  • In this video I talk about buying a tow hook recovery for your non trailhawk Renegade. As we all know only the trailhawk Renegades came with tow hooks from the factory. Im all about saving money and buying the best bang for your buck. After doing enough research I found a good option for tow recovery for my latitude. Hopefully this video can help you guys with your options, and maybe go with the same route as myself.

    I actually ordered chrome tow hooks and the hardware from Mopar for the front of my Cherokee. I got the Latitude Lux trim. I wish they would have tow hooks as an option across the board.

    Man I just watched your Kayak setup video last week and then I stumbled across this today! Trying to find optimal tie down points to attach a bow and stern line for the renegade. I am stupid surprised that our cars did not come with even one of these tow hooks. We didnt even get a spare tire or an air compressor and had to hassle the dealership for an air compressor at least. Gonna pick some of these up for the tie down points. Thanks for the vids

      They would make perfect tie down points. I struggle trying to find a good place to tie down my kayak. I'm glad my videos were able to help!

    I actually made front recovery tow points for the front of my renegade limited. I was planning on making more and selling them but the interest for them never was enough for me to start making more. For the rear I just put in a factory tow hitch.

    I got stuck three times this year, one of the problems of living in the country lol but because I watched your other video I kept coveralls and a shovel in my car. Kid you not the first time I shoveled for 40 minutes and the second time I was stuck for almost a hour in -17 degrees before wind chill but got myself out and made it to work. The second time once I hit the highway I had to drive on the wrong side of the road for about a mile because it was just snow drift after snow drift, luckily outside a town of a couple hundred people there wasn't any traffic.

      @@AdventureGT no they aren’t. They are simple tie downs for transport. They only go into the aluminum crash bar. They are not mounted to the frame, absolutely do not try it with the front you will rip your bumper off

    • @IanNubbit
      @IanNubbit Před rokem +2

      @@lowlandraised7266 Anything more then to tie a vehicle to a trailer will strain those mount points. They will absolutely not hold the weight of the vehicle, there is also loads of videos you can find of bumpers being ripped off from people being mis-informed. When I got my Renegade stuck once, I just wrapped a strap around upper and lower control arms in the rear and pulled slow. Defiantly not ideal and there is no true area for a recovery mount on them stock unless you have a trailhawk or one with the tow hooks.
