The best Casita video out there. Youâre trailer is exactly what Iâm considering. Thank you for taking time to explain everything. Very helpful. Simplicity and living small is what my wife and I are working towards as we near retirement. Purge, purge, purge things. Cheers!
Happy to hear you are enjoying the videos, if you have any questions let us know
I've been racking my brain trying to remember a special made closet. It's called "Katy's Closet". They make them for Casitas.
Thanks, we will check it out
We are thinking of getting a âKatyâs Closetâ for our new â23 Independence Deluxe.
@@0HARE we considered that as well, but have ended up selecting another alternative, we will post a video on this soon
rosebud travels does this closet mod
@@violettehicks9363 thanks for providing that info
So I put a toaster oven in mine. So far no troubles. I was concerned about the carpet fibers overheating and melting, especially on the bottom where the metal makes contact with the carpet. So I went to Lowes and purchased a sheet of concrete backer board. Cut it down to the right size and put the oven on top. I always check to make sure no metal parts of the oven are touching any carpet before use. My oven is about the same size as your microwave. So the air gaps are just big enough. I've used it a few times already, as I have not much use for a microwave. But I must have my pizza and air fries!
Thanks, that is very helpful advice, Iâll keep that in mind
Thanks for the information about your toaster oven. We are thinking of doing the same, and will use your idea of the concrete backer board.
Happy Trails!
@@0HARE your welcome
We just picked up our 2023 ID this month. Love it. And still learning what's best for us. Great to see someone else sharing their ideas with this model - love your ideas! We also will likely just have the two bed setup - with a 75lb greyhound tagging along!
If you discover any good tips let us know. Canât believe you fit a 75lbs greyhound in your ID, thatâs awesome!
I have watched many small camper tours. Your tour has been the most informative, realistic for small camper living, and Casita love I needed to make a decision on which camper to buy. Casita it isâ€
Thatâs so great, Iâm happy you enjoyed the video!
I love the look inside and out. Weâre saving for the ID, i already have the bedding for it. I agree with you on the tv placement. If we get one with the tv, weâll put it closer to the kitchen side. Thanks for the awesome tour!
You're very welcome, happy you liked it!
Hey Matt & Dave! Love this video! My wife and I are picking up our used '23 Casita Independence Deluxe next weekend, so we're "doing our research" on CZcams! (What did we ever do before CZcams?!) We LOVE what you guys have done with your Casita and we're taking notes! Two questions, if you don't mind. Have you guys named your Casita and Matt where did you get your shirt!? It looks super comfy!
Hey! Glad you liked it! And congrats on the new trailer, Iâm sure you will love it. We named our Casita âGame Changerâ because it completely changed how we travel. With regards to my shirt, it is indeed very comfortable, Iâve had it for a while and I think I got it at Costco.
I love to see how people organize the interior of their Casita. You have done a great job at keeping things to a minimum. We did install a Katy's Closet which I love, because being two women we do bring a little more than you do. We still have so much unused space. It's very deceiving the amount of the storage this little trailer has. We do travel with one of the tables and only put it up on rainy days, otherwise we eat and hang out outside.
Thanks so much, we are very interested considering a Katyâs closet as well.
We have a 2018 Liberty Deluxe, which is very similar to yours. We had the large bed but went with the twin bed configuration like you have, and we like it much better. Our trailer had the wood look cabinets but the gray looks so much better. Anyway, enjoyed your video, thanks for posting it.
Always happy to hear from a fellow Casita owner, happy you are liking the videos!
I love this. Still lots of things you could do to make it even better but so cute the way it is.
Absolutely, since making this video we have made lots more changes
I love The size of the little house, I would like it too much it doesn't matter if it is comfortable
I agree, despite being small it is very comfortable
That's the first time I haven't seen someone just default to the Katie's Closet, interesting and kind of refreshing haha. I like that you de-badged the trailer as well, that's next on my list for ours. I know y'all are in an Escape now so is there anything about the Casita that y'all miss?
