I’ve NEVER heard Cody make the sounds he made getting into that plunge omfg Edit: hearing that jacksepticeye donated made me so fckin happy pls have him on the podcast I’ll cry
Dude this is so impressive. Gotta share, these videos are giving me massive inspiration. I'm down 40lbs since January. Averaging 3 miles per day walking. Thanks for sharing your journey Cody!
Cody, you are an inspirational person. I am a 59 year old -old hag -who, my daughter started me watching your videos when you started training. Started jogging again in January after not running since in my early 30s. I look forward your videos bc you keep it real. You tell us that it is hard and some days you feel like nothing is going right-- the road is not easy but worth it. You make us laugh-- and you and your wonderful Kelsey are priceless. On tough days I think of you running for 2 hours and it stops the negative thoughts. You are a phenomenal athlete and motivator. Thanks for all you do for our mental health! Keep it going!!! And GOOD LUCK !!!!!
Cody - here’s some advice for cat management during the night: try to keep your cats from napping for at least an hour before you go to bed. Try to play with them during that time to wear them out and make them sleepy so they will want to sleep at the same time as you. I also recommend getting an exercise wheel for them to use during the day. It’s like a hamster wheel, but cat-sized 😄 your cats seem pretty high-energy so they would probably love running on it! If you get one, encourage them to use it before you go to bed so they can release that extra energy and don’t keep you up at night. I hope this helps!
@@elizabethdadds7727 yes!! Laser pointers are so fun to use with cats! I always give them a treat after we’re done playing though so they feel rewarded, since they can’t exactly “catch” a laser point 😅
I can recommend setting up a space for them to sleep that’s far away from your bedroom where they can be shut in (but of course a space big enough for them to be happy/ have their litter tray etc - somewhere like a rumpus room, guest room or second living room). They might scratch the door in the beginning, but they will learn after a few weeks. I love my cats, but at the end of the day, sleep is really important and makes you a better person (and cat parent) in the long run.
would love to see a comparison video between how you felt pre-training to now!? interested in the mental/physical feelings that have changed, maybe what you expected and things that were surprising?
The “I’m nervous” was so genuine and adorable. I’m running my first marathon this weekend and I am super nervous but also excited like you said. WE ASCEND TOGETHER, CODY! Let’s goooooo!!
Did my first half marathon two days ago. Obviously the goal is to just finish, but I wanted to get sub 2 hours & got 1:56:58. Keep up the good work Cody! As for me, this is just the beginning, and thank you for your videos.
I'd actually love a playlist of cody's music to work out to. I already listen to the current songs cody has out while working out. Currently training for my first 5k thank you so much for all the inspo cody, will forever be grateful.
The fact that we can SEE Kelsey in the reflection while she's coaching Cody through the cold plunge AND THE NOISES, I literally watched this at least 8 times by now. Please we need Cody and Noel reacting to this on the TMG Pod.
Been watching Cody for years and always been a fan. Had no idea he had this whole part of his life now. Just binge watched all of Cody trains. I do a lot of running and sports, mean to see it Cody, love the vids, keep it up
So excited for all of the content this week, I have been with you since Vine and these videos are my favorite thing you have ever done. I genuinely look forward to these videos so much every week and they always lift me up. I love you Chody!!! Good luck!!
Just did my first 5k tough mudder and I gotta say you've been a real inspiration! Maybe this time next year I'll be running 3 hours at a time 😅😂 here's to the journey!
Ran my first 10 miler a couple weekends ago, and felt really strong at the finish! Would never have signed up without this channel. We would watch your vids before our long runs! Good luck this weekend!
Love watching Cody push his limits. It inspired me to start running and racing. I’ve run three 5k’s this year and did my first Tri-athalon sprint challenge. I would have never pushed myself if it weren’t for him. Choo-Choo Chodsters, we ascend together!
I’m 8 weeks into my half-marathon and this series motivated me to have a training plan for the first time and actually following it. Sub 1:30 is the goal. Energy is everything choo choo
We ascend together man.... I myself am about 4 days out from my first goal of reaching the top of Mont Ventoux on a bike. Got my first marathon in 2 weekends. You made me do this... Thank you for the inspiration and motivation man! You helped my reach this goal more than you know. Choo Choo mothertrucker
I'm doing my first half ironman next month and watching your training journey during a similar timeframe to mine has been really comforting and motivating. Good luck with your race Cody!
Brother, do you stretch enough? I hear your injuries and pains and i think a lot of it could be alleviated with proper stretch/yoga! Spend more time than you think stretching multiple times a day and your body will thank you!!! Love you Cody and I have faith you are going to keep doing great and finish this strong!!
I would hope since he’s worked with trainers that they taught him the importance of stretching but I’ve realized people hate stretching. I tell people the same whenever they complain about tightness or soreness. I was a competitive dancer growing up so I won’t do any exercise without thoroughly stretching, it’s like a religion to me lol
You're motivating in the best (funniest) most light-hearting way. I ran my first half marathon yesterday at ~13:00 pace. Wasn't fast by any means but was the farthest I've ever ran by far. The most I did while training was walk/jog 8 miles. Good luck w the Ironman
That’s my pace too! But hey, we’re doing it! Ascending together! 🎉 My first half (last Oct) a 70 year old man said 8-10miles as a max before a half is perfect so, I’m gonna listen to him! 😂 Cheers to the first and onto the second! 😉
I just ran a marathon yesterday and can barely walk today. The idea of running one after your Ironman swim and cycle is insane to me. You can do though Cody, you’ve put in all the work and looking forward to the race video! Best of luck
this channel came at the perfect time. I started my running journey as a BRAND new runner around the time Cody uploaded his first video on this channel. He helped to motivate me to sign up for races. Come August, I will be doing my first marathon!
On the Cold plunge try and avoid it 4 hours after training because , when you do strength or endurance training (long bikes and runs) the inflammation provides the stimulus to improve, so cold plunge reduces the inflammation making it counterproductive, but outside of that window it’s great! Hope this helps :)
Kelsey telling him *BREATHE* like she's talking to one of her students is hilarious
Cody Breathe.
Her students?
@@DrMocktopus1she used to be a teacher
Kelsey's moral support during the cold plunges were everything 😂😂😂😂😭😭😭
What a Chad
ENERGY IS EVERYTHING.
Sounding like she was coaching him through birth 😭😭😭
it was weird to be honest, like she was an actual coach or something
I needed one more 😂😂
the way he looks at kelsey for support in the plunge
and she truly is a great coach. i love yall
Kelsey saying this was a major turn off on the podcast makes watching this hilarious
I’ve NEVER heard Cody make the sounds he made getting into that plunge omfg
Edit: hearing that jacksepticeye donated made me so fckin happy pls have him on the podcast I’ll cry
omg when worlds collide
Cody’s sounds in the cold plunge are killing me
I had to turn down my volume. I’m in public.
seeing kelseys stance in the reflection while telling cody to breathe is everything LOL
Speaking on behalf of Kelsey's circlers: GOOD LUCK CODY!!! YOU CAN DO THIS!
The way kelsey is being so supportive and then put you on blast for this on the pod on friday 😂
Dude this is so impressive. Gotta share, these videos are giving me massive inspiration. I'm down 40lbs since January. Averaging 3 miles per day walking. Thanks for sharing your journey Cody!
Congrats man!
Work it king
Ascend together!!
Way to go KJ!!!
CHOO CHOO KJ
Please don’t stop posting your workouts after the race! We love them and they are so inspiring!
im cracking up at Kelsey and Cody during his cold plunge 😂😂😂

