Maison means home in french, so they're saying save my home(earth)
I also wasn't sure about the song but it grew on me hard😂
SuA is an ace and knows when to hold back and when to go off. Like, she's very group focused and wants her members to shine well too. We all know she's a great dancer but by giving up some center time Gahyeon and Handong got some great moments and Dami was able to remind people that she's a lead dancer. SuA is well represented on the rest of the album and her solo song really slaps. Another aspect to SuA is that she's one of the unnies and is kind of expected to do what's best for the team. There wasn't much JiU either and she's a lead dancer & vocalist. I think she also took a step back to give the maknaes more space to shine. 🥰 One thing you notice about Dreamcatcher if you watch & listen long enough is that they want more of what Insomnia want too. When there's any kind of inequality in lines, killing points, etc it is always corrected by the next comeback. IMO a lot of decisions were made early on because some of the members had teen in their age and it's simply taken time to adjust the dynamics.
Dreamcatcher are touching on a very important subject here. Maison is French for "house" or rather "home", and they are singing about everyone's home, which is our planet. Previously they talked about online hate, now they are tackling an issue that impacts the whole planet and therefore everyone. Climate change is going to affect all of us, and it is already affecting many people. Island Nations will disappear under the ocean ("Save my home in the ocean"). Ice melts in the arctic and displaces people ("Save my home in the polar"). Forests get decimated by corporate greed and habitats get destroyed ("Save my home in the jungle") and disappearing glaciers and snow packs result in even less water for deserts ("Save my home in the desert").
People have a natural tendency to ignore issues that seem to be in the future - but climate change is here, right now. We can't wait anymore, and it is good that Dreamcatcher use their platform to promote change: "Break your habit now!"
Musically I really enjoy the song. Like in BEcause, the rock/metal vibe is dialed back a bit, but it is still there and highly distorted. Although the more I listen to it, the more Rock I hear. I especially like how the pre-chorus and chorus seems to appear out of nowhere, the chord progression in the bridge, and the epic end part. The bass line is crazy as well. LEEZ and Ollounder have done it again, and the members are just brilliant. Respect!
They also sing 100% live every time they perform this song which is insane. Dreamcatcher are the standard
this song is very different from what they usually do, that symphonic-rock elements at the end really leveled it up for me. and it kinda reminded of how they started the Dystopia Trilogy with Scream, which was a very new take on what they do!!! I'm very excited to see where they'll take this new era, as well
Dreamcatcher will be invited to perform at Primavera Sound in Spain, June, Europe's largest music festival, and the concert tour of various U.S. cities is scheduled in July. Among them, I am going to see Dreamcatcher's New York concert. 😄
I instantly fell in love with the video when I first watched it because I remembered to put the captions on (I usually forget) and realized it was a message about climate change. How many artists in music are drawing attention to dire emergency we're in on this planet?! Dreamcatcher's rock edge is always powerful too. It's really apt for this song.
I think it's more of a creative direction by the producers. They just keep the rock intensity throughout the song and then amping it up in the final chorus just to give the sense of urgency to the listeners, since the song is talking about global warming
Maison is actually a french word for house, the pronunciation is "mezon"

I totally agree - the full choreo makes the song better, IMO. The song feels... I dunno a little corny for me? But the choreo gives me such sincerity and emphasizes various elements so well that it makes me really appreciate the song much more. Now I really love it! But on first listen I was like... okay. But then when I saw the choreo for it I was like wowwww this is so cool. And now I like the song much more.
Yeah, this song is my least favourite title track but the fact they got their first win with this means it will always have a special place in my heart.
