      In my experience I had never met any pld using clemency before and I used to be pld main which I too forgot the existence of clemency until few days ago I met 1 when I played as whm. It's funny how I could focus on dpsing and I was like "wow this pld is so good they managed to stay alive after nonstop wall to wall pulls" before I noticed they healed themself lol. Thing is I wasn't struggling and I always give regen at the start of fight until 80% or so then when it hits 50% is when I would start heal. That's why I didn't notice the pld used clemency until I actually saw his hp went up while I was in healing animation at 1 point. I was like ohhh no wonder the tank hp barely hit lower than 30-40% hp haha and I actually wondered if they just knew to make mitigation cd popped at right time because, unless it's war, tanks hp will eventually get way low and healers gotta give fat heals 🤣

    • @jacks1368

      Some of those PvP limit breaks are completely nuts. WAR gets to spam Fell Cleave while the enemy can't Guard. DRK converts its own HP into a huge line AoE. SGE creates a barrier that makes you invulnerable unless the enemy is also inside it, which gives them a nasty DoT for their trouble. DRG gets an old-style FF jump, in the air for 5s, still moving but invulnerable, and does big AoE when they land. NIN just insta-kills anything below 50% health, and if it worked they get to do it again right away, so they can chain it to finish off the whole enemy team. MCH gets a massive damage sniper shot with a 50y range. BLM can spam its big spells.
      These are going to turn Frontlines into Wacky Races.

    • @Viluveikko

    • @zephyros256
      @zephyros256 Před 2 lety +3

      @@Viluveikko since misery is damage neutral now, you can use your lily heals for "free", which would essentially also "give" you MP equal to 4 glare casts. Like, previously you would prefer doing 4 glare casts (=1600 MP) and now it is good/no problem to do 3 lily casts + misery (=0 MP), effectively giving you 1600 MP every minute (since you get 3 lilies a minute + a misery cast)

    Seeing the changes to other jobs this patch has me terrified of what they might be planning for dragoon in 6.2 since the job is pretty fun compared to the shadowbringers version at a high level. I really hate the “button bloat” idea for removal of skills that giving the job decisions and identity for it’s difficult burst windows.

    • @Spectacular_Insanity
      @Spectacular_Insanity Před 2 lety +7

      They do it for the console players. You are essentially eternally restricted to no more than 16 major abilities because of the console hotbars.

    • @Parsmadon
      @Parsmadon Před 2 lety +14

      @@Spectacular_Insanity that doesn't really make sense as an argument, though, because console players can just tap R1 and swap to their next crossbar easily. I main PLD/RDM on console, and swapping between my two crossbars (and my expanded crossbar) is trivially easy. I've never, ever had an issue with button bloat on console, since I can have access to 40 actions with the tap of a button or hold L2 + R2.

    • @cereyza
      @cereyza Před 2 lety +5

      @Boyzby Před 2 lety +7

      @@Spectacular_Insanity You do know people on PC play with controller, right? And that people on console can actually use mouse and keyboard?
      I've always played with a controller and have never really had a problem, especially with the addition of the function to hold two triggers for another bar. 32 abilities easily accessed. Need more? Tap R1 to get another 16 slots. Controller space isn't the issue, but for me who has every job somewhat similar in placement of similar skills it can be annoying trying to keep that.

    • @Spectacular_Insanity
      @Spectacular_Insanity Před 2 lety +2

      @@Boyzby Yes, but consoles have been and always will be the most restrictive element for both the game engine and game mechanics. And FFXIV probably wouldn't have controller support on PC in the first place if the console population didn't exist. Controllers are usable on PC because it's just a ported feature. If the devs didn't have to develop it in the first place, they wouldn't have. The vast majority of MMOs, which are PC based, do not support controller. FFXIV is an exception, and it comes with both good sides and bad. Good is that it's accessible to more people, the bad side of that is that abilities will ALWAYS be pared down to avoid button bloat, so very few truly **new** actions will be added. There's a reason the vast majority of expac changes were upgrades to pre-existing abilities.

    Honestly, my issues with Kaiten's loss (beyond just that satisfying animation) is that it was the only move SAMs had that actually interacted in some way with both of the classes resources. Now, with it gone, SAM explicitly has a builder resource and a spender resource ... with not even a hint of overlap. With the spender resource (Kenki) being almost exclusively for more Shinten spamming. A disappointing, unsatisfying as hell to use resource dump. This is nearly identical to the issues SCH has had for ages with its Aetherflow/Energy Drain & Faerie Gauge/Pact. Where you have a Builder (Flow) and a Spender (Gauge), but with the Spender resource being pretty disappointing to use after all the buildup. Even if on a pure mechanical level its functional. IF the Devs are going to go this Builder/Spender Resource pair philosophy, they need to start considering at the bare minimum how to make the two resources interact more effectively AND make the spender resource at least more visually rewarding.

Mch is one of the few classes remaining that are punished severely during their burst window for having issues with ping, potentially beyond their control. I'd also love to see a visual indication for Wildfire gaining in potency, maybe make it instantly detonate after a certain amount of gcds. Did they merge the other DLC with just the normal base game or am I just missing something. Any help at all will be REALLY appreciated! ❤❤❤

I see regen got reduced plus more lillies means more mp saved but besides that am i missing something? Is 100 mp plus quicker lillies gonna “fix” the mp problem on whm?

