On the other hand ''free'' Villeins (Medieval era european peasants) who were vast majority of European population couldn't buy property, couldn't retire and couldn't even leave their lords' farm without their permission and the most importantly european rulers kept forcefully recruiting them for centuries!! So, it is a continuation of the 1st Bulgarian state. The only real gap is the Ottoman Empire, but the Bulgarian identity never ceased to exist. However, the borders are not the same as before the Ottomans. It is like saying that Poland was created in 1918 and forgetting the ancient state of Mieszko I (966AD).

The Balkans have been a multicultural region for thousands of years and we as people are used to this living style and have learned to overcome our differences, one way or the other. Conflicts are created by the ones that are hungry for power. War is the last thing that Balkans wish for. The Balkans know the cost of war and we will never let such a disaster happen again. Hopefuly someday we will create a true symbol of peace - a Balkan Union. A land united not by an ideology or religion, but by Faith - faith in the human heart, that can overcome every difference, and can not be bound by hatred.

Yes you are absolutely correct, just to do that you need to change Slavs entirely. If Slavs were not so distracted fighting each other, the Mongols would've had hard time invading eastern europe or the Turks invading the Balkans. But because they were not united against the common enemy, the Turks ruled over the Balkans for some 500 years with little or no difficulties. Few insurrections (mainly by one group of people) which of course didn't succeed really, only worked with the help of the great powers and when the ottoman empire went into decline. Today the Balkans would've been much more developed and economically successful, if we made a stand against the Turks, not spending 500 years getting exploited in every way. Sadly we didn't and now we are back to what we were doing before the Turks came, hating each other and projecting each others' nationalistic fantasies instead of collaborating with each other. Left economically depended on bigger powers, making our people leave to work abroad or stay and be lied to by corrupt politicians.

That's true af. The Balkans and mainly the Byzantine Empire were the most advanced area in Europe before the Turks set foot and brought illiteracy , Islam and absolutely nothing of value with them.
But the Balkans were also the worst thing to happen in the Ottoman Empire. They lost a lot of money and millions of soldiers fighting mainly the Greeks , the Bulgarians and the Serbs. Money and soldiers they could use to defend their territories in the Middle East and Africa.
They tried so hard to keep the Christian lands in their Empire that they forgot to defend the Muslim lands.
Imagine if these Turk dumbasses had Saudi Arabia and the other oil rich countries of the Middle East today. They would have been richer than the U.S.A.
Instead of trying to transform the Arabs into Turks , they tried to interfere more with the Christians , who would rather stick the sun in their own assholes than call themselves " Turks ".
1821 and the Greek War of Independence is the beginning of their end. After that everything goes down like a tower made of paper. Within the next century this evil monstrosity , which brought pure misery to the Balkans stood no more.

Arvanites migrated to greece in the late middleages from modern albania. Of course arvanites and albanians have the same roots but one is albanian and the other is greek. They have lived with the greeks for many centuries, almost a millenium. And since they fought as greeks in the greek independence then they are greeks end of story. Also you should be aware of the hatred between arvanites and turk-albanians in 1821. They have nothing in common besides the language and that’s also gone now so now you have completely nothing in common. The arvanites themselves have greek religion and obsiously consider themselves greeks. You don’t want to call them albanians. You might get your ass kicked. And also for you information, you uninformed brainwashed moron, the revolution started in Morea (peloponese) by Mavromihalis and the maniots. I'm from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and yes it's extremely hard to understand us. I'll try to simplify it to you. Here we go:
    1. When it comes to regular people no one is hating anyone.
    2. We don't just put borders between us in religious or ethnic differences, sports are big reason too.
    3. From time to time you will se some sports clubs supporters fighting between each other, that doesn't mean that they necessarily hate each other they just fight because they want to fight. Arrange rules, weapons and number of participants and of you go.
    4. Typically when one of ex Yu countries plays against some other non ex Yu country everyone supports that ex Yu country.
    5. Most of the people don't know why 1990's wars ever started even ones who participated in them. Because they didn't bring anything good to anyone.
Fun fact: Most of the leaders on opposite sides during 1990's were in fact close friends in 1980's. One example is Alija Izetbegović was close friend to Radovan Karadžić.

Bulgaria was always in the middle of the conflicts in the Balkans. We fought the most wars and had the most battles won (fun fact there is no battle in history in which Bulgaria had bigger army than the enemy).
