    Join me on an adventure through the picturesque streets of Newhaven as I commemorate the eve of World Pinhole Day 2024. Armed with my trusty ONDU 4x5 and the ever-charming Holga WPC.
    From the abandoned boat by the forsaken shed to the stunning views overlooking the English Channel, each shot tells a unique story of exploration and creativity. Despite challenges from a previous visit I persevered and pushed myself back out driven by my passion for photography and the desire to do justice to the beautiful Ilford Delta 100 film generously provided by Andy from Irresponsible Pictures.
    In this behind-the-scenes video, you'll witness the highs and lows of my photographic journey, from moments of inspiration to unexpected surprises. So sit back, and immerse yourself in the world of pinhole photography.

    every time i find myself using a pinhole with a cable release, i realize how much more i enjoy the experience of not having to faff about with other shutter systems. i do wish they all had them.

      The shutter system on any Pinhole camera can make or break it, a cable release is definitely the best option, think it's in the Holga and Zero image that use it

    I never even new World Pinhole Day was a thing. Those are some lovely shots, I think people just don't appreciate how much effort it takes with film.

    Excellent as always Will. I really like the shot of the bench. Thank you for sharing The weather was so bad I had to do indoor shots for pinhole day, but have not developed them yet

    Nice video Will 👍 Personally I really liked the last shot of that boat….think it worked well with the tide being out as it added to the “Decayed” feeling giving it a dockyard look.

    Really nice photos. I also love pinhole photography! For the shot with the bench, I would have placed the camera a little higher so that the reflection of the bench on the wet concrete can be seen!

      Thank you, yes, I agree with you on that, I was hoping for more reflection, but also feel a shot higher up with the skatepark in the background may have worked too. Will be heading back again sometime 😁

    Very fun. Which B&W filters are you using for your large format pinhole shots?

    • @WillGudgeon
      @WillGudgeon  Před 2 měsíci

      Thank you, I'm using some formatt hitech filters, had them for many years.

    Great video and awesome pictures! I have a question, what is the red filter for in some of the shots you took? To my understanding the red plastic stops the film from exposing. I am asking because I just built my second pinhole camera and made a viewing window on the back to read the numbers on the film. I used a cut up red plastic folder. Will this keep light out well enough or will I ruin my shots when I check the numbers?

    • @WillGudgeon
      @WillGudgeon  Před 2 měsíci

      The red filters work in B&W film to darken blues, helps keep sky detail in some images.
      Red light won't work on light sensitive paper as paper can be handled under a red light.
      The red window on the back will be fine as long as it's not too big, because the paper on the back should help avoid any issues, some will put a cover over the red window to help reduce any chance of light leaking around
