented by her and told her what happened to her was not her fault and she deserved to find peace. The man that ended up entirely rooting for a relashionship between his brother and his ex no matter how much that initially hurt him, and wether you despise his heroism or not he's the guy who ultimately gave his life for his friends and his brother to find happiness. In my book, THat's not a boring character when i put it that way. I've seen people 'dislike' Stefan but never outright HATE him like you do, it's your opinion although I can't say fully understand why still because as I said I don't understand the reasons behind your arguments.

Tbh what you said about stefan is cap. Even if stefan didnt go to mystic falls, all of this still would've happened because elena was the only living doppelganger who was human so she was doomed anyway. If you watched the whole show you would know that stefan and elena were bound to meet up because of the doppelganger curse that quetsiyah created. Stefan is the way he is because of trauma and he knows his past hence why he held back a lot. He didn't want to go back to those ways and hurt people like he did in the past.
Imo the show would've been so good if they had Viki live and go on a rampage and end up killing Matt then like flipping her switch bc of it and when they get her to turn it back on she realizes she needs to try and better herself and become a decent vampire if she's going to survive. At the end she could've kinda been like a Katherine character but not AS extreme as Katherine. She just had so much potential for great character development possibly even better than Caroline if given the chance.
I had a love/hate relationship because of the shit he did to Bonnie but then you rewatched and realize that girl practically picked that fight when she killed him first and got mad at him for getting her back. 💀

I would mostly agree with you that Damon owns up to what he does, with one exception. He never actually owns up to what he did to Caroline in season 1. For that reason, I could not place him on the same tier as her. Though I would agree that he's better than Stefan as a character.

OK this is super hypocritical. You can forgive Damon for everything but not Stefan? Just so you know Damon would've died if Stefan had never made him turn. Just so you also know, everyone is hypocritical. You calling Stefan and Elena the same but putting them in different categories doesn't make sense. Stefan always owned up to his actions, and ADMITTED he was worse than Damon. If anything, Damon blames everything he did on Katherine. Make it make sense.
We all know Damon would have died if Stefan didn't make him turn. But you're literally naming something selfish he did. Damon was ready to die and clearly stated that he didn't want to complete his transition, but Stefan made him because he didn't want to be alone. It's not everyday that you see someone who's ready to die, so if my brother made me live forever then I would be mad too. Yes, Stefan has owned up to his actions before, but it's not all the time. If Stefan and Damon did the same thing it's most likely that Stefan would be forgiven because he acts like the "good guy". And even if Stefan did say he was worse than Damon he still tries to put up this persona of the guy who's better than all vampires because he drinks animal blood instead. He's just annoying. If Stefan is mostly right then you should realize he's also right about being worse than Damon.
