  • Emmanuel Acho, Joy Taylor, LeSean McCoy and James Jones reflect on whether Deion Sanders' first season as Colorado's head coach was a success or failure. Prime's Buffaloes finished 4-8 on the season, losing eight of their final nine games. Colorado also lost five commits this offseason.

      2:11 Acho said a lot and nothing at all. If that was “doing his job”, it wasn’t done well. He didn’t answer the question. The question was; was the Colorado season a success or failure? There is only one answer being as though they won 1 game last season. This is a layup, and Acho is serving us a word salad. Step it up Acho!

      They…especially Joy & Shady think that just because Colorado gets talked about on their show (that doesn’t cover much if any college football outside of Deion Sanders btw) that means it was a success….meanwhile any normal college football podcast or show Colorado isn’t even a topic because of how much they don’t matter…the only people that talk about Colorado are mainstream media shows like Speak, undisputed, & first take….real college football fans who actually watch and have been watching don’t care about a 4-7 team outside of a good laugh at mainstream media making a million excuses for their horseshit predictions they got from a double OT win against a MW school who had a losing record in the MW lmao

      How is it the media's fault? Deion called out the media after the first win. I.E. Deion asked the media, "Do you believe?...We keep receipts." If the media gives criticism of Deion, then there is racism or Uncle Tomism. If they praise him and CU doesn't win at the level Deion touts, then it's the media's fault for not being objective. In the end, the media needs ratings and clicks to generate revenue. If there is no revenue, there's no business.

      Bottom line CU’s first season; with Deion, is a failure. If, he had played for a team like the one he coached; this season, he would not have called them a winning team. I am certain if there was a transfer portal, he would have made a business decision to hit that thang!😂

      @@EJBanks The problem isn't just a QB issue. Would any RB want to go to CU after seeing how the offense is specifically tailored to show off Shadeur? Do you think any 5-star O-lineman wants to commit to a program that simply cannot run the ball and has an offense that got the QB killed? What 5-star D-lineman wants any part of THAT defense?? Nah man, you can't coach like Deion and expect to retain talent. He made this all about his son and that's fine for a father to do, not a football coach.

I would have loved the trajectory to be going upwards to give me more hope for next year. My eyes go to the QB and lot of blame goes to Sheduer. He needs to be better. Holds the ball too long, doesn't run enough and doesn't extend plays enough. He's gotta do more with his talent for this team to win 6 to 8 games next year.

    Name me one program in the history of College Football that has lost 8 of of their last 9 games and 6 in a row ,and the media still praised them and considered them and the season a success

  • @devilsreject5343
    @devilsreject5343 Před 6 měsíci +3

    In my opinion, he won. He brought more attention to this program than they've had in probably their entire history, aside from that 2-3 year stretch about 20 years ago. He revamped a program that was not competitive in any way last year (lost virtually every game by 29+ pts). He turned over the entire team with virtually 70% of it not being on the team a year ago. This wasn't some program that was previously an elite program, this wasn't even a has been program.
    Sure, the media over-hyped them. Sure, Deion put a target on his team. And yes, to a certain degree, you can say they blew a couple games.... but, they showed something that this team didn't show at all last year, or really, most years. They grabbed big name recruits. They are a team worth watching in the coming seasons.... and I also think Prime learned some valuable lessons as well from it.

      Disagree. Northwestern was also 1-11 last year and they went 7-5 and overcame more adversity than Colorado. They lost their head coach before the season started, had a interim head coach for the whole year, has less talent than Colorado, played in a arguably tougher conference and last but not least are bowl eligible. Another team is USF who also finished 1-11 last year and they finished 6-6 this year. Colorado has more talent than both these teams. there is absolutely no excuse for Colorado to go 4-8 especially if there are teams out there that did better with less.

      @@smileyr Losing a HC is tough, but they still had the remainder of their coaching staff, even with the interim HC. Colorado literally replaced about 85% of the players on the roster from 2022 to 2023. I believe they only carried over 16 or 17 scholarship players from last year. You also had many coaches for Colorado as a first time even being around these players. Neither USF or NW had to overhaul their team like Colorado did. It was going to be chaos for anyone, and I think given the way the season turned out, it was a victory. Now, does this guarantee future success? That remains to be seen..

These are at a minimum D1-level athletes (meaning they are elite at some level) who could have helped Neon’s team who had NEVER PLAYED TOGETHER and if nothing else helped with the new/young players adjust to a new environment, perhaps with academics! You CANNOT tell me that the ENTIRE roster from last year were ALL SCRUBS (meaning out of 100 players NONE had potential?!). The difference is made by the coaching! 🤦🏾‍♂️ Neon is a flippin’ IDIOT.
