Been using Capture One Pro since version 7 (now 12). I love seeing and knowing pros that I trust using it as well. Thanks, Miguel. You always kill it.
I just started my subscription to capture one, it's gonna be a learning process I've been used to Lightroom for quite a while
Thanks Miguel for your clear explanation and comprehensive demonstration.
This is by far the BEST VIDEO explaining a step by step on how to.
Thank you!!!! This was so good.
Thank you so much, Im super new to photography so this definitely helps.
Exactly what I am looking for, great content!
Thanks Boricua. It was great meeting you in Vegas.
I had just got my T7 I could not think of why I could not connect to my comp lol I never thought of turning the Wi-Fi off lol. When I started breeding snakes I watch young kids who built their own cages and setups and taught me a lot also. Keep it up nice job.
I will give you just 99.99% marks to 100.One of the best tutorial i saw after long time. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
That was a good job good presentation I also use tether as an addition I have a HDMI cable from my Toshiba laptop to an external monitor mounted on the wall so my models can view the monitor which is awesome setup for me
I dig the idea of connecting to a large TV. So long as it's color calibrated you'd be good to go!
Great video. I'm pretty new to Capture One, i'd be interested to see how much of Capture One you use before hitting Photoshop
thanks bro, very helpful. first time to use camera one. stay safe.
Thanks lot for introducing the software!
Wow Miguel, that really sorted me out, I didn't have the right settings on my camera because I'd been using the camrote app, once I reset those I was able to tether fine with C1 and my new USBC cable! Thanks again!
Extremely helpful. My set up was successful through watching this video. Much appreciated. Thank you :)
So happy to hear it!
Nicely done! Very helpful.
great video, Miguel! you just taught me to tether!
Very clear and helpful, thanks so much.
Hello Miguel. Love your tutorials. Please can you show me a guide on how to present my photos/make a presentable portfolio
Great video on the subject. Yes you can do this with Adobe Light room guys but I find that Capture One is a bit faster. Capture One also have a way for your clients to review images on there iPad or phone which also keeps a client from being to close to you on set. They can sit back a see the images as you take them. I don't think it will make your photography any better but it will let you look at a bigger image which should help you see what your lightning looks like so you can make better changes on set. Its a good product! Trust me I am a pro and shoot for a living!
This is very clear and informative. Thank you
Thanks for watching!
I always tether with my product photography. It is a game changer.
Do you tether when you're on location, say in a park or some similar location? If so, do you carry spare batteries for your computer, or do you plug into an external portable power source?
I just got Capture One so I could shoot tethered with my Sony a77ii. This was very helpful.
Can you still edit on Photoshop & Lightroom?
@@Edgartripp I abandoned CaptureOne because I couldn't get it to work consistently so I'm back to not being tethered. My PS is CS4 so there is no tethering, and my main software, ON1, doesn't tether with Sony.
Hello Miguel, very helpful video.
You sold me. Very well done.
Great video! Thank you!
I will try Thanks Miguel
This video helped a lot!
I will try this later today, thank you.
Two things. Firstly, I FRICKING LOVE YOU. I have a lot of respect for creators that aren't obnoxious "WHAT'S UP CZcams, ITS YA BOI!" creators. It's nice to find a photography channel that isn't someone reciting a load of crap pretending they know what they're talking about. Second. I FRICKING LOVE THAT DBZ SHIRT! If I could only wish Shenron to make CZcams a better place. 😂
Thank you so much for the feedback! 😁✌️
great video , I have a question, do you know how to charge the camera and tether at the same time?
Perfect video!
Top stuff & thank you ....
Awesome thank you! What picture profile are best for the sony a7riii?
Very helpful
I don't care about teathering I care about your DragonBall shirt lol love your channel . thank you for your hard work man.
This is extremely helpful due to those tiny view finders and manual focus don't make it easier
Wow what an awesome video. Is there anything like this for beginners like myself. Please advise and thank you 🙏
Thank you so much
How do you connect your camera with the computer, so you can see live how you're doing (For when you're taking pictures of yourself)? Is this the way? And if so, can you click on the computer and make it take the pictures, or do you have to run back and forth? - And yes. I am beginner.
Great video Miguel! :)
Thank you!
love the shirts bro.
any tips on how to shoot in portraits mode without manually rotate the pic to view in landscape mode?
Hi Miguel, Great Video, I have a Sony a77 and would love to start tethering, I have been looking through the internet for Solutions to see if I can tether. but i am getting mix massages. Please can you help.. thank you for your time.
