I think tan is such an underrated color. Matte tan looks amazing on the bike.
Agreed!
I agree.
Proud 2019 Giant Reign SX 1 owner here. Agreed!
Taliban tan
Couldn’t agree more.
That was 1000X more interesting than "we built a new bike with the best parts" build or a "we washed a bike now its good as new hurr durr" build.
Nothing better than watching a true artist and craftsman at work.
Wow. Thanks for your kind words!
Definitely, comet restoration is another cool channel that does rebuilds
Amazing. I have just bought a new old full suspension bike and want to remodel it. I do t have your tools and I have no experience with full suspension bikes so it’s gunna be fun 🤣…. Commence education via CZcams 👍🏻👍🏻
That awkward moment when you're "old bike" is nicer than my "new bike"
Haha, thought the same thing right away
Having your own "not so good" bike in a shed is better than having someone else cool bike in your computer screen :D
yep yep
totally, I agree with you
Yea me too, I was straight thinkin: "damn I'm still waiting for the time when my old bike is gonna be a cannondale full susp beauty:("
This video and update/grade is EXACTLY what I want to see more of! It's so great to see older bikes being brought back into relevancy. Awesome work! I hope you continue to make more of these videos.
Thanks. definitely!
This audio is doing things to my brain with headphones on.
"Are you feeling it yet?"
"Yeah, man... Yeeaahhh..."
Yeah that music stereo is a no
You get used to it after a while :P
Trippy bro
its fucken horrendous isnt it?
Dude, thank you for showing the teardown it helped me a lot with my Jekyll I didn't quite have the confidence to just start hitting things until they came off, thanks for testing the waters.
It’s so wholesome when you show your son what you’re doing and why you are doing it 🥺🥺
Not a fan of the cranks and handlebars matching the frame but other than that super cool rebuild man!
Same, but I think cranks with some text or pattern on them would fit the best👌
Same
Same
same
Silvergold bars, and anthracite cranks would have looked siiiick!!
Love to see people restoring and repairing bikes instead of buying new!! Awesome vid
I restored like 5 older but high quality bikes with modern parts this year and sold them to new owners. So awesome to see those bikes with new parts. I didn’t go to your extent with new paint and everything but the bikes still looked ready to rip again 10 years later! Awesome to see someone doing the same.
Man, I do the same every winter to another bike out of our family. Same jobs, same tools, same torn black gloves... I love doing this in winter more than freaking out in the mud. Cool video!
The best vids are of cool folk restoring and upgrading old 26 inch frames , far much cooler than showing off the latest I-shifter!
Knowledge. Skill. And the right tools. Perfect combination and a pleasure to watch!! Many thanks!
Thanks Tony!
No
Why are the tear downs so emotional!!! I see all of your miles bro
That should be classified as art!!! Loved every single second
This has to be the most calming and satisfying video I've ever seen. Top job, mate.
I love your attention to detail. Not only did you bring a second life back into the bike but did it with style and super neat editing. Easily slammed that subscribe button, HARD. Well done!
Ah dude! Thing I like most about this vid is how you remove your bearings with the press and a socket. I have a "tool" for doing that - couple of inches of threaded rod, two appropriately sized sockets facing each other (one the size of the bearing, the other larger to "receive" it being pushed out), washers outside those, and a bolt on each end. I then just apply pressure on each bolt and it pushes the bearing through. If you're careful enough you can invert the set up and push new bearings back in nice and square with the same thing.
Loving it. Wish we saw more older but perfectly good bikes restored and ragging the trails, I'd happily take that out for a blast.
I’m just over here drooling at the all the tools/equipment you have
Thoroughly enjoyed the restoration. That desert tan looks killer!
All hail ALLOY!!! I don’t give a shit who thinks that CF is King...they’re hyped garbage. Aluminum survives! Amazing video! I have torn down and restored at least 4 “old friends” over the last 20 years...the therapy in disassembling an entire bike, replacing all of its consumables...blasting, painting, powder coat, polishing...each one is the same friend, maybe not better, but ready for more years of riding to come!
This build is amazing. I love that you kept the bike and restored with such a sick power coat color.
That whole video was totally mesmerising man. Wow! What an awesome job! The tools you have, I can buy. The skills you have, I can never have! Great work.
This is just so satisfying to watch, i love seeing old bikes being brought back to life
So good! I had this bike years ago and this video reminded me how good it was. Must be such a fun bike to ride with the 650b up front!
Did this to my son's cove, same colour, kudos to the build, looks super nice
Awesome rebuild of this beauty. I am in love with your Jekyll!
Thanks for sharing, thumbs up and greetings from Germany.
WOW, truly love this build. Excited to see how your channel grows! PSA at the end I would love to see more shots even riding of the completed bike. Need to give that puppy some more screen time once she is finished!
keep up the good content. you will go far here.
This may possibly be one of the most underrated channels of CZcams
This is like "wow." The bike has done you a solid now you have done it a solid. So satisfy to watching.
Wow the best restore of a bike I've ever seen, it's not just paint the bike but restore all the parts, components, ... Nice work !
Wow, thanks!
Funny, I just rebuilt a Pro Flex 856 today. Updated the bars, pedals, drivetrain, wheels and fork.
Quite an enjoyable experience.
