Jurassic World was a massive hit in 2015 and therefore, we’ve gotta a whole lot more dinosaurs over the past few years, with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in 2018 and now, Jurassic World Dominion. Now, dinosaurs have spread all over the world, which is cool, but also there are some bugs and a kidnapping. And we’re heading back to a dino reserve park.
Jurassic World Dominion definitely raises a few questions. Like what are the characters names again? Oh yeah! How strong is Owen Grady, and how FAST is Claire Dearing? At what point did Lewis Dodgson transform into Apple CEO Tim Cook? Do plane crashes ever hurt anyone? What about hypothermia? Did Owen just choke out a dinosaur? How is that hand move so confusing to dinosaurs?

I love the fact that if you watch all three Jurassic World pitch meetings back to back, you get to watch the evolution of the Pitch Meetings series... in a way that vastly outpaces the evolution of the movies themselves.

I just saw the film today and when I saw the bad guy I immediately wished that Ryan would refer to him as Tim Cook throughout the pitch meeting. I am so happy it happened. Thank you Ryan!!

I like how when the dinosaurs are chasing someone their main weakness is a sharp turn, it just absolutely bewilders them.
I mean, sharp turns weren’t invented until The Usual Suspects came out in 1995 so that checks out.

My main issue with the last two movies.
Fallen Kingdom you would expect it to be all about the island being destroyed, but that part of the story is wrapped up fast.
Dominion sounds like its all about the dinosaurs taking over the world, but you see that a little bit and then it’s straight back to a park/facility
Yeah, they could have had perfectly good movies, but instead wanted to shoehorn the evil organization so bad it ruined the movie
For one simple reason. If they stuck to that premise. It would end with a Downer ending where the Humanity is fucked and the heroes would have to accept their time is up. Or with the complete genocide of the Dinosaurs which would go against the point of these films.
And Colin Trevorrow doesn't have the balls to kill off the new cast or the old one.
Your pitch meetings are generally more entertaining than the actual movie. What a world we live in. Thanks for what you do.

Seems like the Navy would only deal with sea-based dinos, with the Army having land-based, & Air Force the flying ones. The Marines would get to play with any of them, & sponge their funding off the Navy.

THANK YOU!! I have watched a handful of videos either reviewing or mocking this film and yours is the first I've found that points out how Owen just out muscles the 8,000 pound Parasaur at the start of the film.
I like how he glanced over the fact that she didn’t outran any normal raptor. Later we see these raptors keeping up with a motorcycle, a motorcycle that is able to jump into a plane right before take-off (so somewhere between 250 and 300 km/h).
At least they were consistent. If she can run this fast, I can get behind outrunning a t-Rex in high-heels. Maybe they should have established earlier that she has super powers.
Who said Dino was the only DNA they were playing with.

I've been meaning too see the movie for a few weeks now with family. Now, I still want to see it.
fr films like this are much better lampooned over 8 minutes than actually watched in theaters.

One may expect fatigue to set in after seeing a few dozen same-format posts; but I find the premise so thrillingly creative (even to the every-post repeats) that it - and you - keep me enthralled.
I also like the moment in the black market where:

.. the first person Claire asks if they saw her daughter, it's the one person who actually did😂 What are the odds that in all of Malta, the first person you ask saw her.
And they’re immediately best friends to where mere hours later she’ll give Claire her only parachute and accept death just cause they’re both American.
Then that person leaves her entire live and takes off with you in her own plane to a distant, unknown location, knowing she may not be able to return, all just because "she felt bad for lying to you, a complete stranger, when you asked her if she had ever seen that girl" 🤣👍🏼 BELIEVABLE
I also like the part where the bad guy is getting both his arms eaten by different kinds of dinosaurs and Grady still asks him a question about his daughter and he actually gives a helpful answer before a bigger dinosaur eats him😁
Also, maybe I was watching my phone, but how the hell Owen knew where to go with the bike, and find Claire and the plane??? That was luck! 🤣

Also, why is there a "black market" for dinosaurs, when dinosaurs have overrun the Earth? The whole point of a "black market" is to buy and sell things that are RARE and hard-to-get. This is like having a black market for pigeons.

I literally did not remember "that Maisie girl from the last movie" and was like "wait, who's this?" when she showed up. I watched the last movie in the cinema, too. That's how memorable these characters are. With Dodgson I also went "huh, just like that guy from the original" but I never suspected it might actually be the same guy because that would be too ridiculous...

I didn't remember Dodgson but I could tell the movie was making a point of saying his name a lot like they wanted to be clear I should remember.
I had to go rewatch the previous JW pitch meeting because I had no recollection of who Maisie was lol
I remembered the girl from the last movie simply cause she was the one that let the dinosaurs go free but I never noticed Dodgson was the guy from the original movie. Now that I know I like that twist.

You forgot to mention when the Giga had them all in a tree house where it would have easily killed them, but the Giga figured out it was fighting six characters worth of plot armor so it gave up.

