      I think everyone is missing the point, most games will strain your gpu more than your cpu. Many games won’t utilize a Ryzen 5 series more then 50-60 percent while your GPU will be maxed out. He’s clarified really well that this combo will work fine, but it could be better.

    You should do a short on RAM if you haven't already, many people seem to ask on various forums whether they should get 16GB of RAM or more, especially with newer motherboards which can support 32GB+. My advice always is to open all your tabs/programs that you often use, then task manager to view the RAM usage. If you are getting close to maxing it out (especially if you haven't even started up a game yet) then maybe 32GB will be a safe bet but if you don't mind having programs and tabs refresh when you jump between them and a game, then 16GB will be enough for most gaming, otherwise 32GB will allow people with 20+ chrome tabs happily game and browse simultaneously without the fear of running out of RAM.

      I have used 32gb for some time and with new games I still have no issue having 3-4 windows with 50 tabs each. That's ofc thanks to suspension extension.
      Still I bought 2x16gb extra for 64gb total but I forgot about speed/timing restriction and got a different faster pair.
      That either makes it not boot if I have the faster pairs speed and if wanting to use both pairs means clocking down since old pair can't be clocked up to match.
      Don't remember it being so picky 10-15 years ago. Yes long time ago but still. So I'm returning them for 2x32gb. Will be like the old ones speed wise but they will run smoother vs 2 pairs.

    I think it's more future proof that way tho. If you get a more powerful cpu, you can be sure that your gpu will be totally used, even if you upgrade it in the future. I recommend to get a mid range cpu, so that you won't have any problems for ne thext years to come, and so that if you want to upgrade, you don't necessarely have to swap the cpu too. The 5600 + rx 6600 is a really good combo, because your gpu won't be bottlenecked for sure, and if you want to upgrade your gpu to something like a rtx 4080 in the future, you wont have any issue.

      8 GB of VRAM is not going to be enough for future games (there are many 2023 games that uses more than 8GB VRAM at even 1080p already) despite the 3070 itself is still going to be capable unless you're willing to tune the graphics down to medium-ish to decrease the VRAM consumption.
      For comparison, "The Last of Us" already took 4GB cards out of the equation even for the lowest settings of 1080p as it uses around 4.2GB of VRAM. Stack that up the higher you go with the graphics settings (and if you add it with RT as well), you'd be immediately out of VRAM.

      3070 might be a tincy tiny bit too good for 5 5600, i dont think it would change that much, 32gb of ram is perfectly fine, tho it depends on its speed, and 750 should be enough, if youre not sure about the psu, you can just look up psu calculator and check for yourself (also im not really sure if rtx 3070 is worth its money, but i should research more in that regard)

    If u play a lot of CPU intensive games like Valve games, that combo is killer. The 6600 is in high demand in the used market anyways, if in a few months to a year you save enough money, you can sell it at 75%-85% MSRP, and get a faster card. Also the AM4 socket can go up to a 5800X3D without having to get a new motherboard, and PSU.

    The problem with a 5500 and 6600 combo is no expandability because you’re limited to pcie3 by the cpu and 8 lanes only from the gpu. It’s borderline as is but the 5600 will at least give you pcie4 for future gpu upgrades

    Utilization is what he is talking about you need to balance the cpu and gpu so that non would waste in power since the cpu would work less and the gpu would work more but still as he says it will work on games that are not gpu or cpu hungry.

  • @joaomourao4617
    @joaomourao4617 Před 7 měsíci

    IMO, depends on the person, have a better cpu with a not so great graphics card is fine, sometimes the person will be doing other things, with some programs in the background, open browser, listening Spotify...all of that taking CPU power. In the begining a Ryzen like that doesn't strugle even a bit, but over the years You will notice the cpu not keeping up and the gpu still going.

      Don’t buy this combination. The 5500 doesn’t support PCIE 4.0, which limits the 6600’s performance in some games.

    • @DzDyT1
      @DzDyT1 Před 9 měsíci +1

      @@tuxido4913 the 6600 actuallt bottlenecks the 5500 in this case. The motherboard in my build supports any PCIE relative to the GPU. It really comes down to that 12.7% cpu>gpu , which is still decent for a budget build.

    • @tuxido4913
      @tuxido4913 Před 9 měsíci +2

      @@DzDyT1 That’s not how it works. The motherboard’s PCIE support is irrelevant because the CPU does not have PCIE 4.0 support, meaning the GPU and CPU cannot communicate fast enough in some situations, causing a bottleneck. Not to mention the 5600 is also just better value. Spend the extra $30 and have a CPU which will be able to handle a GPU upgrade in the future.
