Not good growing season here in N.Y and other states because no rain hardly for months. Just harvested my sweet potatoes and the size was terrible. This is my 3rd year growing them and the last 2 years were fine. I would water but the ground was so dry it hardly did anything and I don't have drip irrigation. Every season seems to have a main pest that dominates. 1st year was flea beetles, last year was cucumber beetles and this year was the squash bugs. I don't use any kind of pesticides because like you I raise the catapillars. If in the 20s for you next week I don't think them 2 in your garden are gonna make it. I have 3 now that are in their crysalis which I will overwinter. Enjoyed your video. Don't forget to pinch back them Mexican flowers next spring lol

Hey! Thanks for watching. Sounds like it was a tough growing year. Hopefully next year will be better for both of us. That's cool that you raise the caterpillars too. It's definitely fun to watch the transformation. I wish I could keep the Mexican Sunflower growing! It doesn't survive the winter in my zone. Luckily it grows pretty quickly from seed.

Good to see your tour!! Hahaha, the yummy bug infested pepper!! I looked up some things , that peppers can ripen off the vine in one week..but you should check for rotting. Unripe Ground cherries can ripen off the plant and will sweeten, but may not be as good as ripening on the plant. Ahi chachucha or however it is spelled, I saw one recipe for jam after typing in ahi chachucha recipe in google. I grew the sesame and chia plants in little pots. The chia looks like my red amaranth in a pot. It is a foot tall with the seed part looking like a fluffier version of amaranth, but it is still greenish. When I grew mini cantaloupes and kijari, probably half of the fruit was misshaped. I tried the funny looking melons and they were not bad tasting for the most part. I had the early hot weather here and the tomatoes were not producing much till the temperatures got cooler. The only reason why the tomatoes didn’t die was because my garden is so shady. When growing in full sun, my tomatoes died around when yours did. Do you remember about what time you planted your second round of tomatoes? Did you start them indoors? I started 2 other tomatoes from suckers outside when there was enough sucker plant to cut and they did terrible because of the timing. Anyways, never had a mulberry. Can’t wait for your taste test. Thank you for this great video. I am planting broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, beets, rutabagas, Choy sum, yod fad, book Choy, kohlrabi, Komatsuma, tatsoi, hoping to get some food this fall. Have a great weekend!!

Thanks so much! I did pull off some peppers and have them ripening inside. I will try freezing some this year too. The chia smells really nice, I was surprised by that. Hopefully I can get some flowers next year! Nice that you got some melons to ripen, even if they were misshapen. I've never had good luck with melons but I'll keep trying! Yeah, that hot weather was really tough on the tomatoes this year. I think I started the second round of seedlings indoors in early April. That was definitely a success that I will repeat next year! Mulberries are delicious! Hope you get to try one some day. Fingers crossed that mine will produce in the next year or two. Wow! You've got some good Fall crops going! I'm still so bad about planting for Fall... Every year I plan for a great Fall garden but never seem to get the timing right. Oh well, there's always next year!

Hi Inchworm Gardener!! Sorry I didn’t reply. Got a job in October. I’m not good at timing the fall garden either. Had some problems with bolting and the cabbage worms. I thought the plants just had some slug damage and didn’t look at them close enough. Lost 2 cauliflower. I hate spraying because I am too lazy. Just squished the eggs everyday. Planted broccoli and cauliflower starts because I didn’t have access to the grow lights because my Uncle stayed with us. But started some peacock broccoli from seed. They are still small. And Yod Fad. Growing spinach from seed for the first time. Got baby cauliflower and broccoli heads. Trying some onion and garlic starts. Having a hard time growing blue or scarlet kale. It stays small. Have you grown them? Anyway I hope Juniper, Wesley, and your wife are doing well. Oh and have some kohlrabi. It reminds me of Wesley. Tennis ball incoming!! I think I have fall garden video on CZcams on Jeanniemosbrook channel. Have a good week and holidays!!

Good call! I need to get better about preserving the harvest. Freezing seems like a simple solution. Thank you!

@@inchwormgardens yup ! And I dry my herbs in jars for the winter just as backups or if I’m too lazy to go outside on certain days 😝