While I think "Men" is a good, extremely well-crafted film, it's also just an incredibly difficult and uncomfortable movie to watch and there's no shame in going "well that was definitely an experience" and moving on. I wouldn't even go so far as to say I liked or enjoyed it, but I also don't think it's bad by any stretch of the imagination, and I wouldn't say anyone who does dislike it or has more questions about it is stupid.
My mind just immediately went to "Men" when I heard the joke quoted above.
I remember going to see this movie with some friends, me and one other friend just kept on making random and obscure mario references throughout the entire film
When I saw this I had absolutely no idea who the new CEO was and genuinely thought the writers were poorly attempting to make a Tim Cook analogy

@@TCallier I can't speak on Joker, but Pitch Meetings is how I gain my movie pop culture relevance nowadays.
So absurd that they're bringing back Dr. Henry Wu. He's not even supposed to still be around. He did face poetic justice for arrogantly creating the cloned dinosaurs in the original novel. In fact, the movie swapped his death into being Muldoon's, giving us that iconic scene where the game warden is killed by a clever raptor (he survived in the book).
I love the whole, shocked “(s)he’s from the original movie!” comedy routine…

You forgot to mention that ejecting Claire from the plane to save Maisie first was pointless bc she didn't find her first and instead had Owen and Kayla take a detour to rescue her, only to find out Maisie was already rescued by Alan and Ellie. If all 3 of them had just crashed and their main character powers helped them all survive, they could've actually been of help inside the facility. The only thing this pointless part did was introduce wolverine-claw dino. Who by the way is apparently vegan but kills deers for fun.

It did kinda remind of a rhino, with how it looked like it has bad eye-sight (with its white eyes) , has big weapon to fend off predators and is quite aggressive.

@@kingsleycy3450 imo I don't see Wu a criminal mastermind and more along the lines of he was being manipulated, threatened and taken advantage of seeing as at the time he was one of the only people who were able to successfully resurrect the dinosaurs when nobody else could. It was his ego, ambition and his desire to create a perfect organism that got him in all of the situations he found himself in.

Wow. I did not think the Clone girl subplot could get dumber, but holy cow, they doubled-down on the stupidity. So glad I didn't go see this and instead waited for Ryan and Ryan to tell me all about it.

Honestly, her reveal about her true origin was the one of the better parts of the movie. Take that for what you will. As a Canadian, the cardinal sin was dinosaurs covered in snow (ectotherms do NOT live in cold climates) and snow that doesn't get footprints when you walk on it. I'm sure more subtropical/tropical locations won't be bothered by this as much though.
@@MrBrock314 It's established in original Jurassic Park that dinosaurs were warm blooded. Also watch Prehistoric Planet for the most scientifically accurate portraits of dinosaurs to date, including living in cold environments.
@@ExtremeMadnessX Exactly what I was going to say lol, dinosaurs are not ectotherms and are actually mesotherms, which are just animals that can regulate their own body heat but cant do it to the same degree mammals and modern, non-avian dinosaurs can. There are many dinosaurs that lived in cold climates in the past including yutyrannus, pachyrhinosaurins and leaellynasaura.
Maisie and Omega from Bad Batch would get along fine.
I like how raptors are as fast as cars, and also have the endurance to chase them from a city all the way to the coast. So fun.
Unless they're chasing a main character on foot, then they can hardly keep up.

Main character out runs dino for about 10 minutes on foot and then 2 scenes later another main character can't outrun the same dino on a motorcycle, which then catches a plane taking off.
My favorite lines: "that'll teach that dinosaur..to..be a dinosaur" and "iconic hero" lmao
I genuinely cant believe they thought people would want to see this Locust story line in a Jurassic Park/World movie 😂
Well the film is successful at the box office so it didn't affect nothing.
Also the locusts plot kinda ties into the first book where Dodgson tested modified rabies on unsuspecting farmers in Chile.

OK, I just got around to watching the actual movie. From the first scene, I was like “nope, impossible”.
I’m addition to all the stuff Ryan brought up, did anybody notice how Owen and the pilot lady crash landed in a frozen lake where the camera clearly showed water blasting through the windshield, yet when they exited the plane, they were both totally dry?
When I watched the movie and saw the man, I said "holy hell, why is Tim Cook there" 😂😂😂

The most convenient thing to me, was the locusts surviving the fire, and being able to fly (the wings would be instantly incinerated for sure) for quite some time to spread the fire. Surprised this didn't come up in the video.
I’m surprised a lot of things didn’t come up, but Ryan could’ve easily made this a 20-minute video if he had to dismantle EVERY stupid scenario in this movie
They were genetically modified locusts, so I'm willing to forgive this to an extent, but it seems that the guy who was burning them didn't care enough to make sure they couldn't escape, since they did so almost immediately after he left. That's too far, especially since he should have known about their ability to cause a forest fire.

I think if they condensed 100% of the locust screentime to them when they're set on fire and afterwards, it would have been better... and cheaper. Still a really fun movie to see.

@@mr.stuffdoer8483 That's not accurate. They're scaring kids in the USA and all over the lab shots in Biosyn as well as when Sattler sees the "wild" specimen. We never needed to see them in a lab before the fire scene and honestly didn't need to see them destroying crops. They could have covered it with the CIA or FBI map scene.
I legit thought at first in the Now This they had got Tim Cook to Cameo. It was only when Dodgson reappeared that I realised it wasn't him so the modelling is very close.
I think there might be a little mistake in the pitch meeting. There was a scene that explained that the locusts were designed to spread drought and disease resistance to the crops. Tim Cook wasn't trying to destroy all crops but his own, that was apparently an accident he didn't see coming cause he's not very bright.
