Working on a 89 KX500 right now that I got for $100 (the po thought it was a 250) but its been sitting outside for who knows how long. Struggling to get the power valves removed at all lol. Itll be going to powerseal once i make some progress. They did a great job on my 94 KDX 200. Great video and very helpful!!!
Soak it in oil before you send it out. That will give them a better starting point for the disassembly

On the kx500 the crescent shaped drum guide goes over the spur gear instead of the exhaust valve ;)

Hey, man. You ever use spray moly dry lube with the laser to get a darker etch? I don't know if it works with your fiber laser, but it works great with CO2 lasers.
I tried in this video. The settings get thrown off due to this etch being an image file. I need to learn more about converting to vector so I have control over the settings.

What's a swamp thang? Never heard of such a thang. Does it run on noodles and premix? I remember one time i drown a four stroke because it has valves which are too complicated for my simple brain.

Any particular Wiseco piston you recommend or prefer for 250 two strokes (performance)?
Vertex or ProX are great cast pistons. Wiseco is forged. Whichever you choose make sure you have a good fit.
Do you know if it was a true 125 or if it was bored out?
We made custom 54mm chamber setups for Gared “Stankdog”. I can 100% assure everyone that it is standard bore and stroke.
