I would personally go with performance.
I would say many if not most people who want a $600ish budget build are doing so because they lack money for higher end builds, so they try to maximize performance per dollar.
And that's not to diss anyone who is going for aesthetics. There's nothing wrong with getting an aesthetic build if that's what you want. It's just that most who go for aesthetics usually do so because they have money to spare.
Regardless of performance, I actually like the blackout stealth look better than the white RGB. Getting more performance per dollar would just be bonus for me.

@@axlroc yeah thats true. I had a stock cooler on my 3600X and it was loud. Louder than my blower reference RX 5700!

Dude, that looks SO GOOD! I don’t see where the ugly part is.
True, I have a full black and orange setup (headset, keyboard and mouse RGB) but I only have a laptop, never had a PC. Yet if I’m going to spend the money on a PC I’d rather go with raw performance.
It would be a first PC project I make myself and I want to know I’m getting the most out of my limited budget.

I like how zach makes an "ugly" build but actually a hard aesthetic one but without RGB

Hear me out, Zach makes the best build guides on all of CZcams. Both PCs looks great. Cable extensions and color coordinating is all you need for a clean build really.

I got lucky on the build I’m doing right now. I got a free case, mobo and PSU, and already had storage. Sold a mobo, NAS, and office PC I also got for free and got a kit of 32gigs DDR4 and $90. Adding a 5600X ($150 w/ cooler) and a RX 6800 XT ($370). Total out of pocket cost around $430. Not too bad, especially once I sell my old 1650 I5 9th gen gaming laptop.

Performance is usually the move but that aesthetic build is a nice happy medium. I’ve also never seen the white challenger 6600 and now I wish I had that one instead
I think you could do separate videos for each price range, one for aesthetics and the other maxperformance. If budget constraints allow, ofc. Maybe go black for both sometimes, then white, then bXw. Zach, please keep up the excellent work. full entertainment mode

All I see with white is cat fur and fingerprints. Black is best. Also, a 7600 vs a 6600 is a BIG improvement.

0:29 you could always just meet in the middle, where you can make a performance focused build but highlight some budget aesthetic elements like some Thermalright fans or maybe even a GPU Sag Bracket lol

I build my 1st custom PC about two months ago with same budget $600 and I got similar spec & performance but with aesthetic build with white theme build, for the spec I got Intel i5 12400F pair with RTX4060 & 16Gb RAM + 1Tb SSD, but for motherboard I choose the cheapest one MSI H610M DDR4 with 600W PSU, so far I'm really satisfied with my PC and it can run all my favourite games at high to max setting at least 75fps

I would rather go with pure performance one but get a nice Cabinet so that i can upgrade based on aesthetics by adding coolers and cables later on (i like black build more than white because black looks more neat for me at least)

Performance is what matters to me. I don’t mind some RGB and other things, but at the end of the day, I’m looking at my monitor, not the pretty lights and fancy case.
I use the black non-RGB version of that cooler on a 5500 and it's more than enough, as is the chip with the 2060S it's paired with. I knows me place, it's 1080P, I'm fine with that.
I would go middle ground... get the fish tank style case in black...get the performance parts and then add the cooler and cable extensions later... you can have a cool looking black build.. and have the best of both worlds... for barely a little more.
in my opinion, a black fish tank with customise RGB like orange white or purple still aesthetics as gorgeous. So i think performance is my first pick, and also i not frequently look the case while playing
Definitely performance because I'm not going to be looking at my pc when I'm gaming but its nice to have a nice looking pc in your room.

Oh and Msi spatium m371 and Patriot viper ram kit are awesome for budget I believe they are in a few of my builds

The PCI Gen 3 on that B450 board will hurt the RX 7600 PCI x8 lanes quite a lot. Spending slightly more for a B550 will yield even better performance.

I’m an aesthetics guy myself usually, but that bump up from the 5500 to 5600 alone makes it worth picking the performance build.

Hey Zach, love the channel! I would love to have a 800 dollar pc build that has a full size pc case and runs games like fortnite in 1440p while having amazing aesthetics.
Remember that regardless of aesthetic or just pure performance what matters is that you are happy with your pc, if you prefer a black box that looks like it came from the deepts of the abyss or a pc with more lights than a ciberpunk nigth club both options are ok as long as you like it, in the end you are the one who's going to use it and enjoy it.
Personally i would aim for black with dark lighting, like red or purple for appearance, i’m not gothic but i enjoy the black styles!
For flipping you need the aesthetics, for a personal build I would go with the performance and save up for some of the aesthetic parts overtime. I may start with a better looking case and add later an rgb cooler and rgb fans.
For the performance build, instead of buying the matrex 40 with only 1 fan, get the rgb version which for me is only $10 more and has 3 rgb fans included

I'd probably go with a mix on this, I like it being beautiful but I'm a massive budget baller so I would probably go with the performance one and add another 30 bucks or so (or look for a good deal on a used GPU or CPU) and add in cable extensions (and maybe go with some RGB fans instead of the black ones you put in)
I would go for the aesthetic over everything mindset too. I hate having ugly pcs on my desk when I’m gaming or working too
Performance, naturally! But hey, it's gonna chill under my desk, making room for my epic, oversized mouse pad, because you know, gotta elevate that gameplay to the next level of competition

I would take performance. Not only do I prefer the additional performance, but also the build doesn't hurt me when I look at it (I'm not throwing shit, I have photophobia; it can literally be painful to look at it).

I have made it better over time, as a carer I can't spend a lot in one go. So I built it and improved it slowly.
Now built another PC out of the parts I have upgraded..

I think one of the best micro atx cases is the Montech Air 100 ARGB
I would roll back to a R5 3600 and A b550m mother board with wi-fi (not and ASRock board) the case I need a Acrylic side panel. With 10yro twin tornados it is needed.
performance is a lot better as you can just make it more aesthetic later on
I like both builds, so I would make a pure performance build, and then a asthetic build
i got two 1080 tis and 2 i9 10900 cpus, an rtx 2060 dell card and two sticks of trident z 3000mhz all for 250$. the 2060 was dead but i still feel like i made out so good
I go performance. I do have a purty build now but I don't build budget anymore (IT manager over 40 folks at a fortune 200).....I can get what I want. But I only have one like that. The rest of my machines are mostly bang for the buck. I do tend to splurge a little on PSU and case (building in cheap, cheap cases can be hard on the knuckles)