    Shortened animations for all of dragons jumps is a good thing but I'm rly rly scared of what they do with the job in 6.2 because right now I think dragoon is in a perfect spot. My only complaint is that stardiver feels a little bit underwhelming as a finisher because the damage is kinda low.
    My suggestion would be to give the ability a 10% damage increase for every personal buff you have active while doing the stardive. I know they basically removed all buff management with endwalker because everything now has a 60 or 120 sec CD so delayed nastronds aren't a thing anymore but it would still encourage players to not spam stardive as soon as there enter nastrond phase. I would be a nice skill ceiling increase, but seeing that there actually lowering the skill ceiling for every class it's not gonna happen anyway.

      I think the only thing I would love for dragoon right now is maybe have the AOE skills available at a lower level. If I remember correctly, doom spike isn't available until level 40 or so. I don't end up in early ARR dungeons in my leveling roulettes, but the few times I do it's a little frustrating to not be able to deal damage to multiple targets in a pull in Copperbell or Haukke Manor.

    • @Meitricide
      @Meitricide Před 2 lety +13

      lmao you have no idea what you are talking about. This change isn't for the players bitching about having a low parse. Its for the *devs* to have a more consistent average dps to tune the dps checks around, so we don't end up with an ultimate boss getting world first killed with over a minute before enrage because "KEKW Midare crit" or "We played perfectly, but Midare didn't crit so we pull again. Because if a "critless" Sam is 7k dps, one with an "average" crit spread (but none on midare) is 7.5k, a Sam that crits midare and nothing else is 8k, and a "godrun" sam is 10k, that is a lot of variance for them to pick apart, and if they get it wrong, shits going to feel awful.
      Are there still going to be variance in the runs? Yeah, because they aren't auto Dhit. But lowering the variance from 7k-10k to 8k-9k is going to help them tune things a lot lot more precisely for ults.
      There are issues with it, and I'm not happy with how they've handled it so far, but to say that the devs shouldn't worry about dps consistency "because the players can't see it" is just idiotic.

    There are still some things I would like to see changed:
    Tanks:
    *WAR's Inner Chaos still doesn't have it's own button (overwrites Fell Cleave).
    *WAR's Upheaval+Orogeny should be consolidated to one button like PLD's Expiacion.
    *PLD's Intervene (dash) is locked at too high of a level (74). Very annoying when can only be used for ShB+ later content. Lv 62 is the 2nd latest (WAR's) for comparison.
    *DRK's TBN still uses MP (less offensive ogcd usage) and is still the weakest tank mini mit that basically forces DRK to use several ogcds to equal other tank mits. Combine it with Dark Mind or Oblation
    *DRK's Dark Missionary still isn't available for level 70 Ultimates.
    *DRK's Dark Mind only mits Magic Damage. Take this & TBN to make a proper mit or make this a DRK passive trait.
    *GNB still has problems with moving boss/using mit during Continuation. This includes Hypervelocity.
    *GNB's No Mercy needs slightly longer cd. Adjust potency of buff or actions but please, allow everything to fit in NM window!
    Healers:
    *Pure Healers: Upgrade Cure I into Cure II, Benefic I -> Benefic II
    *AST still bloaty af. Draw should change to Play. Minor Arcana should change to Crown Play. Remove Undraw. You're going to Astrodyne no matter what.
    DPS:
    *MCH's Hypercharge/Wildfire still isn't a stack system.
    *DNC's Starfall Dance being tied to Devilment (negates Devilment's buff since it auto critDH's).

    As a tank main, PLD changes are fantastic and mostly fit what I wanted for it. Honestly, at this point I just need them to let Goring Blade stack with the DOT from the 3rd of those "Blade" skills after you use Confiteor, and the job will be almost perfect.
    WAR is now so dumbed down I don't wanna bother with it.
    DRK changes aren't good enough. The job is still way too reliant on TBN to actually feel like a tank outside of it, and the DPS it does shouldn't be the main draw of it, IMO. A lot of its features still feel an expansion behind the other tanks (must be why their level 90 skill is named after the last expansion). I'm glad they're making Living Dead actually useful, but this job's still behind all the other tanks when it comes to actually tanking and I'm really annoyed with this because it's my favorite tank. The Abyssal Drain/Carve and Spit shared cooldown change with 6.0 still makes ZERO sense until they either revert it, or add a 1200ish potency heal to Carve and Spit. IMO this job needs a serious redesign so it feels like it has its own identity again, and so it isn't so reliant on TBN, but maybe that has to wait for 7.0.

      Searing Light no longer requires Carbuncle to be active in order to use; it comes directly from the SMN now
      The potency of Ruin IV has also been increased

    • @MattBrain9336
      @MattBrain9336 Před 2 lety

      As a SMN main for this expansion, the additional 0.5 sec cast times added to the rotation is basically an indirect nerf
      Before this change, the lvl 90 rotation wasn't exactly aligned with cooldown of primal-summons
      There's like a 2-3 second window that the SMN needs to fill out with Ruin III or Ruin IV
      This same "dead" window is also wiggle room for moving around doing mechanics, dodge AoE or simply deal with ping
      The updates reduces that wiggle room
