On the kx500 the crescent shaped drum guide goes over the spur gear instead of the exhaust valve ;)

Working on a 89 KX500 right now that I got for $100 (the po thought it was a 250) but its been sitting outside for who knows how long. Struggling to get the power valves removed at all lol. Itll be going to powerseal once i make some progress. They did a great job on my 94 KDX 200. Great video and very helpful!!!

Soak it in oil before you send it out. That will give them a better starting point for the disassembly
