Anyone else expect Yoshi-P to do the next live letter with a Zoom background of him on a tropical island when he starts talking about Island Sanctuary?
That would be epic :D
Have it outside on an island beach

Yoshi and his team need to watch the Kings Avatar animation and make a complete game. current FFXIV is too outdated
Best wishes! You got me to start playing ff14 about a month ago and I'm currently playing through Stormblood and I'm having such a great time!
Ah Stormblood is so good.. and what follows is also epic, enjoy the journey! đ

A lot of what we know so far sounds great. I also hope we eventually get glamour restrictions lifted however so that any role can use any other roles' gear as glamour (except for AF gear as those have real job-fantasy to their aesthetic). It would take glamour to a whole new level with that kind of freedom and it would definitely future-proof the game further for whenever new jobs or even new roles get added to the game.
I love exploring and i hope they add random chests on the maps like old ff games usually had. They don't need to be valuable ( dyes, furnitures, crafting materials etc.) but adding some rewards for exploring would be nice.
I was kinda against the trust system thing. But your contextualizing it as "Future proofing" makes so much sense. There are so many missions and only so many players doing roulette and old content. There's only going to be more missions. Of course we need more ways to play! It's gonna get harder for new players to get through the story in a reasonable fashion.
Another benefit of the trust system is definitely immersion. I started using it during Shadowbringers about a month or two ago, and I really enjoyed the seamless flow of going from cutscene to dungeon and back to cutscene with the same cast of NPCs. The little bits of dialogue they sprinkle throughout the dungeons is a nice touch, as well.
Not to mention, it becomes particularly cool in Endwalker for reasons that are very big spoilers.
And to add to the previous comment, from my ShB experience first times was kinda ruined do to people telling me exactly what to do and what to expect even though I did not ask for the information or say I was new, just because my sprout icon gave me away. Some of us prefer to learned through experience and make mistakes laugh it off. I like to figure things out and get the oh duh moments and laugh. At least with the npc's I'm not being rushed or wasting their time by taking my time to learn stuff
XI did much the same many years ago, and while the game changed a lot (in some ways for the worse) as a result of it, at the very least it's possible to complete all of the pre-ilvl storylines and get to the endgame without constantly having to spend potentially hours to get a party together.
I realize this comment is a month old, but I had another point I wanted to add as far as soloing MSQ goes. Very often, Iâm at work or school during the day, and only have time to play during the middle of the night, a time when itâs hard to find people to do dungeons with because significantly fewer people are on. With bringing trusts into more dungeons, I donât have to worry as much about being able to get my queue to pop before I can continue on with MSQ.
good luck zelpa dident know the war impacted you so directly, hope your all well and stay playing ! I hope you find peace within ffxiv like many do
I seriously hope one thing is on the docket in particular: Dalmasca. I want to see the Viera homeland as a full, explorable zone (maybe two or three, kind of like Doma, the Ruby Sea and the Azim Steppe), as opposed to a Eureka or Bozja equivalent. Maybe let us explore more of Ilsabard now that [ENDWALKER STUFF, NOTHING TO SEE HERE].
Otherwise, I can think of one change to the Trust system: let us use our Grand Company squad members. We kind of already can, why not expand the system to allow GC squaddies?
Yes. Spent a lot of time getting a all cat person squad. I want to use them.
I'm not 100% sure but I remember the FFXII/Tactics writer saying the crossover is officially over after Bozja, so I don't see them exploring more of the Ivalician areas.
I wanna rebuild Garlemald!
A dalmasca expansion would be a great way to finish the cycle we started in bozja
Just started out a month or so ago, but love the prospect of being able to tend to a garden on that island. As purchasing a house is not an option for someone not planning to log on every month. Let alone the broken housing market situation right now.
Wildstar had the best instance housing system I've ever seen, hope FF can reach that peak
facts, i remember barely few levels into the game starting out they gave you your own housing zone for free with a customized skybox like wth that was crazy good. i miss wildstar so much...
Amen to that. We can only hope!
