    I can’t help but agree. Their pricing is insulting, I’d like to see some push back from more knife people. Since the introduction to the $540 narrows I vowed never to buy a Benchmade again.

      I said I wasn't going to buy anymore after the autocrat. I actually love mine , but 440$ for an otf with s30v. That cost more than most of the other American made otf's . But when the super freak came out it was 200$ for m4 and g10. Usually Benchmade treats g10 like gold. Adds 100$

    Agree with the price issue. Bought a Bugout and it came to $190. It is at best a $90 knife......

    I just picked up one of these at a local shop for a blade swap, put this blade in my black bailout scales. They were blowing their knives out, and I picked up the 2301 for $160 OTD. I do agree though, Benchmades prices have gone way to far out. With what I paid for the 2301, you can see what Benchmade is charging their dealers, cause I guarantee the place I picked up mine didn't take a loss on it.

    Tip-down always offers faster deployment unless it's a very small knife. I agree with the consensus that this model and many Benchmades are way over-priced, but fortunately there's the Presidio II, which is superb and much more reasonably priced.

    Yes its incredibly light. I understand your affection for a chunky knife, feels like more for the money I get it. Welcome to 2024 with this tech. I have tested this knife with the green aluminum handle, black hardware m4 partial serrated blade and lanyard carbide tip (which will break car glass if needed). Please note the lanyard hole is removable with options. I think you should have mentioned that while you slamed it down. IMHO the test knife your showing is butt ugly. I have tested this knife. I can pry master links off motorcycles and cut rope all day. M4 has exceed my expectations. The version I tested was $270 dollars 6 mos ago and worth every penny. Im loving the patina its very slowly getting, real nice. I'm sure it will out live me even with hard use.

    My bailout, green handle gray coated m4 blade, lives in its box. Though I’ve tried to like it, I just don’t. It leaves me questioning how so many reviewers raved about it when it hit the market. The handle is too thin, the glass breaker is stupid and in pocket wants to snag me when reaching past it. Lastly, the tanto tip was ground unequally.

    • @nicholasedwardbehindtheedg2343
      @nicholasedwardbehindtheedg2343  Před 8 měsíci

      I think a lot of reviewers don't like crapping on such a prominent knife company. I could be wrong. Also probably why nearly zero companies send me review samples lol!
      I have been critical of Benchmade in the past especially certain models, but I respect the company and what they have done for the knife industry. Still, it's not a great model to me.

    BM and a lot of other companies will Eventually with out a doubt and all there share holders pulling the greedy string will Price them selves out of the market in time. Because when things go up in price you all know they never ever come back down to a reasonable dollar amount because these companies don’t want to have the greedy egg on there face if they were force to reduce there prices when the proverbial bottom goes out of the tube. I do have older BM knives when they were priced that the average working guy could afford at the time because let’s face it a knife isn’t a necessity for 98% of people it’s just something to waste money on. Am i right because it looks cool and I need a 300.00 dollar box cutter.

    You know...I just don't like it. Looks cool with the scaling, but as I am holding the one I just got at REI it doesn't feel like it's worth the $275.00 price. I feel the Bugout is better in comparison.

    I dont love Benchmade warranty. I want a knife company like protech who sent me q couple xtra springs when I was having problems with really cold wet weather wearing out the spring faster than normal. I know not allot of companies will do that, but for something simple why not. Like somehow if a screw has to come out ,it must need a professional.🤦🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️

      If one has money to burn, then by all means buy Benchmade directly from Benchmade at MSRP. They love it and they make a tremendous profit from direct to the consumer sales. Benchmade sells their knives to dealers for 50% of MSRP.........so that titanium handled bailout that sells for $600.00 MSRP , a dealer pays half that. Dealers are not allowed to advertise their knives for any less than 10% off MSRP. Thats called MAP ( minimum advertised price )
      If you let your dealer know you are fully aware of Benchmades pricing , one can get an extremely good deal on one of their knives, especially if its a model that isnt the most popular.
      I have quite a few Benchmades, and I usually get 30 to 35% off MSRP. If a dealer wont negotiate with me on price, I just walk and find one that will.
      We, as the consumer, have the ultimate say so as to how much we are willing to spend. IMHO, in todays economy, everything is negotiable.

    I am just not interested in Benchmade knives at the moment. They are good knives, so that might change. They just don't seem to be paying attention to the community in general. They have their customers that will continue to buy the products so I can understand why they don't feel the need to pay attention to others. I don't need them, and there are plenty of knives out there that I want to buy. No problem. 😆

  • @Salamando3D
    @Salamando3D Před 8 měsíci +3

    The one thing I don't get is why people are so triggered by BM's high prices. Yeah some of their knives are priced pretty high. But nobody has a gun to their head being forced to pay those prices. Why spend so much energy being angry about it? Just move along. That criticism isn't aimed at you, but everybody else who's on that Benchmade hate bandwagon that will no doubt show up here to cheerlead your opinions. And you're right, we're all entitled to them. Just seems silly that some people get so fired up about it. A knife is worth what someone is willing to pay. People are making their own decisions about what to do with their own money when they choose to buy a Benchmade, full price or otherwise. To your credit, at least you're not attempting to tell people what to do with their own damn money 😁
    But it's not just inflation. It's the economics of running a large company that doesn't subsidize any production costs with overseas knife OEM's and paying a lot of employees (BM employs 380 people) 'living wages', benefits, and probably retirement. Stack that with what I am assuming are some pretty high costs of doing business in woke Oregon with all kinds of legislated corporate taxes and fees and forced high minimum wages.
    They get my respect for making everything in the USA, though. I won't spend $600 on a Bailout, but I bet I could score one off the secondary for a really good price in a few months 😄 Cheers bro! 😎🤘
