- NOTE: These are videos of model roller coasters that are built as a hobby. They are not for sale. There are no instructional videos. This model was built using .030 thick Styrene plastic for the track, aluminum tubing for the track support spine and wooden dowels for the structure. Train bodies were hand made with styrene plastic. The wheels are modified HO scale wheels.
The Ethanator was built in for the coasters namesake, Ethan as a surprise for his Amusement Park Themed Bar Mitzvah. I made an extremely rare exception and built this model as a present for a dear friend to give to his son on this special day. Featuring red supports, blue track and a yellow train and accents, the coaster fits a lot of action into it's 12 square feet of space. It features a tunnel under a corner of the station towards the end.

This looks awesome! :D
Very cool model and model.
Awesome!
Really cool that you do community-esque projects too.
The first single rail roller coaster
That's pretty labor intensive I'm guessing. Have you ever considered teaching them how to keep them maintained for models you've given out/sold?
This model was made for someone who specifically requested those inversions. But yes I do like double loop/corkscrews. You may like some of the models that will be coming out over the next year...as I am building some of those very coasters now...stay tuned.
Oh, gotcha. I've only made two coasters - one for auction, and this one for a friend. All of the others I've kept. I did donate the coasters from Project 31/Screams of the Past to Science City once the exhibit there ended. The models do require a weekly maintenance check and lubrication if they are running all the time, that's the one reason I do not sell them. On anything mechanical over time you're going to have to make repairs, and I don't want to be running all over doing that : ).
nice
Amezing
I have for the few that I have given away. I haven't sold any. I still have to make house calls occasionally, hence why I'm not going to be selling them anytime soon : )
where can you get those flat tracks?
If you kindly read the description, you'll see that everything is scratch built. So, if you visit the website, www.modelcoasters.com there is a tutorial section and video that shows how it's done. :)
What I meant by that is you also do projects not only for yourself, but for others.
Arrow looper + RMC raptor
I was building this style of coaster before RMC. I always teased Fred Grubb with RMC that he owes me money. :)
You sure like double loops and double corkscrews a whole lot. I would like to see a little more variety for non-recreations. Have you thought about attempting a hyper or a wing rider design, or maybe even a mega-lite?
Not sure I'm following you with that comment...?
A friendly suggestion: if you play your video in slow(er) motion, it will look a LOT more realistic.