Maybe they can improve the island we got, you know
I really want them to upgrade the bard performance system to support chords, like you can't press 2 notes at the same time, you kinda have to roll the chord or it doesn't go through. If I could do that I'd have a ton of fun with hooking up a midi controller and just playing ffxiv songs and stuff
On that note (hehe... no pun intended) I wish Dancer would get some sort of performance system as well. Would love to see them perform together
Agreed. I would hook up my keyboard in a heartbeat if I could play chords. Notes? Who the fk wants to play that lol. Heck, even Rust has chords implemented, and u don't even need to download a ton of third party softwares to make it actually function.
I think Yoshida said recently at an interview or LL that players shouldn't set expectations too high for Island Sanctuary. I have a feeling that we wont be able to enter the houses we can put on our island.
So just worse WOW garrison 8 years later? SQEX is truly a multi-dollar company.
@@schizothread wat
â@@Verpal I know this is a bait, but I'll bite: At least Yoshida is honest about the new feature and plans to improve on it in patch 6.3 while keeping the feature around for the foreseeable future.
Ion and Danuser say the same on paper. Finding it in practice though? Same damn feature/ending, every expansion, with extra/different steps to get there. Then recycling that mess to be used again for the next expansion while throwing the interesting recyclables in the garbage so they never return. I don't know why the most hated systems/story points keep being recycled when it obviously belongs in the trash going into Dragonflight; You just can't improve on garbage.
I apologize for the rant, but I needed to get that off my chest.
@@VerpalI never played WoW, so I can't say.
@@zoroarkdx4491 i mean, his point still stands. With less content per patch and a more stretched schedule, all we get is WoW garrison, but worse? That IS kinda weak for one of the biggest players in the genre, managed by the most hyped developer team, payed by the most well known japanese game company besides Nintendo.
Thank you for making this spoiler free!! Iâm just curious with current news so I can be part of the discussion but Iâm only just about to start Stormblood so I fear spoilers for my future experience.

Being able to "solo" MSQ make so much sense in MSQ terms. Who ever thought it was anything but ridiculous that our character would suddenly be allied with a group of random people he or she has never met before and will never see again to carry out these big important battles? Going into battle with our familiar NPC companions makes a ton more sense.
the duty finder is literally part of the lore
@@mynameispash6427 Not a part I'm familiar with, but seems like adding this to the lore would be kind of forced. "Let's make it 'part of the lore' because it's gotta be in the game." Still makes no sense.

Yes! Mor dhona is my favorite place aye!
More personally, I'm glad to hear you are well, and I'm hoping you can find some stability in your situation soon. Rooting for you.
Didn't I hear something about updates to the Gold Saucer some time ago? Make it Rain always gets me thinking about how, for what's supposed to be a place of fun, it is criminally boring.
Yee needs more games or a new system closer to vermillion or racing
I hope we do get npcâs to visit occasionally. That would be fun. Or it could even be a yearly spring cleaning event?
I feel like I remember them saying theyâd consider adding NPCs. Iâd love to be able to see some of my favorite Scions on my island.
Hey Chief! Great video. The game is definitely old and I look forward to the upgrades ESPECIALLY Island Sanctuary considering how quiet its been about that. With the live letter coming up I hope they address it! As always I'll support and cheering you on best I can especially during these difficult times.
Iâm glad youâre safe! I just started playing and your videos have helped me research expectations I need to go in with, and this video was a good watch as I barrel(slowly) towards endgame, so much so that I am buying the game before Iâve leveled fully!
One word: Spaghetti Code and outdated serverstructure. If they want the game to be future proof and fix a lot of issues like the outdated menus, the retainer system, the market board, housing, glam and even servertiicks/snapshots they need to work on it. All of these things feel clunky compared to other games and they force the devs to bandaid fix so many things "around" the real problem that all stem from the code. I know it's a lot of effort, but we're at a point where things get harder and harder to bandaid fix.
Aw shit just put Nomura on the project. Makes everything edgyy
@@AlchemicSoul hey don't spoil the plot now. Hehe
Maybe they need to "ARR" the game again. đ
The issue is That they pretty much have to make a new game to fix some of these issues. Yoshi-p has said that himself. For example people have asked if we can get a glam system similar to WoW transmog. Where all the gear you ever collected is in your glam chest. He said that is not possible with this engine, and they would have to make a new game.
