Nice work! the takedowns were really interesting in my opinion. I hope Borderlands 4 has more stuff like them+Raid on Digistruct Peak. Borderlands 3 definitely has the most room for build diversity, partially cause like you said it is easier, but also it just has a lot more stuff. Plus having so many skills in relation to total skill points. Borderlands 2 has more build diversity than people tend to think, but the biggest knock against it is having too many skill points/not enough skills

100% I can see that. I definitely think the BL3 skill trees are better built than the BL2 ones. Although I think it is more than just skill point to skill ratio. There are just more impactful skills in BL3 than there are in BL2 and more synergies and combinations you can try. (Wall of text incoming)
For example Amara Vs Maya, Red tree level one skills only.
Maya starts with Flicker and Foresight. Flicker increases Status effect chance which is difficult to see and is a chance based mechanic that if you roll well doesn't have a direct effect on gameplay anyways. Foresight increases magazine size and reload speed which you can directly see and is guaranteed to effect gameplay. (This totals to 10 spendable skill points)
Amara starts with Anima, Steady Hand(s), and Infusion. Anima increases Status effect (Damage, Duration, Shock Duration) a direct increase to something that you can see right away. Steady Hand(s) increases accuracy and handling which to a PC player feel like useless stats, but to a console player or controller player help guns that sway a lot or with large spread feel better in use. Infusion converts the damage of your gun to your attuned element. (This totals to 13 spendable skill points)
Amara has 2 skills that have an immediate application that synergize with each other that is easy to see and the third skill is useful for some players as well with smoothness of gameplay or assistance bridging a skill gap.
Maya has 1 skill that directly impacts gameplay and 1 skill that can impact gameplay.
I would love to go more in depth with the comparison and be meticulous, but that would make this comment way to long and I think it would make better conversation content if someone would want to talk about that with me during the gameplay section of my video! Sadly the friends of mine that join and chat don't care/play Borderlands.

@@stereolotus77well I mention the number of skill points specifically because it’s a common talking point about why people didn’t like the change from 72/OP8-80/OP10 (that the surplus of skill points hurt build diversity, which I agree with)
I’m pretty much in the same boat as your friends, I don’t really know enough about Borderlands 3 to comment much. Specifically about Flicker though, I personally love the skill just because of slag. It can boost high % chance slag weapons like a Snider or Pimpernel to 100% which is really cool

@@Garnet_Anarchist I agree with the point of level 80 being bad. Level 72 was definitely better for build making. Although I do think the skills themselves when it comes to what they are and how they are placed in the tree feel off to me about BL2 vs BL3. Hopefully I remember and I'll put it in better words in my next video, but the skill tree systems are more different then I thought initially and similar in ways I didn't think before.

@@Garnet_Anarchist Also flicker being able to do that is cool. Stuff like that is why I would want to have a conversation with someone about it instead of comment chaining it lol.

@@stereolotus77unrelated but I was thinking about what we were talking about, the balancing of Borderlands 2 raids. Honestly I think a ton of the issues could be solved by just removing the Bee Shield. People say the game is balanced around it, but for the most part it’s not. However the raids do seem to be
I think just removing the Bee Shield and then significantly reducing raid boss health would go a long way to fix the issues with them/allow more stuff to work with them. Or alternately they could keep the Bee, but rebalanced it so that you lose health gate while wearing it. Because the shield itself is really weak, but you get saved by health gating anyway
Remove it, then players still have access to that tool but it actually has a big cost

It is done! Video will be out tomorrow. I wasn't originally planning on posting it tomorrow, but I tried something to spice up the run and it was successful. Super fun modification to my challenge build series, I've already started phasing out using the Re-volter and this will be another thing that is quite a bit more interesting to do.