Thanks Miguel for a great lesson. Could you please help me with an issue I'm facing? My aperture keeps on changing everytime I take a shot. I'm shooting manually mode and I set in all my settings properly. But the aperture changes with every shot I take. Thanks in advance
Thanks for the enlightenment is awesome plse does it work also on videos
Thank you som much very helpfull
Hi Miguel! Really nice work you're doing buddy 👍👍
I just have one question!!
What that black background your model is standing in front called and made of???
this was helpful
Muchas gracias.😄
Hi. I loved all your tutorials. I've seen a lot of tethering videos and no one talks about the pc specification. I don't wanna shoot and lose all my work =/. Can u tell me an't suggestion about it please. I'm a big fan of your work
Very nice
Tether Tools, Air Direct Wireless: Miguel, would you consider using this device, assuming the transfer speed is close enough to that of a cable.
Do you know if any of Apple's stock software would work well tethering? Just rather streamline software if possible..
Miguel, i’m using an EOS are and what if I just want to be tethered to a large 4K monitor so that someone watching the shoot can preview the pictures while I’m shooting? But yet not tethering to a computer?
Thanks,
Adam
What kind of specs does a laptop need to run this smoothly
great video. I am confused with AF button. I have a a7rv with 24-70 gm2. In a livestream, david Grover says that AF button doesn't work with Sony. For still photo, Do i set my camera to manual focus or AF-S with single point ? a pity we don't see in live view the focus point of sony camera. For portrait, just AF-C with eye detection so sure eye will be accurate ? more tuto on tether in practice with focusing are welcome.
I’m a hobbyist photographer so who is capture one actually for or should I keep using Lightroom and photoshop?
Hello
I’d like to know if the Capture One Pro 22 software has this tether feature.
Thank You 🙏
Subscribed! 👌🏼
Thank you! Welcome 😃✌️
Was waiting for this video. Just got my TetherTools cable recently and can't wait to test it out this weekend.
Hello there, great video! Do you know how to set up camera to have
images saved on "PC+Camera" on Nikon Z6ii? I am terrified with not
having everything stored at my Sim Card!
Is there a difference when tethering to a computer and using a bluetooth connection to monitor on a tablet?
Can this be used to record Videos as well?
Hi there! Quick question, can you save images to camera and pc on a nikon camera? I've been trying to look this up but so far nothing. If you can answer this question I'd greatly appreciate!
What is your opinion of air direct wireless ?
I shoot with a z6. What kind of printer do you use for this. If you got hired on the spot to print photos at a event
Would it not be better to use a tether cable usb c to usb c? or is there not much difference?
Can you use any USB cable that can transfer Data or is there something special about Tethering tools cables? The tether cables cost an arm and a leg .
Is it possible to shoot tethered just using an HDMI cable and a monitor just for reviewing?
Miguel will you be making more post-production videos soon?! We've been waiting for quite a while now
That's the plan! I've got a bunch of videos I've already filmed that I have to get out after editing, but thats tops on my list.
OMG I feel so dumb. Young man thanks LOL Good video
Is there any advantage to using a tethering cable over tethering over wifi? Does it produce better image quality? Great video! Thanks!
Thank you! Image quality will be the same, but the cable tether will transfer large images much faster and prevent causing a bottle neck while you're shooting. Wifi still has a ways to go to make it a viable option over using a cable.
@@MiguelQuilesJr Thank you for answering! I appreciate your time!
ive wondered about tethering for a while now. i have used LR for many years and still run 5.71 (my wife and daughter got the 2 licenses on LR6!) and ive not been able to justify springing for a perpetual subscription on LR. so I went with a purchase (yeah i know the upcoming pitfalls) for Capture One.
my laptop, really is HD-challenged. I wish it had a couple of TB of HD but being SSD, theyre not very big. i currently download my cards to a portable HD that i plug in. here is my question:
can i tether directly to my portable HD? it would be much more convenient than trying to shoot and save on the computer, since the images would all have to be moved (negating any workflow savings) of saving on the computer...
also ive thought about just picking up a tablet to use as a 'big monitor' for the client to see, while saving to my memory cards. i dont see where most android tables have more than just the standard 'charging' port. do you know of any that have auxillary or extra ports for use as a monior?
Pls explain , if you shoot 3 or more persons , same day or just one with different outfits and u want to put eaxh outfits on different folder.....how do you create those folders , thank you :)
With the images on screen is there an option to compare them with each other by overlaying them over each other with the transparency set to 50%?