@@marks2807 Well maybe 7.0 will be the last expansion and we get FFXVII as the new MMO :)
I just started FF14 a couple days ago. I had started up back on ps3 but didnt stick around long. I really feel, oddly enough that this was a great time to jump in. I am only level 19 but loving it so far. Will keep an eye on your channel!
Id like more sandbox aspect . Like having our own boat , customizing it , buying our own dock, going to travel the sea , having a crew to manage
I could get behind that. I think the closest thing we have to that at the moment might be grand company squadrons. I love that we can curate our team of NPCs and train them up as we see fit, but thereâs still not a lot of options there. Iâd love to be able to take my squad out to the open ocean on our very own ship, or something like that.
On the topic of macros:
There are two tabs: Individual, and Shared. Anything in the Shared section is saved across all characters for the account. So you can pick up a macro on EU and save it for your NA toon to use.
But yeah, friend's mains being able to visit would be nice.
TIL I DIDNT KNOW SHARED MACROS DO THAT, omg
I hope some future updates include improvements to the fishing system. Compared to the other gathering classes, it feels really unpolished and frustrating.
The section about deep dungeons after watching stream yesterday, that run was amazing, 2% on that stupid overgrown dog on floor 180. You did so good!
I for one am very excited about the solo stuff. Now you won't be restricted at all when it comes to what class you want to play as when going through the MSQ. I think that it'll be a great move for the future and for new players especially.
Additionally, Iâve been using my trusts to level my tanks so I can try to get more comfortable with those. Iâm currently using that to level my paladin and will soon begin warrior as well. My dark knight is in the 50s, so Iâm excited for them to add Heavensward dungeons to trusts as well so I can work on that on my own too :D
@@Road_to_Dawn I'm pretty sure they said that they plan on making basically the whole game soloable before the next expansion comes out, which would be awesome

Thank you so much for making this kind of content!
I wonder how island sanctuaries will affect the economy. Will the items obtained from island sanctuaries be bound or unbound? Will the value of items obtained by gardening go down? Will the value of housing items rise as more players are able to decorate an interior space? I can't wait to see how this all plays out!
As a onion grower who have access to 14 hardening plots, I dont rly care if they make gardening stuff obtainable thru it. Its stupid system anyway.
I love how we both grew our ratings in cc! You were several times in my team and sometimes against me
Happy to see you're still well and safe Zepla :)
"Mr. Fan" is definitely better than Mr. Fire Extinguisher" haha glad to see you safe and well!
Iâve had a lot of problems with dx11 exe errors and crashes. Will they ever fix those issues? I tried the game first when ARR launched and I remember having the same type of crashes back then as I do now and last year when I played..
Housing in XIV is amazing. Once you get past getting a house, ofc. But that's besides the point.
Hello there, I got to 60 on the PC free trial (not steam). I was wondering if I buy the game on PS5, will I be able to play with my free trial lvl 60 character? Or do I need to buy it on PC AND on PS5 to play with my lvl 60 character?
A someone on Materia I really agree with wanting cross region Data Centre visit soon. As the initial version will not really help when your region only has a single Datacenter as it is.
Question! It's normally quite a pain to find a group for coils (for the story). Does that count as MSQ for the solo content update or (sadly) no? (im still learning all of this)
Zepla, I'm so happy that you are doing well. God bless you and good luck to you. :-)
I tried few dungeons with that content help and it was ok so far, but I hoped or at least thought that they would use the squadrons-system for that.. ^^
How did you record audio with the fan on??? Noise removal, silent fan...?
I want to thank you for doing everything you do. I wouldn't be playing FF14 if CZcams hadn't recommended one of your videos to me - specifically, your reaction to the announcement of male Viera. (Fellow Viera lover here.) That video made me want to play the game, and I'm about halfway through Shadowbringers right now.
Best wishes and good luck to you in the future!
I know I am late to this but how hard can one push Dungeon NPC's? Like how many pulls can I make before they simply tap out?
I sure hope the island Sanctuary lets us have a lot of freedom with our creations. The one thing I've missed from Rift is the pretty much endless amount of freedom and customization you had there to build your dimension.
