- In this video, we show a recorded case of minimally invasive surgery of varicose veins. It's better than laser ablation of varicose veins. Varicose veins can now be treated with venaseal. details of this novel treatment option for varicose veins is as follows:
VenaSeal is a minimally invasive and modern treatment for varicose veins, a medical condition where the veins in the legs become swollen and twisted. This treatment method is also known as "VenaSeal Closure System" and is a relatively newer alternative to traditional treatments like endovenous laser therapy (EVLT) or radiofrequency ablation (RFA). Here's how VenaSeal works and some key information about it:
Procedure: VenaSeal treatment involves the use of a special medical adhesive or glue. During the procedure, a tiny catheter is inserted into the affected vein through a small incision. The catheter is positioned precisely using ultrasound guidance.
Glue Injection: Once the catheter is in place, the VenaSeal adhesive is injected directly into the varicose vein. The adhesive effectively seals the vein shut.
Closure of the Vein: The adhesive causes the walls of the treated vein to stick together, sealing it off. This stops blood flow through the varicose vein, relieving symptoms and rerouting blood through healthier veins.
No Need for Heat or Thermal Energy: Unlike some other treatments, VenaSeal does not rely on heat or thermal energy to close the vein. This means there is no need for tumescent anesthesia (numbing solution) or multiple injections along the vein.
Recovery: One of the advantages of VenaSeal is that it typically allows for a quicker recovery with minimal discomfort. Patients can often return to their regular activities soon after the procedure.
Effectiveness: VenaSeal has been shown to be effective in closing off varicose veins and relieving symptoms. However, the long-term effectiveness and durability of the treatment may vary among individuals.
Side Effects: Like any medical procedure, VenaSeal may have potential side effects, such as temporary bruising, inflammation, or phlebitis. In rare cases, there may be allergic reactions to the adhesive so it is recommended to take the guidance of an Expert/Experienced Doctor.
Consultation: If you have varicose veins and are considering treatment, it's important to consult with a vascular specialist or interventional radiologist who can evaluate your condition and recommend the most appropriate treatment option for you.
Keep in mind that the choice of treatment for varicose veins depends on the individual's specific condition, the size and location of the affected veins, and the recommendations of the healthcare provider. VenaSeal is one of the options available for managing varicose veins, and your doctor can help determine if it's the right choice for you based on your unique circumstances.

Hi sir. Iam suffering from this problem in left leg. Got the EVLA done in 2010 but reoccurance happened in short time. Now want your suggestion weather to get the EVLT done again or go for venaseal. Venaseal will cost me 2.5lac ( some amount may be refunded by the employer) but EVLA will be almost free (from PGI chandigarh) as whole of the amount will be refunded by the employer. Please advise
Hi. No doubt Venaseal maybe better than EVLT. But in good hands, EVLT can and has equally good results. If it's that big a cost difference, go for EVLT. My personal opinion.
Thank you so much for replying so quickly. You are great
