I live in a really rich part of the OC in california, and when I went "black friday" shopping with my friends, the mall was practically empty, because no one needs theese petty savings. It must suck to be poor. Seriosly, most things were only like 10% off
im going this year to best buy for a ps3 to get 2 free games with it, they open at 5am, wat time should i be there to wait, will the ps3 bundle sell out really fast
Yes... Black Friday is, for many people, a time to buy all of their Christmas gifts at reduced prices. I'm sure some buy things for themselves, but that's the premise. However, it's still ridiculous. :P
I live in NZ so I don't think we have black friday sales. Is the stuff really that cheap that people wait for multiple hours and get tonnes of stuff? I mean, most of that stuffs quality is 2 dollar store quality...
I honestly had tears in my eyes while watching this. It's sad that this is how people act just to get their kids the toys they wanted or a tv they wanted. I am pretty sure the kid would not die if they didn't get that one toy. And I garantee if you ask you child what happened to the toy you fought for last year they either don't use it anymore or it is broken.

@TheRorySteel Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving and its the biggest sale day in the country for pretty much any retail store you can think of...best buy, target, wal-mart, home depot, fred meyers, your local mall, etc etc. Now people get so EXCITED over deals they tend to get a little well physical as you heard that lady say there were brawls by the vacuums :p

okay I work at the sandy walmart, part time, because i'm a college student, and this is by far the craziest thing i've ever seen, it is a lot worse than the BYU VS. UTAH (HOLY WAR) GAME) and believe me you don't want to be the only opposing fan walking alone. Anyways I personally find it funny, because people sucker punch, push, bite, and even act creepy just to get a shot at a damn toy that the kids will play with for two weeks then forget....... People as well try to steal, and I love watching

If we run out of them customers get pissed and ask us to call other stores to see if they have any left, and or can hold one for them. We don't do holds during this time of year unless its lay-way or a customer just has to come back later to pick it up and has already paid for it. I figure if it's something they don't really need don't get it. OH BUT THE SELLS WE MUST HAVE DA CRAP!

You know that what you get on black friday are actually stuff that are old and less quality than the up to date stuff (especially with electronics). Lowering prices like hell AND tricking people into thinking they are the buying all "hot shit new stuff" for huge discounts are the main causes of profit for companies and stock purchasers.
I think this year I'm going to just mount a sniper on top of the Gamestop across the street from Best Buy and just take out all the people I see with any item that saved them more than $50.00.
I wouldn't say it's the laziest in the sense of how much people here get over worked and practically 2 weeks to no vacation time at all. In other parts of the world workers get 1 month of vacation time.
@Flaumenkopf Your right, what I meant was that when the economy goes down ppl lose their jobs and they can't pay off their debts (e.g.mortgages, cars, credit, etc) so these institutions ( e.g. Freddie Mac Fannie Mae, Citigroup, JP Morgan Chase, AIG, Bear Sterns, etc... etc..) who should collapse are handed a big welfare check. Now we, our children, and their children have to work, work, and work (time) to pay off all that money because our way of life has become more important than freedom.
