    If you're in a country affected by the New Coronavirus outbreak, please follow Health Official's recommendations. In addition:
    > Avoid public venues unless absolutely necessary;
    > Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds as often as you can;
    > Do not touch your mouth, nose, eyes, and face in general with unwashed hands;
    > If you have a mask, wear it;
    > If you can stay home, stay home;
    Stay safe, everyone!

      The map doesn't seem very scientifics, and look like it represent the biaisis of the membres of the think thank, I'm french and I would put France lower than it is right now on the map. Also over seas dependency might be much more unstable than the main land (witch is the case for Gouadeloupe and martinique for instance) and some regions inside a contry can be much different (Somalilan in Somali is much more stable than the rest of the contry).

      This meme is highly exaggerated.
      France has three big revolutions in its history: 1789, 1830 & 1848. But one should notice that the revolution of 1830, as the revolution of 1848, were European revolutions which affected all the continent.
      All the other "revolutions" were either failed (1832, etc.) or provoked by exterior circumstances (1871). The other protests (1968, 2019) are not comparable with these three big ones, given their sizes & the number of people involved.
      In fact France has not experienced revolutions since 1848... like almost all European countries.

    Dear Comment Readers and General Knowledge
    I have some serious questions to ask about this so called "stability index".
    1. I believe that we should clarify what we mean under names of "political", "economical", and "social" stability. Let's start with the political. In my opinion every country is stable politically until most of the population (let's say more than 50% votes for 1 party which has some kind of ideology, and thus it means that most of the people living in the country thinks partally or fully the same way in case of ideology, and those countries where more than one party is in charge are less stable, because it means that the people are more divided through the political spectrum. Another point is that a politically stable country is not necessarily democratic. We can agree that the history had some leaders who were supported by the population and for some time (until they were defeated in a war) they made or at least tried to make the people's life better, we can remember Napóleon's educational reforms, economical reforms, which not only kept France's great power status, but improved it a lot. And even after his defeat his people loved him so much that they greated him as the old-new emperor. In this case the people believed in this one man's idea of bringing glory to France's name. But we can have a look at the Germans before WW2. When Hitler came to power the German economy was still struggeling because of the shithole the WW1 loss meant for Germany, but he had a clear vision (even though it was bad, and pls dont say I am nacist) that the jews were the problem. But again he and his party made an undenieably great job of boosting the economy so well and so fast that after just a few years Germany was back on his feet ready to go to war against the whole world. Back to the point political stability in my opinion means a mostly uniform state where most of the people think the same way. Well now this is easy to observe in democratic countries, because we just need to watch the last election results, maybe consider the different election forms but it is basically easy to measure. In non-democratic countries, such as for example China it is almost impossible to measure if the population is actually agrees with the ruling party because of lack of data and freedom of speech. But we cannot say that China's government is unpopular, because we don't know. We cannot assume that just because it is a dictatoric regime the people dont believe in their leaders truly. Lastly we can say that "hey but there were demonstrations" because it is only a really small fraction of the people and we dont know how many of them disagrees with the demonstraters or how many just fear to go out to demonstrate. To end this segment, I would say we have lack of date in most of the non-democratic countries and that I believe in a other way of defining political stability. Of course you can come up with other ideas as well.
    2. Economical stability is basically how good a country is doing, how wealthy is a country. WRONG! We cannot compare a Romanian economy to a German or a French, because of historic reasons some countries are back in development and thus in wealth. Not only between western civilization and for example africa, but even between european countries like I said France and Romania. It is mostly because of the historical background of these nations which was highly influenced by the different political and economical ideaologies which were ruling in these countries back then. As the collapse of communism and socialism in eastern europe the countries left behind started to catch up with really high GDP growth every year (Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania...) and with this the life of these people are improving significantly and this is a stable economy, if we look at Greece, Spain, Italy they are the one's who are struggling nowdays with high public debt and bearly growing ecomony (now dont consider the coronavirus caused even worse numbers). In this way China, India, eastern europe and other developing countries should be even greener as they are cathing up with the west.
    3. Social stability is again a weird thing. The Scandinavians and Canada are at the top of the table just because of their carring health and educational system, but who said that it is the best? Why everyone believ that their education system is that good? For some reason they are far worse than some other europeans in the olympiads. And still the top universities are not in scandinavia, so what are we evem talking about. Subjectivly that system just makes the children have more time and enjoy their lifes without pressure or homework. But in my language we have a idiom for that, something like this: the plant only grows under pressured dirt. If we dont pressure them they wont be able to compete in the market competition as laborforce because they are not used to that. I am not saying it doesnt have pros but I think it has more cons than pros.
    As this educational system is Subjective just as the health care system and thus the higher taxes, it is also a wrong way to measure the country's socialization. Can it even be measured in some ways or another?
    Thanks for reading this lot!
    I welcome your improving thoughts!

      Your comment is too long, and your first point is so wrong I didnt proceed. The most stable countries are mostly democratic countries for a reason. Democratic countries are much more stable, they are more transparent, they have a free press and laws to protect freedom of information, Its much harder to be a crook and stay in power.
      Dictatorship and one party rulers, are the least stable because the only option to change is for another dictator to come to power usually through violence. Violence is the only way to change governments.

    • @bird0018
      @bird0018 Před 2 lety +1

      @@tubester4567 Dude, so according to YOU, a dictatorship is still stable very much because there is no force to kick them out of power, and thats my reasaning. I am not saying that it is good or anything, not at all, I am only stating that, in a dictatorship the country is more stable because the leader(s) keep that (with force in certain cases).
      Secondly, please explain to me why does it matter if someone has to right to freely speak, when considering country stability?
      It isnt about a the people, its about a country.

Suggest it was slighty less likely...To be able to maintain its stability! - Based on what exactly!? - As assesed by who exactly!? - In other words. We will give you top equal ranking here. But snip it off you a little elsewhere! - Ok, if its legitimate - fine. But this isnt!! Can these people tell me! When was the last coup in NZ!!? When was the last military dictatorship in NZ!!? When did the population last rise up in total strife and violence!!? How is NZs national debt as a % of gdp, among the lower rankings in the world!!? And lower than Australias? When did the international monetary fund last bail NZ out!!? How has NZ managed to continuesly hold open general elections since establishing a fully National system of govt in 1865!? (as opposed to the previous regional system of govt.) Would those making the assesements care to answer these questions!!? I can tell you one reason they wouldn't. - Because the answers will show how laughable their assesement was to begin with!!

      There is a reason it’s called “ Central America”. Because it is not North America. You can’t just rewrite the world map because YOU think it’s great idea.🤦‍♀️

      Eh, we'll be fine. We had mass protests and riots most of the year in 2020 and in 2021 hundreds of people stormed the capitol building and literally nothing changed. Government didnt collapse. The US is in a culture war but its not in a civil war.
