- Cheap alternative to recover a stuck Renegade, or to use a Renegade to recover a stuck vehicle when the Renegadr does not have a tow hitch, tow hook, or aftermarket bumper.

Geat idea. Recovery is a big problem for non Trailhawk models. It looks like your great hack will do the trick. Thanks for posting.
Extremely clever. Was always looking for a recovery solution and I think I found it, would’ve never thought of this.
Definitely metric on the renegades. Very genius ideas! Word of advice. When you get pulled out and your use the shackle do not tighten the bolt 100% thread to tight then back it off quarter turn. If its tight you will bind the shackle and it wont release easily.
Nice hack! Smart thinking.
I just bought a set up like this because of your video. I have a 2021 Latitude. I think it will work. You said yours was a 4inch lift. im hoping the straps dont hang to low to the ground when not in use on mine. I can provide an update later when i get them installed. I have been looking for a viable off-road (or on-road, in a snowbank) recovery situation option. I have very little faith in the eyebolt style tow points, and even if i DID, there are only one on the rear and one on the front. I have seen renegades with the front ends damaged from using those hooks as a recovery point.
You option is 100% better and is frame attached..unlike those non-TH eyebolts. Jeep may have changed or reinforced these points..but on earlier models, the front bumper was an aluminum alloy and would bend and break when used for recovery. I got stuck in the snow this week, about 12 to 16 inches of snow on an unplowed street. Had to push it out because nobody wanted to hook onto the stock vehicle, including me. Hopefully thee straps help.
The straps will not hand too low, so no worries there. I wouldn't use the factory spots on the bumper to pull it with a flat tire. The bumper will give and tear right off. I no longer have the renegade, but glad my video is still helping others. Sorry about your luck getting stuck, but hopefully if it ever happens again, this will help tremendously.
@@sfbboys2 I hope so too! Thank you!
Why didn't you use the bolt in the same area where the rear differential sub frame is attached to the unit body. Since there are 4 attachment points for this sub unit it seems it would be just as strong for attaching the strap. Thanks for sharing your video.
Been racking my brain for awhile on my 2017 Latitude. This looks pretty good! I haven't gotten under mine but I know from pulling my semi truck in the landfill that I used to have a chain on the front between the bumper attachment points and it would self center the pulling cable from the bulldozer. Do you have any thought on the front for pulling, I am hoping the frame in accessible for something similar but am worried a little about popping my airbags!!!!
I never figured out a way to do something for the front unfortunately. I traded in my Renegade for a Wrangler a few months ago.

All you need is 2 of these and a set of decent shackles. Then you can use any tow straps or properly rated rope to connect the 2 into 1 pull point.
Well over a year later how did they work for you?
Used twice on trail, once off trail. They worked flawlessly. I recently traded in for a Wrangler though so I no longer am in the Renegade game.
Sweet thanks. I was afraid it'd put pressure on exhaust and bumper
@@TheJimmyswint no, as seen and stated in the video, the bumpers have so much give that it was not an issue. And for a quick easy pull, it doesn't put enough pressure on exhaust to cause any issues. I never had to jerk it hard, and when being pulled we went easy, we did not slam it.
