It’s mostly idiot owners. I worked at a Toyota shop and a Toyota Tundra came in with a cooked transfer case because the owner doesn’t know how a transfer case works and drove it on low range on the highway. Toyota naturally refused to warranty it but the owners dad forked out for the repairs. We also have a good amount of Zupras coming in with suspension damage from curb impact. Last one that rolled in had 3/32nds left on rear tires after just 20,000kms and that alone says a lot.

Tyler with that quote dont worry, its a lamborghini, not a mclaren, when its fixed it will stay fixed as long as you let it warm up first before getting on it, and dont use launch control, as I bet that's how the first gear got shredded in the first place, either that or burnouts on a cold transmission, as lambo transmissions need time to warm up before you go hard on them.
its something that's been a thing on them since the Coun - Tash (say it right now, COUN, TASH, not what you were saying) you gotta let the 10 quarts of transmission oil warm up first before you get on it, and this is the same engine they used in that.
as that is the only drawback of italian cars, you gotta give them 5 minutes or 6 miles to warm up before you get on them, which sounds annoying but well, just treat it like everytime you take it its gonna be cold outside.
as with any Italian car, you need to show it mechanical sympathy, once you do their fine, as Jay's Countach has over 70K miles on his and the only thing he's had to replace were the door struts, and all because he let it warm up first.

$20K for an entire replacement that will last 200K miles? That seems like a great price-point/profit margin when the originals cost far far more. I can see people with NEW cars doing the swap just to never have to worry about it on a half million dollar supercar. Similar to the IMS swap on older Porsches.