Island sanctuaries could end up turning out just like garrisons in WoW. I'd love to be wrong about that.
Im getting more animal crossing vibes then that comparison
Glad that you are doing well Zepla
_Looking forward to seeing Blitzball!_
my friends and i wiped at floor 196 in PotD, it is so punishing, and we were upset. since then we keep trying and keep wiping, but we are learning! after 150 those floors are brutal and patrols are literally life threatening. the only plus is we all got our night pegasus mount!
I'd come visit you Zepla! That would be so much fun
I'm praying for instance Housing. It would be finally an option to deliver this part of the game for everyone! I loved the SWTOR housing and hope we will see similar in FFXIV :D
O then seeds will finally be of use to me :D
The only issue with SWTOR housing is it lacks that community connection the way FFxiv has it, its just empty and your by yourself. Maybe if they have a Community Ward with Community stuff like nightclubs, spas, markets etc that people can gather around (like the Fleet except community oriented in each region limsa, ishgard etc) have aethernets that allow them to enter their personal house from there.
@@CaptainJackSawyer So the island is for farming wont be Player housing, also I myself don't own a home. And in mmos especially what makes this one amazing is that community connection that lacks in swtor you basically have empty planets everywhere except for fleet, encouraging community is essential.
I'm looking forward for the lifting of data center restriction as well, it must be feel nice to visit the world of content creator we like. One of them is Zepla High Quality.
I'm a new player as of yesterday and early game is very slow with boring fetch quests. How can I make my experience better? I am level 13.
I really hope the new deep dungeon does more to change than hoh just having a few floor wipe buttons. It would be similar to torghast but I donât mind that if we get a more traditional roguelike mode, maybe even use the duty action for lost action like permanent drops (for a run not one time consumables)
Don't know what you mean on what you saying
I really hope there's housing on the islands, I keep losing the housing lottery and it starting to get to me lol
I want you a warm...yeah very warm haha... Welcome to Stuttgart! I love here five years now! It's a nice a great place to be. Hope you have fun and try not to melt down! Enjoy German food and drinks!
Being able to solo with my main would ease my anxiety. Learn the dungeons then run with strangers with my alts.
best wishes for your move, good luck with all that!
I'm a little confused by the live letter announcement for July 1st. It says its about 6.2... does that mean it will cover 6.18 as well? Maybe DC travel is being delayed until 6.2
I thought they already covered DC travel a couple of times? I doubt it's getting delayed further.
not sure what u mean by this? 6.18 will likely come out 1 month after 6.15 (early july). 6.2 willl come out roughly 2 months after 6.15 (early august). There are 2 live letters for 6.2, one as announced early july and one just before 6.2 release. They do not do a live letter for small patches (6.18) - this was covered in the two 6.1 live letters we had before 6.1 :) Its also on the 6.1 special website that dc travel is coming in 6.18.
With the pvp changes and graphics overhaul makes me want to play. Love the great news.
I took a year break from the game but I wanna get back into it again. I miss the community.
Maybe Island Sanctuary is supposed to be a Stage 1 system to test out instanced load for a thing where players can customize something, and they plan to eventually turn it into player instanced housing? Just speculation of course but I could see it.
Wait we are getting an ERP island? I need to quickly resubscribe!
I am confident FFXIV will continue to be healthy and improve in almost all aspect...... except housing, dev love torturing player with pixel house lol.
I think the main reason that's holding them back is that to actually overhaul the housing system would involve kicking most, if not every player from their current plots, even when many of them were obtained through ...questionable means and loopholes.
Stay strong you got this. Keep kicking butt.
Woo! New video!
Your makeup is always on point. So jelly!
The thing with future proofing is, its not even always anything to do with future content or anything, like lets just assume that from now until 2030, absolutely nothing new gets added to FFXIV and nothing changes, even if that was the case, computers change, DirectX 11 and 12 will eventually become obsolete, Servers and operating systems get old and need to be replaced, there's actually a whole bunch of things that need to happen over time to keep a game online that don't even include game content or QoL stuff, which is also essential to keeping a game alive.
my pc already crashes with the bahamut vs ultima cutsene... Twelve help me, because i dont think i will not make it
Last time i played XIV i beat shb i havent touched it since. I would really love to get back into it. But, I REALLY dont wanna run it on a PS4.
