Hehe, the only thing I might suggest for this season that might be up your alley is the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni remake, except that it's unknown currently whether it is in fact a remake or a sequel, or even to what degree it could be both, considering the nature of the narrative structure. It's a psychological horror/mystery with a visual novel as source material. So far, the creator, who wrote the script for the new series, claims that it is fine for people unfamiliar with either the VN or the previous anime to watch, so I would tentatively recommend it. I've watched the original anime, which is pretty dated now (2006, 2008) but still quite good in some respects, but I only recently (this week!) started playing through the VN. The writing is excellent, and the lighthearted parts can be really funny. However, the downside is the ~80 hour play time for the whole thing, so your mileage may vary.
I’ve actually been watching that show, Zach recommended me that, so I’ve been watching that with him haha. I’ve been really enjoying it, so yeah that’s a solid recommendation for sure lol. (Been watching the original)
It was already said to be a Sequel not a remake. The 2020 version will be different from the one that came out years ago however the Author has said that it’s okay to watch the 2020 version if you haven’t watched either
Hey, sorry about the reactions being so late. I work 6 days a week so it’s been hard to find time to edit. It’s also mainly cause the light novel stuff takes a lot of time to do, so I may skip on doing that until I get caught up to the latest episode. But yeah, I have the first 2 episodes nearly done(the second one was sooo good 😳) Sorry again, I’ll have em out soon!
I do love the light novel comparisons, so I'd definitely enjoy it if you added them in at the end of future videos. I really want the English translations for Re:Zero to pick up already. The Japanese releases are over 10 volumes ahead in the middle of Arc 6, and here we are not even able to read to the end of Arc 4. There are fan translations of the web novel, but for the most part the availability is inconsistent, and the quality of the translations is not great, especially for Arc 5 and beyond. I feel like I'm just going to have to wait.
Yeah I’ll definitely be picking up the next couple volumes and do a comparison. It’s too bad the translations are so far behind :/. I haven’t read the web novel, probably gonna stick with the LN. thanks for the comments :)
