- This is NOT a blind reaction, I have read LN 10.
In this episode we see Subaru start his trial, which is to face his past.
We meet his Father Kenichi, and his Mother Nahoko(Not sure if I spelled those correctly.) In the past, Subaru seemed to be pressured by living up to the title of 'Kenichis Son', which, in the end really put a halt on his life.
But, by having these wonderful conversations with his parents, hes able to move past that, and get out what he really wanted to say to them, leaving no regrets behind.
"Family is not an important thing, it's everything."
A beautiful episode indeed.

The fact that u already read this scene on LN and you knew it was coming, but to animated it bring to life still get the emotional scene. That how well-written the story line, the plot, the character development.

if the WN brakes a man at this point, this episode just destroyes. I seen this ep 5 times alreadty, still crying.
I was prepared for this episode or that's what I thought, but even knowing what was going to happen I can't still process how emotional it was. it was an amazing job from white fox I didn't expect at all. now I'm surprised
I feel exactly the same way, knew what was coming, but still got me good. Was a wonderful episode.

Someone actually asked the author how the parents are doing in a Q&A and he answered (Not spoiler because it isn't from the source material)
_They're enduring the disappearance of their son somehow or other. The police investigation has no leads, and Kenichi (father) is trying to comfort Naoko (mother) but it's not than effective. They're passing each day tearfully and depressed for months without know if he's dead or alive.
It get worse when you realize his moms last words to him were "take care" and he responding with nothing, and his parents interactions weren't with the developed Subaru you saw in this episode just that everything were an illusion created by Echidna.
That was heartbreaking
Wow that gave me chills, thanks for the info. I always wondered how they were handling it. That is pretty damn depressing, especially the “Take care” part. That’s why he made sure to say something back when she said that in the episode, so he wouldn’t have regrets like last time; even if they’re just illusions created by Echidna. Thanks for the comment