My Canon won’t work if the memory card is in it. It saves all files to Capture One but I don’t have a card in my camera . This makes me nervous. Is Capture One safe to save without a card in camera?
Excellent video! I'm doing at least 80% of my work tethered. I'm using an old Canon 30D & Canon 5d MARK II depending on the job. All of sudden both Cameras do NOT want to tether to my HP laptop. I have changed batteries, put on a new Tether Pro cable (never used), tested the cameras work, everything seems to work but either camera will connect to the computer! Any Suggestions?
Thanks for watching! Have you tested the USB ports to confirm if they work with other devices? Also, does the computer make any sounds when you plug the camera in and turn it on?
@@MiguelQuilesJr Thanks for the input. No the computer does not seem to make any sound. The ports have always worked before on the computer but i did try different ports. The only thing else i can add at this point is the cameras seem to do continous buffering as soon as i start tether capture.
I am going to try the Canon EOS software in a few minuites to see if that works.
I have a Sony Nex-6 and when I get to USB Connection don’t have the “PC Remote” option. Is there any other way to do it? Thanks.
Great tutorial .... gonna definitely give Capture One a try
I like Capture One, but as long as Lightroom is included with the PS subscription, I see no reason to switch. I didn't notice i big upgrade in speed either between them, but maybe people with a better PC setup will notice it.
I am getting the error 70 on canon 80 d when I do tether shoot .I keep removing and putting battery again and again till it starts .also Ithere is some issue with the card .a msg is always there that no card .this camera is three years old .any solutions?
I'm curious if eye autofocus on my a7riii works with Capture 1 like it does with the Sony "Remote" desktop application?
Work?
Does this work for videos as well?
Do I need Wi-Fi to run capture one ?and can I print from it ?
I use the PlayMemories mobil App with my Soy 7III. I don't need a cable to tether my pics. That's easy to use and I can see the results directly on my tablet.
PlayMemories is a great option to see your images on your mobile device, but you're not looking at or manipulating RAW files with that. They work completely different.
What is the exact name of your tether table, and where can I get one.Prince
Always great advice. PLEASE get rid of the monotonous terrible background music!
Thanks for the helpful information Miguel! Would you consider Capture One to be a good alternative to Lightroom?
Thank you! And yes, absolutely. It does everything that Lightroom does, only better in my opinion!
@@MiguelQuilesJr does Lightroom support Sony cameras for tethering?
It does, but it requires more work to set up and is slower to show you the images. It's pretty lousy at this point.
Miguel Quiles I just bought my tethertools cable and jerk stopper and am using Sony imaging edge software and it works good.
How to connect a7iii for Live printing?
Capture One doesn't detect my Olympus E-1 DSLR. The Olympus program works fine with the original Olympus Studio Program. Is there a Cap One fix for it?
Thanking you in advance.
love it update of it aha
Normally use LR for tether but going to take Capture One for a test drive
What’s LR?
Lightroom
Thank you, can I also tether my Android Phone cam to my laptop too? Pls help
Hi, is possible from Phone to PC....?
How long can be the cable ?
Hi there. Just wondering if its possible to tether and also use the camera remote to take my own photos
Hello there. Absolutely yes! You can use either one to take a photo at any time as long as you're tethered.
Is it recommendable to use an external drive as destination, would this slowdown the process?
That's exactly how I do it these days. I do my editing on my office or home computer and having that on a drive makes it easy.
Thanks for the video. I’ve been looking for a USB-C tether cable, but the TetherTools version has poor reviews. Most of the complaints are that it’s too stiff, which makes it hard to work with. What is your experience with it?
My pleasure! Their cables have worked well for me. I haven't had any abnormal issues with them at any point.
I have the USB C version, it's fine, in fact it feels better than my older usb versions
For the best, most versatile setup. Try using a 15ft USB extension cable attached to an android charger. If you already have a charger for an android device like a galaxy note 8, then the extension cable is only $7.99 at local retailers
Hey Miguel
Excellent video support-thank you. I am ready to go 100percent tether-doing cosmetic and fashion and getting killed in post on details
Question-i have a really old mac laptop and need something new and lighter-I edit on my desktop (imac) so i want the least expensive but most appropriate processing speed etc on a new laptop
Guidance? Recommendations?Thank you!!
Thank you! For your question, this is a decent PC at around $1k. amzn.to/30fDh8R Main things to look for is a GPU, 16GB or more of RAM, and preferably an SSD hard drive. 👍