But, Its good to stay in the know when it comes to XIV info and details
I think it would be really cool if deep dungeons had it's own spin-off of logograms/lost actions, where in addition to the pomanders you can also gain new abilities or passives to augment your character to better challenge the floors you're going up against. It would be especially crazy for solo runs where you could maybe be playing a DPS but also pick up attributes of tanks and healers to improve your survivability, or crazy stuff like Double Edge L from eureka where you're increasing your DPS by a lot but increasing the risk of dying by just as much, or Eagle Eye Shot which gave ranged players an execute phase of their rotation. I'd definitely prefer something like that to having to regrind sustaining potions every time I run out in the middle of a solo POTD run.
Would love to see them address the constantly growing of levels. Lv99 seems like a reasonable place to cap the game and start a new way which we progress in expansions (e.g. focus on the rental system level and progression, etc).
I don't know what systems they would implement but I LOVE the idea of capping at 99. Very FF
It's pretty dangerous to mess with this too much, I think, because levels are so ingrained in people's feeling of progression. WoW has done level squishes and made it so you can level in any part of the game, as well as including boosts with expansions, and it's really hurt the experience in my opinion. People complain about feeling like their experience in old expansions is devalued when everything will be "reset" in the next expansion, and when new players are able to jump in at almost exactly the same point.
People also complain about the "world feeling empty" and the fact that there is no compulsory grouping, sharding is used everywhere, and people can level in a variety of spread-out environments, all contribute to that.
I'm not saying that there's no way to fix this in a satisfying way; I just have no idea what it is. And that's the kind of challenge they're going to have to overcome to implement that kind of system.
In response to the "island sanctuary potential instanced housing" thing I do believe YoshP said to "lower expectations" on that. We'll see what he means in time to be sure. But I am still really excited about it. Do I expect it to be like my small house? No. But it would be really nice if they gave us a place to put all of those outdoor housing items they keep giving EVERYONE during events, including those who have no houses and can't do shit with them. Even those of us with houses can barely use them as the limitations for the yards are strict. So I will be watching the live letter crossing my fingers lol.
That thumbnail! đ
I would really like a stardew valley-type island in ffxiv where I can have a farm where I take care of it and have to get materials from dungeons to craft new buildings for it or a new type of crop that would be soo fun.
love the thumbnail
>You'll be able to travel to other data centers
this is all I want. I moved away from the friends I knew in another data center to join a more active group of friends in my current data center.
Havenât played due to irl issues and responsibilities but yeah the future looks okay for 14
FFXIV's housing system is one of the worst among most housing systems in MMORPGs. I think they won't make Island Sanctuary into a housing replacement, and my prediction is, as it was hyped-up on what-tiny-information-we-have and on player's hopes - it will end up being a big disappointment in regards to housing. If you want to have good housing for your players @SQEX, please look at what e.g. Wildstar did back in the days -> instanced housing, easy-to-visit friends or public open plots, easy and powerful to customize, everyone could get a house, etc. | Housing and glams ARE the real endgame, so give'em some real love! â„
They should go look at how Star Wars: The Old Republic does housing. It sounds very similar to how you describe Wildstar, but personally did not get a chance to play that game so don't know.
The devs will never agree to instanced housing, they're firmly set upon the idea of a community setting. On one hand, I get where they're going with it, I've met/have some good neighbors/friends in the process. On the other hand, the North American servers, folks tend to hang out at the Limsa and Gridania aetherytes, not the housing districts, maybe it's different in Japan, but the North American servers, not so much.
Watch that thumbnail be accurate in the far future with the city of Bukyo in Hingashi looking like Tokyo in Japan.
i might have to get back into ff
Imagine your character draw distance shrink to 1 ft in front of you in QS when DC travel hits.
