- Varicose veins are enlarged, swollen, and twisting veins, often appearing blue or dark purple. They happen when faulty valves in the veins allow blood to flow in the wrong direction or to pool. This condition is most commonly found in the legs due to the higher pressure endured from standing and walking upright. Symptoms may include pain, swelling, heaviness, and aching in the affected limbs, as well as itching over the vein. While varicose veins can be a cosmetic concern for many, they can also lead to more serious health issues such as skin ulcers, bleeding, and venous eczema.
Risk factors for developing varicose veins include age, genetics, obesity, pregnancy, and prolonged standing occupations. Prevention strategies can involve regular exercise, maintaining a healthy weight, elevating the legs, and avoiding long periods of standing or sitting.
Treatment options vary from lifestyle changes and compression stockings to more advanced procedures like sclerotherapy, laser surgery, and vein stripping. Early diagnosis and treatment can help manage symptoms and prevent complications.

Agar sirf cramps hai toh DVT mat socho. Ek specialist se milo. There r many common reasons for cramps like dehydration, electrolyte imbalance etc
