@@puppetstudio4989 you also don't need a smartphone. you may not have read up on addiction psychology, but habit and stimulus and hormonal reward systems in your biology, especially starting at a young age, are extremely difficult to overcome bc they become so ingrained. Whats the point of you trying to disuade this guy from using a tool that could help him, regardless of the obvious fact that his will foundationally has to be the primary agent behind change. It's easier to strengthen your will when there's less chains binding it.

The problem is that here in Europe, if it doesn't have Whatsapp, you're completely cut out from everyone. It's so popular that carriers are no longer including texts in phone plans, so SMS is pretty much useless.
Yes. Same in East Asia. Korea, Japan, China all use their own message apps.
Form factor, essential Features, battery life, less distracting i like it. I’ll look into this more when they hopefully do the music player & navigation etc.

I tried that already. Using a non touch screen for texting is unbearable. I basically stopped texting. You’ll need a touchscreen.
They’re not 4g so you’ll have more call issues and besides, this doesn’t look like a drug dealer burner phone

Depends. Yes, for $10 you're not gonna get WhatsApp, but CZcams works. However, for $70 you can get a Nokia or LG feature phone with 4G and WhatsApp (and also CZcams, of course).

I am wishing for that to happen despite of the fact that I use smartphone quite a lot but have cut in recent years.
I love it! It's horribly impractical for the price, I definitely think they need to come down in price to reach a wider audience, but imagine having such a stylish and disconnected companion for daily use. Heck, imagine having a phone like this back in the day (before smartphones became huge) - it's a dang neat little package!

I do: they were Microsoft's alternative to the iPod, especially the iPod Touch. The Light Phone 2 is quite different, in my opinion; much less features and much more minimalism in it.