The Genshin system sounds like the Wildstar housing. I think the best system is somewhere between what they currently have, Genshin/Wildstar, and ESO. In ESO I can say it feels kind of meh to me. In Wildstar (and I guess Genshin) you can actually see your neighbors from your plot while in ESO there are no neighbors really. So I think it's still good to have a neighborhood feel even if it's a neighboring island.
Genshin is primarily single player so you can't see other's teapots unless you enter multiplayer mode and visit their world.
I can't wait for a game (even if that might be FF14 in the future) to offer different destinations rather than simply storyline that all must go through but end up with equal destinations/rewards. People are different, even among streamers you see the hopeful, the arrogant, the confident and overly so. There are some braver than others, some whom pick different choices based on their own ideology, etc. Lets face it, ie, Rick Cambell for instance use to on board at first with the Acians.......now he jumped on board the hydaelyn bandwagon. To have an interactive game that has different destinations based on your own choices seems a bit more fair and sybolic of real life.......if not well deserved. Of course, yes, I know that this would be hell for developers and programmers. They might even need to invoke the works of psychologists and profilers to determine the different paths to take.
I think it's just the salt in my veins but island sanctuaries just sounds like a consolation prize for those that don't win the lotto but 1st place gets one too
Love this brighter new location. Stay well Queen!
My theory for what will come after EW is that they plan to....sorta reset the state of players
not full on nuke like 1.0 to ARR was but rather the expansion after EW will be like a new beginning, people will have the endless codex to read up on what happened so far and be able to start at either 6.x or 7.0, not sure on that yet
They'll probably allow new players to skip story up to the "new adventure", I think that is the main purpose of the codex
@@juggernaut93 That seems to be Yoshi's plan. In one interview he mentioned that he wanted to describe the devs how possible it would be for the game to have an alternate starting point.
perhaps, they already have parts of the game were you start at lvl1 again, like eureka and deep dungeon.
Perhaps they could add the next expansion with you traveling to somewhere you are lvl 1 again and have to level all your jobs to the new max lvl 50 again. :D
I've been playing for around 2 years now. Every class over 60 so far, and I wish there was more FATE variety. Gatherer and Crafting FATEs would make sense but they just aren't there. A lot of the FATEs are based on the story happening in the area and become outdated as you complete MSQ. Not to be spoilery but there is a literal full-scale war happening during most of the game. It would be so easy to have requisition FATEs for collecting supplies and such for an impending skirmish and we need 15 spears or whatever. They would be unique crafting recipes so you can't stockpile ahead of time and give various crystals for completion and possible scrips at higher levels. The Ishgardian Restoration and beast tribe quests sort of apply to this but it would be nice if lower level crafters and gatherers had FATEs spread throughout the regions that they are gathering from.
Animal Crossing Island with house and Home Welcoming minions sounds nice idea!
I hope they give gpose some QoL, mainly a free camera option to allow people to get much better angles for their screenshots

If I didn't have to fight to renew my sub that would def help in the long run.
good video, as alwayss zepla đ the only part i dont like is the "EU friends visiting me on NA" smadge :( (yea yea i bunderstand the reasons, but still....^^)
That island sanctuary sounds just like the thing in Lost Ark.
honestly the best ql improvement I (a dedicated casual) could ask for is better gpose options. I often find myself wishing I was a pc player just so I could do some of the amazing gposes some creators are able to do with... crimes.
Hope ur doin well Zep! Please take care of yourself first and foremost!!
yep same!! if they could provide more interesting/fun poses for gpose on ps4 đ
If they can break the link with the PS4 then they can really start to revamp the zone system, not making the whole game zoneless (that would be too radical) but dramatically increasing the size and complexity of zones, I mean look at the difference between Western Thanalan and Labyrinthos, I see this trend slowly increasing. Maybe they could move to a stream-next-zone system that will make walking between zones a lot faster and less loading screenish.
The PS4 is more powerful than the current low speccs at PC. It is not the PS4 that is currently holding the Game back.
The dracaena marginata behind you is really beautiful. Props to the caretaker of that plant.
So I'm hoping in the future, I hope we get some new classes from Final Fantasy's past.
I assume Island Sanctuary will have a limit to how many minions are running around. At least, I hope it does because if they are just passively there, then I'm gonna have to wade through over 300 of them.
