That's not a token of appreciation. That's a token of depreciation.
i said that out loud and I came to comment it goddamnit
I came here to say that as well!
He should make key chains out of them.
Actually, it's a token of trepanation
Wizard: I need you to sign this form
Tyler: Signs without reading
Hoovie’s next episode: Why I’m giving all my cars and my house to my mechanic
I think the cars are worth more to the Wizard when they're in Hoovie's hands!
It was just a kidney, one from everyone in his family ...
It is just normal boilerplate lawyer speak ensuring Hoovie gives ten percent of his youtube audience to the wizard in perpetuity.
On the pail?
And kids. And dog.
Hoovie: “Dumbest automotive channel on all of CZcams”
Wizard: *Nods vigorously*
I laughed my head off when I saw that XD
Well it is so true
As Hoovie laughs all the way to the Bank...💲💲🤣🤣 & Wizard does too..😎
The funniest part is at the end where they're talking about how it is all fine yet the car is smoking in the background
The car wasn't even smoking.
Never seen actual concern in Wizard’s eyes before. That’s slightly scary.
Chris Pofahl The “omg, what have I done?!” Face.
Been there.
never seen him deliberately write off a multi hundred thousand dollar vehicle before either
He was counting the $$ that cut cost him. Been there, done that - but damn - why didn't they check that thing out completely before installing?
@@michaellaporta6844 they did. They knew it was there. They thought they were going to miss it. They didn't.
I work with carbon fiber composites daily. I recommend using an epoxy to seal the cut edges so no moisture gets between the plies.
Agreed. I would epoxy to seal the edges and glue or bolt a slat in place so I could epoxy the 3 pieces for each hole back into the tunnel too.
No worries that will be where the car breaks in half and burns.
Wizard, you need to seal the carbon where you have cut it otherwise their is a risk of delamination of the carbon that could cause massive degradation of the structural integrity, use an epoxy glue to seal the bare carbon where it has been cut
Use EA9394, you could also try EC2216
I completely agree I had to do that on carbon hood it will also stress fracture and become a spot for moisture to hold and freeze and expand there and you live up north
The structural integrity of that carbon tunnel is severely compromised now. It can be repaired, but the original pieces will need to be epoxied in place and a thick layer of carbon placed over it.
@@barondugger epoxy doesn't load well in tension. It needs titanium or balanced carbon doublers. I doubt the oem would provide you with a ply lay-up to design an adequate repair.
and it's gonna delaminate why? this comment reads like somebody whose experience with composites is strictly from reading google.
In a few months: My Lamborghini split in half on the highway
Yeah, with how thick that carbon was, it def looked structurally required lol
The transmission shifting is THE coolest thing i've ever seen. That was super cool
So rhythmic! Almost like a beat!
definitely worth cutting the line tbh
Transparent cover essential now
You don't appreciate the engineering that goes into these until you see something like that...
Watch it in 2x speed and it’s a cool beat
I would have done the same.
FYI; Use a respirator when cutting fiber materials.
yeah really - the car can be replaced but that's optional, a lung transplant not so much
agree...it's fiber glass.
@@wrxzboost carbon fiber. Even WORSE!
Yes. Carbon fiber particulates cause cancer. The Marine Corps made that very clear to anyone who works on aircraft. Because they don't want to pay disability.
Carbon fibre, fibre glass, fuel and oil are all carcinogenic

"Laughed out of the Lamborghini factory"
Isn't that how Ferrari ended up with Lamborghini as a competitor in the first place?
Check out Tyrrell's Garage for that story!
thatotherguy27
That had to do with the transmission too!
Ferrari was using the same type clutch as Lamborghini in his tractors but charging three times the price!