The only thing we miss about the Casita is the bed configuration, having the two oversized twin beds compared to one queen size bed was nice. Made it much easier to get in/out of bed for both of us.
Loved all the tips! Very helpful! What is the diameter of the small table? Was it a cutting board from Amazon? Thanks so much! Getting a Casita in the Fall. In the planning phase. đ€
Thatâs awesome, you are going to love it! Yes, the table you see in the video was a cutting board from Amazon. The diameter is 16â
I just happened upon your channel.
I really enjoyed this very thorough and interesting tour of your Casita.
Iâm curious to know the year model of your Casita.
I really like how youâve fitted out your trailer, with the sink drain cover, the Command Hooks, etc.
We started with a â79 Scamp 13â in 2011, then moved up to a stick-built Keystone 23â in 2014.
Sold the Keystone recently, and are picking up our new Casta Independence Deluxe later this month, June 2023.
Happy Camping!
You are gonna love your Casita. Before this we had a 1976 13â Trillium so this was a big upgrade. We picked up our Casita brand new, itâs considered to be a 2022. Send a note once you get yours.
@@md.adventures 10-4, will do.
Happy Camping!
I'm interested in the Trillium. :)
Jon in rural BC, Canada
Thanks Jon, I responded back to your message with a link to the Kijiji ad under that video
Are you guys going to do some boondocking upgrades? Lithium battery? Inverter install?
Actually we just started researching that in the last couple days. If you have any advice let us know.
I noticed that your stove does not have a cover on it. Does the 2023 come without the cover or is that specific to the Independence model? I'm receiving my camper in August, and I like the look without the cover. Thanks for the video - very informative.
Thatâs correct, the 2023 does not come with a cover on the stove top
Wish they would remove the 3rd burner for more counter space!
Thatâs a good point, the extra space would be nice
Great video! Where do you work in the Casita when it's raining outside? Are there enough outlets to plug in laptop, monitor, phone charger, etc? Is there room for both of you to work inside the Casita?
When itâs raining outside I have lots of room to work in the Casita. I typically setup on the bed/kitchen table area. There are lots of plugs in that area, and it also provides a really nice view all around me. I donât work with a dual monitor setup when Iâm working on the road so I only have my laptop. If Dave also needed to work inside there would be room for him too.
Hey there, enjoyed your video. We are in Ontario also, did you purchase your Casita in the States or an Ontario dealer. Either way, can you advise which dealer. Thanks so much.
We drove all the way from Ontario to Rice, Texas to pick up our trailer, but thatâs because we bought it new and they only sell direct from the factory. Itâs hard to find used Casitaâs anywhere in Ontario but they do come up from time to time on Kijiji. Itâs much easier to find them in the States. They are pretty common there. We are in Fort Pickens campground in Florida right now and there are three Casitas in this park alone.
What size is the round table top? Amazon product ID?
Itâs 16â. Here is a link to the Amazon product: a.co/d/gpnkpJg
Thanks

What is your thought on that exposed vent pipe in the wet bath? It seems unfished to me, is it that bad or not noticeable? Thx
Itâs not great, I felt the same way when I saw it, Iâm surprised itâs not encased, but I suppose doing that would have made the bathroom feel even smaller. We got used to it.
@@md.adventures Thank you for the answer and your video has been the best to really show all aspects, everyone on all fiberglass trailers to never really show the whole bathroom like you did. Thank you again!!
@@crankiefrankie1no problem, happy it was helpful
Any without the bathroom, extra sleeping to handle 4 people?
Not in the 17ft model, but I believe Casita has some other options that do
@@md.adventures wanted to keep u der 17 ft. Scamp might be best option.
@@djkenny1202 it might be, but check the Casita website just in case
What is the diameter of your table?
Itâs 16â.
Where does the trash go? Is there room for a trash can inside?
We put a small trash can in the washroom, itâs about the only option that has enough space