You are not an old hag!!!! 59 is beautiful!

i was gonna say the same thing! i sometimes just use a laser pointer to tire out my cat and she loves it and is ready to sleep through the night
@@elizabethdadds7727 yes!! Laser pointers are so fun to use with cats! I always give them a treat after we’re done playing though so they feel rewarded, since they can’t exactly “catch” a laser point 😅
Yep. Big high energy play time session, then feed their evening portion of food, and then to bed. Solid routine
And earplugs just in case lol

Kelsey you are the only other person that I have ever heard who loves the hot air when you get in a car on a hot day. I love that feeling lol
would love to see a comparison video between how you felt pre-training to now!? interested in the mental/physical feelings that have changed, maybe what you expected and things that were surprising?
The “I’m nervous” was so genuine and adorable. I’m running my first marathon this weekend and I am super nervous but also excited like you said. WE ASCEND TOGETHER, CODY! Let’s goooooo!!
Cody hyperventilating during the cold plunge was so fucking funny but also very cool to see someone be real about how hard it is!
So glad Kelsey doesn’t get the ick from the breathing palpitations you were having during the plunge, true love 💕😂
kelsey's coaching during the cold plunge is actually so sweet
Ive never laughed harder than at codys little squeals in the cold bath
Did my first half marathon two days ago. Obviously the goal is to just finish, but I wanted to get sub 2 hours & got 1:56:58. Keep up the good work Cody! As for me, this is just the beginning, and thank you for your videos.
congrats dude! what a joy
Running my first in October! Any tips?
Missed the word “half” and thought you set a new world record 😂
@@TheSameNameasYou me too i was like “are you joking? what’s your name?”
Heck yeah! That’s awesome
I'm obsessed with Cody doing the ice bath with two chains hanging around his neck 😂
loved when you looked over at Kelsey the second day you tried the cold plunge being like “are you getting the ick??”
Training for my first 5K! Thanks Cody for the motivation! Lets Ascend!!
Not Cody whimpering
I'd actually love a playlist of cody's music to work out to. I already listen to the current songs cody has out while working out. Currently training for my first 5k thank you so much for all the inspo cody, will forever be grateful.
Knowing on their podcast that Cody’s noises were the closest thing to an “ick” that she’s ever had with him makes this even funnier
I'm crying😭😭🤣🤣
i was having an anxiety attack and cody trains helped take my mind of it so thank you sir
Energy is everything
The fact that we can SEE Kelsey in the reflection while she's coaching Cody through the cold plunge AND THE NOISES, I literally watched this at least 8 times by now. Please we need Cody and Noel reacting to this on the TMG Pod.
I love how he very manly and seriously says 'I am breathing just fine' 2:03 while he is totally not breathing just fine.
started consistently running a few months ago and RAN MY FIRST EVER HALF MARATHON THE OTHER DAY!!!! We ascend together, choochies 🙏🏼
Cody going from gamer trucker with a man bun to hot married triathlon guy is the redemption arch I didn’t know I needed
Kelsey, I am TOTALLY WITH YOU on the whole constantly-cold, loving-a-hot-car thing. Anyone else??
Energy, truly, without doubt, is everything.
Been watching Cody for years and always been a fan. Had no idea he had this whole part of his life now. Just binge watched all of Cody trains. I do a lot of running and sports, mean to see it Cody, love the vids, keep it up
Running my first 70.3 ironman same day as you in St. George, Utah! This channel has been awesome to watch throughout my training!
Know from the Insanely Chill podcast that the cold plunge gave Kelsey the ick has me CACKLING
congratulations on reaching your goal man, your a real inspiration!