They've become what they sought to destroy

Wizard: "It's probably not good for us to breath in"
Hoovie moves in with the camera: *let me capture this moment from an inch distance*
Watching that e-gear operate through the access hole opened up was insanely cool, and I wonder how few people have ever seen that in action before
This has to be on the short list of your best videos ever. Bravo.
I think this is one of the best Hoovie/Wizard videos. Maybe to put it on both channels and lets share it widely.
Was going to say that too :)
Faacts!
Was just thinking that as well, this is what its all about!
Agreed, excellent video, there’s no rehearsing gold like this.
I think that you INCREASED the value of the car by making it more serviceable.
Certainly increased it by making it run!
The only serviceable lambo transmission. That’s a rare car bro.
Less weight too.
Should've been a factory hole there instead of removing the whole thing.
Car Wizard (and Hoovie though he wasn't in the dust as much): That glassy-looking fiber looks more like fiberglass than carbon fiber, but then again I just realized I don't know what carbon fiber looks like when you saw through it. Interesting trivia: Your lungs CANNOT clear carbon dust. Once it's in there, it's there for life. The lungs can detect it and keep trying to clear it, and over the years those constant reactions cause more and more scarring to build up in the lungs. It keeps getting worse until you can't breathe. The reason I know is because my grandfather had black lung disease from working in a coal mine and I looked it up to see what it is. Interesting anecdote: A guy who worked in a body shop told me it's very rare to see a body worker over 50 don't make it much past the age of 50 because many of them don't use masks when they paint, which is even worse than working in a coal mine--lots worse--and they tend to die before they get far into their 50s. I do not have any medical backing or scientific evidence for this, it's just something a guy who worked in a body shop said to me, but for all I know it could be true. Ok, look. I'll just man up and say it. I'm worried about your health so when you're doing something that produces dust I'd really like it better if you wore a mask when doing dusty work. You might not think breathing is your favorite thing to do but you'll sure well know it is if you can't (may that never happen.)
So right. Wear a mask. But this was otherwise the best yet. Real emotion.
"But at least its not the corona virus amirite guys"
Lambo: "did it work?"
Ferrari: "You did WHAT? We have dispatched a hit team. Stay where you are."
The only thing crazy about this is not wearing masks when drilling and cutting carbon fiber!!!! C'mon guys, we want you to be around for a long time to make more videos!!!
I was thinking the same thing. I thought a coment about this would be much higher.
@@qv81 Same here, this is stupid but not for Hoovies reasons
"Welcome to Hoovie's garage, the dumbest automotive channel in all of CZcams"
*Wizard nods vigorously in the background*
Loved that part.
i watched that part like 5 times, couldnt stop cackling
Came here to post this. Was not disappointed. 😎
There a bunch of engineers in Italy looking at this speechless, at the
E wizard and his Balls and resolve.
Cutting access holes made perfect sense in that situation and saved a huge amount of time and hassle.
Great idea and great job!
I actually burst out laughing when (20 seconds in) the Wizard enthusiastically agrees with nods at Tyler’s ‘dumbest automotive channel’ statement 😂😂😂
Well spotted 😄😄
When wizzy realised he slice the hydraulic line he genuinely looked like he wanted to cry
Duck Tape......or maybe Gorilla Glue, Get a portable hydraulic crimpy ( not a word) thingy and bypass the sucker. Don't worry can't see it from my house mentality will go far. :)
that was the look of a guy who realised he has to replace a 1000$ hydraulic line for a guy like Tyler for free
@@HoLDoN4Sec hoovie signed the waiver , it's all on hoovie.
Before I cut anything I always check the other side. He could have easily moved that line beforehand or sandwiched a metal plate between the line/tunnel. Just lazy work there. Damn thing was on a lift he could have checked.
@@lolhowmad What does it being on a lift have to do with this? You can't see that from underneath, that cut out is above the transmission. Literally no way to see that until after you cut it.
Just love how calm & methodical The Wizard is. What Hoovie & him have done together is great. It's nice to see The Wiz 🧙♂️ vids getting better & better. Great channels 👌🏻 Thank you for the great content & entertainment.
What to admire? He could put his fingers before cutting the level ING pressure line and find out that it is there. Measure twice cut once
@@adamt3332 It would also be his job to deny doing such bs "repairs" to begin with. If the transmission has to come out again, well, so be it.

