I think the reason why you get the sort of Ateez vibe is because they both have LEEZ and Ollounder on their music production team.

The next video in this Dystopia series is called Boca (as in Spanish/Portuguese for 'mouth'). The third part is called Odd Eye and is coming out Tuesday! The Ateez vibe is very present, both groups use the same two producers of Leez & Ollounder. Boca is Moombahton mixed with rock for the sound, so that might be more to your taste. Dreamcatcher is the only girl group that does rock as part of their core sound, so the guitars and drums are always there.
The Dystopia series itself is about hateful comments and cyberbullying - the multiple references to anonymity, the 'freak behind the mask' - are all about the damage words can cause. Thank you so much for reacting to Dreamcatcher! They're seven awesome young ladies that have a great sense of humor (they do 'self-made' MVs for B-sides) and I really hope you can check more of them out! (And yes, we're called InSomnias lol)
Wow I love how quickly you picked up on Sua being the main dancer! Everyone in Dreamcatcher are great dancers but Sua is truly special.
Definitely one of the most underrated dancers in kpop. You should check out her self-choreographed cover of "Copycat"

Listen to the B sides like “Red Sun” “Jazz Bar” “Black or White”... they are the Queens of B-Sides... now for a main single Deja Vu is amazing... and the dances if you focus on it you will see elements of moves repeating or being redone because of something you have seen before... hence deja vu lol

The next video is BOCA!!! It’s their second installment of their Dystopia series, and in January 26th they’ll release their third with Odd Eye!!!
BOCA is the next song in this series after Scream and I think you might like the song better since it doesn't have an EDM sound to it. Since Sua was your favorite you might want to check out their video for one of their b-sides "Red Sun" because she created the choreography for it. ^_^

Interesting you should mention Ateez. LEEZ and Ollounder, Dreamcatcher's long time composer/songwriters/producers were also credited with writing and producing (along with others) songs for Ateez like Answer, Wonderland, Horizon etc.

boca is the continuation and next week they will release the final part(odd eye) of the dystopia trilogy which criticizes social media and internet hate. there's actually 7 members but one was missing in scream/boca because she was stuck in china due to travel restrictions. she will be in odd eye when it's released next week. the last mv with all 7 is deja vu which is also good but totally different like pretty much all their songs.

You can check out "Boca", which is a continuation of this MV, but it still have the edm vibe (although not as much as it is reggieton). But if you want something not "edm"ish, you need to check out their older stuff like "Deja Vu", "Endless Night", "Piri", "What" etc.
You came at the right time. Their new mini album drops on 26th. It's the final part 3 of 3 of their Dystopia series. Scream is Part 1 and BOCA is Part 2.

This song is part 1 of their Dystopia trilogy with their song 'Boca' being the 2nd part (which I think you'd love the mv and choreo are exquisite) and the 3rd part is actually coming out on the 26th January called 'Odd Eye' so keep an eye out!
I think you'd also really like their song from the album before the one Scream is on called 'Deja Vu', it's very theatrical and the emotiON and the music and the set designn, song of the century it's absolutely amazing
The video you watched for the dance practice is the studio version but they also have practice studio versions as well often which are also cool if you ever want to see the formations and things better but this one is cool because the outfits are greatt!
Also I think someone mentioned it but Ateez and Dreamcatcher have the same music production team (LEEZ and Ollounder) so that might be why they give off a similar vibe to you maybe

Also yay Dreamcatcher! - i think the next video is Boca but someone correct me! Dreamcatcher is so interesting in the scope of kpop GG's very different. I've just recently got into this so i can't give all the info. Also there is a Chinese member that was absent for solo activities (Handong (?)) but a dancer/choreographer is wearing a mask in what would be her place in the choreo. There is also some reason for the mask but i cant remember its an ongoing storyline into Boca too

Yep, Handong is our Chinese princess who is now back! She was filming Youth With You early in 2020, but then... well, covid-19 happened, and she was stuck in China for most of the year until SK reopened their borders for international travel. The mask (not the one on the dancer, but the one Gahyeon was holding) is to represent (I think) the anonymity some hide behind while spreading hatred online.

Dreamcatcher on this channel! Hell yeah. You're completely right, if I have to describe them in one word, it would be 'theatrical'. As rookies, they performed at a concert with a whole ass coffin.
YESS thanks for reacting. I feel the same about Scream! Not my typical kind of song but the girls' performance really stand out. Boca is the next one! It has more of a poppier sound that you might like more, while still keeping the rock elements.
And even if Jiu doesn't end up being your bias, she'll probably end up being your bias wrecker. She's the leader!

dreamcatcher is the most versatile group out there in my opinion.
all title tracks are relative hard hitting with either rock or edm sounds,.. their bsides.. are literally every other genre and genre mix you can imagine... from jazz via reggae and funk to rnb and every mix and combination of genre...if you dont want to react to all of them thats understandable,.. but to get an undersxtanding of their versatility,...
id recommend listening to Red Sun, Lullaby, Wonderland, 7th July, And ther was no one left, Black and White, Cant get you out of my mind.....

Dreamcatcher's title tracks are mostly rock. They've only been adding more EDM since Scream. Before that it's rock with metal overtones and lots of heavy guitars. There Japanese releases Endless Night and No More are JRock metal.

The next is Boca wich is Dystopia part 2 album, and in two days they comeback with Dystopia part 3 album and the song Odd Eye. Ateez and Dreamcatcher can have some similarities because they mainly work with the same producers BUT I would rather say Ateez is a male version of Dreamcatcher (if we want to use this term) because the girls debuted 1,5 years earlier (it is just me nitpicking though, sorry)😂😂😂
