I have to recognize Maria Abi-Habib for her guts, reporting in Mexico is dangerous, since 2000 more than 160 reporters have been eliminated by these dangerous criminals; many for doing this kind of reporting. If this man tries to pursue his case in Mexico, he is putting his life in danger, many times government officials are colluded with the criminals…

Critical to warn him that the "scam victim recovery" scammers will be calling him next.

Easy to criticize and mock this fellow, but he has my sympathy and support. I hope someone goes to jail for bilking this man and his wife.

He's one of those men who think that they are smarter than everyone else and always right. Even when everyone around him, including his wife and children tell him over and over and over again that it is a scam and to stop sending money. But, of course, everyone else is/was wrong. Scenarios like this happen all too often.

This guy doesn't sound that dumb -- he just can't accept that he's screwed up so he keeps digging the same hole.

even though he's an idiot, I feel sorry for him. He has lost a lot of money that he and his wife could have had more fun with

Pardon me, everyone, for bringing politics into this, but listening to this poor guy reckon with his “stubbornness” and his resistance to the loss of his “smart guy” self-image helps me to understand the people who go on with their enthusiastic support of Trump after multiple indictments, demonstrated incompetence in handling the pandemic, and obvious willingness to be a stooge for autocrats and billionaires. It would be interesting to know how James voted.

Unfortunately, I agree. There is a resistance to taking blame, by trying to frame the arrogance as being stubborn and thinking he was smart. My experience is my own, but my experience with scammers (who are professional manipulators and excellent at what they do) is that they will not let you go, but change and adapt their tactic if they sense that you are on to them, and they will try to get what they can, and be willing to not get everything. I imagine what would have happened if the guy had said from the start that he would be handling everything through his lawyer.

I’ll talk politics. I understand it. President Trump is the President. Coumo and others put covid positive patients back into elderly care. Do you know why? Because they didn’t have health insurance so the hospital had to send them somewhere. So how is that President Trumps incompetence? Trump sent ships and built Covid hospitals in arenas. And there wasn’t any people in there. The deaths happened at elderly care. A lot of governors sent them back to infect the other old folks. And nurses were over worked and scared and nurses who wanted extra money can go from 1 building to another. And bringing virus. How is that trumps incompetence? I don’t blame the nurses they were trying to help? And I went to the emergency room during the pandemic because I had a broken leg. And because I have a Neurological condition . So they put a green wrist band on me and the covid positive get a red wrist band and we are separated. But do you know what we all use the same bathroom there is only two? No one cleans it after they use it or me. So a lot of stuff went wrong. And for his Indictments it says theory of crime. Meaning it theorized his crimes. He didn’t do a crime but they can charge him still. The people under him may have committed a crime or tax evasion. Not Trump. So yeah how am I stubborn
