    Rally Finland has the biggest and longest jumps, the record is 187 ft going 105mph by Estonian Marko Märtin.😂 And no, it usually doesn't wreck the cars. They're built strong.

      Although, they do probably still swap out the suspensions quite often 😂
      But yeah they're built for this, going fast in rough terrain, sometimes getting air.

    8:41 Sad fact: the Hyundai team drove the 2023 Croatian rally (this one shot in the video) with a special livery that showed the colors of the Irish national flag. It was in honor of Craig Breen, who drove for Hyundai that year and tragically crashed and died during testing for this rally. You said you like the paint, I like it too. And I'm looking for a model for my collection. However it was caused by a sad event.

    when the car rolls over many times is actually better than a sudden stop because it slowly takes off the energy of the impact.

    In Sweden (and Finland) we have winter rallies every year in the snow. They drive just as fast in snow as on gravel.

    Rally really is about the car being an extension of your body. The amount of control the drivers have in often unpredictable circumstances is mindblowing.
    The drivers also need to have understanding of the mechanics, since they might end up having to do field repairs between stages..
    Changing a broken tyre is very common, fixing a leaking radiator as well.

  • @jobveldhuizen7089
    @jobveldhuizen7089 Před 4 měsíci +10

    8:40 the colours on the car actually have a sad backstory to it, Hyundai driver Craig Breen lost his life during testing for the Croatia rally. That's why Hyundai put a Irish flag livery on the car, out of respect for Craig.

    Sometimes crews stop on stage to change a tyre or similar, but that takes time and the interval before next car comes along is short. Larger repairs are left to between stages where the driver and co-driver sometimes make temporary repairs to suspension, radiator and so on to get to next stage or the service park (whichever is next in schedule). Oh, they can only use tools and parts they bring in the car between the stages, so sometimes a suspension arm is replaced with a spanner and radiator is filled from nearby lake or stream.

  • @darkolengkeek5320
    @darkolengkeek5320 Před 4 měsíci +1

    05:39 they know where to go because they have pacenotes, which they make themselves when scouting the stages. The co driver reads those pacenotes when racing, instructing the driver when a turn is coming up and how fast he should approach it, so the driver can go as fast as possible.

    In rally, if you lose a door or the bonnet, you can still compete.
    In F1, if you lose few square inches of anything, your aerodynamics is compromised, and it is no worth to keep going because you will finish the last, minutes away from others.

    hey favour, the renault car seemed to have an suspension failure. its not that the lugnuts werent tightened, probably the arm or the spring damper went beneath the car.due to many bumps twists and turns it is heavy on rally cars and parts tend to break faster because simply put they USE the full potential. which also means the more strain is on these parts

    • @keyandeweerd7714
      @keyandeweerd7714 Před 4 měsíci +1

      and about the formula 1 cars in comparison with the rally cars is also different. the rally cars have a roll cage which is used to keep the body away from the driver when it crashes and rolls. though the formula 1 car is built around a monocoque (these can take very high crashes of over 80G) the rest is mostly carbon fiber, its very flexible and strong but once you hit it with speed they tend to shatter into pieces. the front wing of a formula 1 car is even that strong that you can stand on it with 2 people and it wont break.
      i hope this helps and lets you understand of how safe, fast and fascinating these cars are

Full stage onboard is probably out there somewhere, but this is the first one that went viral in my lil' rally community, originally from India (it's a global sport). Oh, and repairs? There's usually a place to repair cars at the end of a 'Special Stage', but you must finish the one you're running to get to it. Flat tire, hole in the radiator, crumpled fenders, hood on the windshield - just nurse it to the end. Not gonna win, but at least you didn't quit.

    The car whose wheel fell off has a license plate. This is an amateur race, for cars approved to traffic on regular roads. Such cars have few modifications and the competitors have a small budget. That's why such failures happen.

    • @leszekk.73
      @leszekk.73 Před 4 měsíci

      What license plates a rally car has depends on the country. This car has Polish license plates. These are license plates intended for ordinary cars. Polish regulations do not allow the issuance of such license plates for cars that have undergone major modifications. In Poland, such license plates are issued to cars that comply with the manufacturer's approval (in this case, Renault).
      Polish regulations provide for different license plates for rally cars.
      This is not a WRC class car, and its driver (Dominik Przywara) is an amateur who competes, most often without time measurement, in order to obtain points for a sports license.

      When group B still existed, crowds went way closer to the cars - people tried to actually touch the cars that flew by. Then it was standard procedure after the race, to remove all the fingers from the cars, sometimes people got even killed. Nowdays it's way more restricted for the audience, people stay mostly on the inner side of curves and behind trees and rocks. Are public roads, so people can still come and go pretty freely, but is much more restricted as it used to be... now there are security guards and all, warning whistle if car approaches, etc.

  • @CeKyPuTo

    About Formula 1 cars that arent very well build! Actually they are very safe, you can survive crashes with 300+ km/h in them! The reason you see parts flaying everywhere from them is that they are made like that on purpose! In crash the outer parts of the car take some of force of the impact and then detach to prevent injuring the pilots! So next time you see flying parts everywhere that means the car did its job to protect the pilot in case of an accident! Nothing to do with bad constructions of the cars!
