...Just not off the floor, that will have been bedding for sheep, cattle/calves, ponies, pigs or something and is likely to have whatever species of feces left from them too. It looks like they've used a cheap van instead of a livestock trailer, or to transport more in one go while also towing a trailer. It would definitely explain the floor rotting off next to the side door as that's where everything whatever animal was in there produced will have pooled, until it corroded its own drain obviously.

Who'd of guessed a van episode would be the best episode on a (mostly) car channel, absolutely loved this episode and can't wait for more! All that laughing was infectious and really lifted me up on what was a pretty arghhh day (in the middle of quitting smoking, so i really needed this good chuckle).
Old Top Gear had a series of Van challenges and it was brilliant this video reminded me of it.

I bought a 1998 Smiley face Transhit in 2006 for £250.
All it needed was 4 tyres, new front discs & pads, new front springs, new hard brake lines, (which I made), and an engine.
All in, on the road, including MOT, tax & insurance, it cost a grand.
It lasted another 7 years until the body dissolved beyond the point of welding it up.
'Manny the Tranny' was that van's name.
2.5 litre, 4 pot, non-turbo diseasel.
Flat out at 74mph, whether it was empty or fully loaded & towing a trailer with a race car on.
It would run on diesel, kerosene, petrol & diesel mixed, cooking oil, BBQ Lighting fluid, or even used engine oil. The motor I put in it had been to the Sun & back and would run on just about anything flammable. 👍
It was a good camper in later years too, as once the rear floor rusted out you didn't have to get out in the middle of the night to go for a pee, you just aimed through one of the larger holes in the floor.
The tears are streaming out my eyes watching this thank you Alex and Taylor you should be prescribed as a cure for Depression absolutely epic.
Marley is perfect for selling merch, put boxes of shirts in the freezer and sell them out of the window!
Honestly a ice cream van as a merch van seems like a amazing idea. Dont even need to setup a tent, build a shelf to hold Tshirts inside and sell directly out of the van.

It would be awesome if you went to the shops with each others vans, and decorated each as a caravan for the other to spend a night in. Vamping in each others "creation"
Turn them into expedition Campers, then spend 2 days & 2 nights remote & off grid somewhere, with the rules that once you reach your destination, you are not allowed to use any facilities like shops, fuel stops, public w.c's, cafes, pubs or charging points, nor borrow anything from each other!! First to give up or quit is the loser. If you both stay the distance then you are judged on a points system .
1. You must both start at same place, at same time ,& first to arrive at destination gets 5 points.
2. Best fuel consumption gets 5 points. (Fill up at nearest fuel stn before destination).
3. The man least scarred, battered & ruined for the experience gets 5 points.
4. For each breakdown you lose 2 points. ( Including return home to start point).
5. Loser pays winner purchase price of their van.

My Caterham Super 7 race car uses a T5 transmission that also saw use in FR transit vans. One of the modifications we made to the gearbox was utilizing the hardened shift forks found almost exclusively in these transit vans we never got in the USA.
There’s something hilarious and satisfying about knowing there’s a component that is shared between an ice cream van and my racecar.

Definitely want to see a race with these. However, with them being vans, the race should be with the vans laden with maximum load (max weight).

The side door is a easy fix. Cut a hole on door card to left of inside handle. Get someone to try and use handle and feel how it works from inside door. Theres a metal catch the handle has slipped past with ruff use. Push it past handle the your thumb. Dont yank handle to open door click it open with handle and pull from right at roller.
You definitely need to recreate the Top Gear Van Challenge episode!! Police chase round a race track, furniture moving challenge and a drag race!!!
