The only Black Friday sale I ever attended was over twenty years ago in Houston, Texas at a Target. People in line were orderly. When they opened the door they handed us gift bags, and offered us donuts, Danishes, orange juice, coffee or milk. I didn't find the sales impressive and just got my normal list and went home unscathed. But I would never set foot in a store on Black Friday for a deal. Not when you have rebates, Ibotta, Receipt Hog, etc to pile on top of awesome online deals for things you need. As for needless consumption, I'm done. Besides all that we buy is but a temporary trinket destined for the trash heap when it wears out or someone else's hands when we die.

I remember midnight shopping on Black Friday. It was always fun. I never witnessed a confrontation or fight. It was festive, people were in a good mood, there was music playing and every once in awhile you would find an amazing deal. I miss it actually.

There was actually an employee at one of the stores who did die because he fell over and a load of people trod on him running through the doors no one cared all they wanted was a good bargin and unfortunately somones life was taken from them because of that.
