    Feign Death
    Malakir Rebirth
    Kaya's Ghostform
    Abnormal Enduranc
    Supernatural Stamina
    Minon's Return
    Shade's Form
    Unhallowed Pact
    Unholy Endenture
    These are great in my Kokusho deck.
    Blood for Bones doesn't target so it can do a similar thing.
    Also, in green you have Reincarnation which is criminally underplayed.

    No love for "Not of This World" for colorless? It's quite amazing!
    Also: Lazotep Plating in blue is really good as well and is really cheap (meaning money-wise mainly but it is also just 2 mana).

  • @qqpit1
    @qqpit1 Před 2 lety +5

    Warping wail is a colorless card that can counter most board wipes. It does cost actual colorless mana so it can't go in every deck, but on the flip side it has some other utility as well.
    Scrap trawler, in artifact decks, can recur quite a lot of your board in face of a wipe.

    • @crilleedara
      @crilleedara Před 2 lety

      That's a great point! On the topic of colorless, I really think Not Of This World should have been mentioned - even if you'd be unlucky enough to hardcast it, it will still allow you to counter Anything that targets an important piece of your board!
      And the fact that you can counter spells in for exempel Golgari is just Amaziing!!

    • @Oopsall
      @Oopsall Před 2 lety

      They've changed the colorless rules a while ago. Generic mana = colorless mana. Makes it easier to cast them

    • @qqpit1
      @qqpit1 Před 2 lety

      @@Oopsall Not sure what you're trying to say. Warping wail requires an actual colorless source, not just any source, and most decks can only play so many of those without losing access to their colors.

    cauldren of souls is amazing, I have it in my Heliod deck and its beautiful, it lets Heliod run wraths. In my Captain Sisay deck one of my favourite is Shalai Voice of Plenty. And generally speaking my favourite spell is Gift of Immortality. If you stick that on a creature that you can sacrifice for some effect like a fog or a ramp spell or a tutor or a removal etb, you have yourself an engine!

  • @nickw7125
    @nickw7125 Před 2 lety

    Cauldron of souls is a 5 mana colorless artifact that is repeatable boardwipe protection; you can give any number of creatures persist until end of turn by tapping it. A bit expensive, but very, very good once it is on the board.

  • @Crypt4l
    @Crypt4l Před 2 lety

    I'm really happy with this episode, I think you mentioned just about every important card in this category except one. You mentioned that white gets a "Target thing gains indestructible until end of turn." about every set, but one stands above the rest: Blacksmith's Skill. Protecting anything from anything except mass bounce or exile for 1 mana is pretty good.

    Playing abzan. Had lapse of certainty and heroic intervention in hand. Path to exile cast targeting a my enchanted tymna. Used lapse to counter the spell and put it back on top. Then next turn used heroic intervention to stop it again and swing in lethal. Because lapse put the card back I was perceived as less of a threat as the players felt like it would be dealt with next turn.

    I built Winota and added tons of protection. Eldrazi monument is exceedingly scary! Then there's the true and tried boros charm and selfless spirit, but also boros specials like legion's initiative, Hofri Ghostforge from strixhaven and Gerrard Weatherlight Hero that doubles as a human. That's just the beginning of human synergies, there's also Lena selfless champion and angel of glorys rise. I run spirit bonds that helps make non human tokens in addition to protecting, Mother of runes of course and Cliffside rescuer. Mirror of the forebears can become winota in a pinch or other any human. As a bonus Homura Human Ascendant becomes an anthem with +2/+2 flying and fire-breathing when it dies giving me not so much protection but serious assault power for the next wave, red style.

    I like Join Shields. It’s expensive at 5 mana but in addition to protecting your board you can also use it to overextend a bit on attacks. Depending on how people block you can use it right then to protect your attackers, or if your attackers are reasonably safe enough without it, you can save it for a surprise untap and block on the crack back.
