- I’ve been going mountain biking lately and I’ve been feeling the need to get a full suspension MTB. So, I found this Santa Cruz Blur over at bikeworks located in Columbia City, Seattle and it turned out to be my size. So I sent it and restored it from the ground up.
I took this unrideable bike under my wings and refurbished it with all the much needed upgrades.

I break bikes for parts for a living. Once I'd stripped it down, cleaned all the parts, taken my pics, and written some concise listings with worldwide shipping on my well established ebay account, I'd make.. Well, I wont say, you people wont believe me, but the profit percentage is healthier than just about any business you could name.
This is why I do this.

I love that ride! We bikepack that trail every year during summer and end up at Lake Easton. the tunnel is definitely my favorite part!

haha! The CRX belongs to my brother and its currently not running 😒. I do however drive a 91 civic hatch back also!! all bone stock, maybe I'll do a video on that too.

Amazing! I would go with a fork for a 27.5 wheel. it’ll probably be a 100-120mm travel, which is fine.

The pandemic bike bubble is still in force where I live. Prices are almost more than when new. It is hard to find deals.
Nice build! How is the chainline when in the largest cog, any problems there? was expecting you to put the chainring in the middle position of the crank .. but perhaps frame clearance is an issue there.
Thanks! Great question, I didn’t show it but the chain line definitely needed to be adjusted so I ended up moving the chainring into the middle ring mounts and worked out perfect. As for the tire clearance, I ended up changing the tires three times due to rubbing on the cross brace in the rear!
You should put a shimano alfine hub gears and a belt drive on the bike. Would be amazingly unique!
That’d definitely be very unique especially on a full suspension from 2008 🤣

how do you clean the small components like washers, bolts, etc.?
I used white lightning degreaser then follow up with warm water and soap! then re-grease on whatever needs it!
100$! Wow, The parts on that bike are worth way more than that - dt swiss rims, xt cranks etc... Nice colour scheme. I used the same microshift 1x10 on my rebuilds. Quick Question.. are you still doing the handlebar bags? I was going to buy one when I got back to the US but it seems yu don't have any.
Yeah I know! Crazy, shout out to Bikeworks! Yes we are currently out of handlebar bags, gonna make another run of lunch box shaped ones soon!

First off, that’s the worst paint job I ever seen, second you take off the XT group set to put that micro shift garbage, not to mention trading the Cane Creek headset for the Origin 8. SMH