Guys.. If there ever is a time to wear a mask it's when you're cutting carbon fiber..
This!! ☝️
Long sleeves can be useful too, carbon fiber dust is so itching!
ok safety bob go look for some open toed shoes on the jobsite...
Yikes
There are two camps, these guys are clearly from the "safety second, get the goddamnjobdone first" faction. I am agnostic, but I lean towards the "safety second" camp.
13:03
That's Hoovie expressing his jubilation.
You meant 12:20.
It amazing that what makes all that engineering work is two parts that look like what you could find at Radio Shack
When they did the fuel pump on the Z28, the entire time I was just thinking fold down the back seat, pull back the carpet, and cut a hole. Then they do it on a lambo.
I had to do the same thing to my Hummer H1. Chopped a trap door into the tunnel over the gas tank to access the fuel sender unit. But definitely, agreed, why not do both or none...
Came here to post this. They wouldn't cut a hole in a z28 but lambo, hold my beer!
smf333 said Bam Margera, circa 2003 🤣
I had a mouse chew through the fuel line on top of the tank on my '06 Corolla. I removed the back seat, in preparation of measuring and cutting a hole to access the top of the fuel pump where the line attached. Toyota beat me to the punch. There was a metal panel right over the fuel pump, held down by three screws.
Hoovie: Doesn't cut a trap door to replace his Z28's fuel pump
Also Hoovie: Cuts two trap doors in his Lambo
I was screaming at the screen for them to do that for the Z28
@@ironymatt I am not too proud to say I have cut "trap doors" in cars when it made sense. If you can avoid an engine out procedure by all means cut whatever.
@Bailey Hatfield lol the only way to repair that is replace the tub, it has destroyed the structural rigidity and strength. The car is a write-off
i was so confused. Everyone cuts a hole to do z28 fuel pumps.
@@mycosys uh, the factory holes in the carbon fiber were cut into the tub after it was formed. So, no. Those 2 little holes aren't compromising integrity anymore than the existing ones are.
Defenerly not the dumbest car channel on youtube. Well done capturing that transmission learning process.

He IS a wizard! GREAT problem solving and kudos Hoovie for allowing for the access holes!
I'm working my way through the whole story - it's fascinating! Three notes from this vid - flexible inspection camera, safety glasses and dust masks. (Not that I'll ever be cutting holes into the transmission tunnel of a Lamborghini!) Looking forward to the next vid already....
Poor wizard, he looks as if someone asked him to hurt a kitten :(
Yep he was up for doing that mod one bit and looked pissed when the line was cut , laurel and hardy “look what you made me do .” ⭐️
There's nothing wrong with this. Doesn't matter if it's a Lambo or any other sled. Cost vs. just fixing it..
I agree
Had a '79 Nova decades ago (no A/C) with a leaking heater core. Didn't feel like taking the dashboard apart to get to it, so just cut the engine compartment heater core housing apart, replaced the heater core from the backside, and then used sheet metal strips and pop rivets to put the thing back together.
only problem is the carbon fiber is structural. 1 hole would be fine 2 is questionable
justin j I can assure you that these small holes are not enough to cause any issues, if it was that close to borderline then they wouldn’t have been able to safely make the car a roadster like this one is.
One of your best vids so far, Hoovie. Congrats. And a big thumbs up to Wizard. You make a good team.
This has to be your BEST video on you channel. This win was EPIC!!!!!!!
Wow! That operation of the gears was amazing! You've got gold there to be honest. No one else in the world probably has footage of that. It's crazy to think how close the transmission is to the occupants. You basically rest your arm on it.
No kidding. It's amazing how much shit is spinning at like 20,000 RPM right beside you and you never think about it