That colour is soo nice! NO GLOSS FINISH 🔥
Amazing work, could not stop watching though the process, each step carefully presented. Thanks for sharing, you got yourself a new subscriber 👍
ive seen this video at least 7 times yet i keep coming back to it. looking forward to more uploads!
Absolute magic. As someone who has a modernized and modded 2010 Kona with adjustable geo and travel this is gold. I always loved the old Jekyll but hated the colour. I watch plenty of car restomod videos and plenty of bike build videos but this is money. The understated music with mechanical sounds was choice. Why don't more people do this? Bicycle hotrodding.
So happy I just found this channel. Superb quality content
I know this work take a lot of time and work . Appreciate the beautiful art that you show us on this bike.
Become better than new bike👍
Didn’t think that you would painstakingly do the spokes. Credit to your time and effort. Great video! 👍🏾
Dude, you have some serious talent. AND some serious tools!
I wish I would have seen your video before redoing my Dirt jumper into AM machine. Your finishes are impressive. Great Job!
A really talented dude.. Plays amazing jazz guitar, builds bikes, creates compelling you tube videos, then puts them all together. Nice job!
Thanks!
Welp, now the price of used Cannondale Jekyll just went up. Great build and I love the color scheme!
I'm doing the same thing to my 2004 Jekyll. You wanna talk budget build? I'm the king. Mechanical disk, 3x9, 1inch bars, it's been a long road, especially living in Hawaii where parts and skilled bike mechs such as yourself are rare. We're also not known for bike trails either. But it's a beautiful place to cruise around. Loved your video! And you have a freaking SAND BLASTER ! Stay well. Mahalo and Aloha!
Why is this so satisfying to watch? Awesome rebuild!
the kinda youtube content i was looking for for a long time.
What an incredible video. The shoots, the music... I have the same exact frame, colours and size, but I love so much that paint, btw that paintwork was amazing! Cheers from Madrid, Spain.
Thank you so much!
Wow!! What a finished product!! Good lookin bike.
You have thee best resto/mod videos 👍🏼
Not only the great job with the bike but the great video! Congrats!
Much talent on display here. Visually, mechanically, and musically!
Thanks!
Hej Andrew, you are doing a great job! Respect that you paint it youself and exchange all of the smallest parts and pieces! Its gonna be like a brand new bike!
And you have the videographic skills as well, that really helps showing the beauty of restoring the bikes! Great videos=D Coming over from your Photography Channel, one of my favourite Fuji channels, and i love that you are beside that also a bike enthusiast! And, doing both amazingly well! Congrats and all the best for the upcoming year!
Thanks Martin! Merry Christmas!
Incredible video, no words just action. Perfect.
Glad you liked it!
Very nice seeing someone taking the time to do things proper at home. I’ll be subscribing for sure. I’m assuming you did a lot more than what was shown on the video. Nice work!
oh boi, the jekyll was my dream bike back when 26 was still cool :) also, what a workshop and what a build!
That powder coat job with black decals is slick. I have a Cannondale road bike and BOY do they ever overdo it with the decals. Every tube has the name/logo on it 2-4 times.
Overhauling a bike is so satisfying to watch
THAT was satisfying to watch. Keep it up!
I really like how you turned the color into something different.. Dartmoor sandstorm it look a like. Amazing!!!
phenomenal build. I'm looking at a 2011 jekyll and the mullet idea is very inspiring hahah
That bike looks wicked cool. Love it!
It turned out amazing!!! Well done mate 👍
Dude! This video was great. Thanks for sharing
Those old American made Cannondale frames are so good there will be people rebuilding them over and over again 100 years from now. ... This is great frame, but the originals made in Pennsylvania are a work of art.
Agreed. But unfortunately, they don't make this shock design anymore, so that's the limiting factor.
I use to own this bike before it was stolen out of my bike shop lol. I really loved how this bike handled, it was a shredder for sure.
Headtube decal is facingbthe wrong way. Otherwise awesome job. Looks amazing.
Who is to determine the right and wrong way. It's just a different way.
@@c.j.burtwell8430 Its the letter C, as in for "Cannondale". There is only one way it can face.
thank you,....the whole build has custom graphics and the logo is reversed? WTF?
The head tube sticker was just one of 1000 things wrong with that video.
@@hgrworkshop397 like using a qr seatpost clamp on a dropper.
That was an awesome restore and upgrade, I thoroughly enjoyed that! Something that may assist in the future, if you weed the excess vinyl before installing the decal it may help things go a bit more smoothly for installation and save you a few minutes.
So satisfying to watch
That's a great color choice, looks wicked
The perfect base and well made.
Beautiful and amazing job done~
the aesthethics are so on point
I have a lot of respect for this, awesome build!
Much appreciated!
Really amazing job!!
Desert Tan looks SO good on bikes!
Oddly satisfying. Thanks for posting.
great job, well done mate
Really enjoyed this build 👍
Very satisfying to watch, if i didnt have enough hobbies i would dive deep into this.
Haha. I definitely have too many hobbies
That was very therapeutic 🤘
Magnifique travail, bravo !
This guy definitely has Taste, because He is wearing the same Shoes as me 😄
Amazing job!!! Love to see you rebuild a kona coilair!
Great video, beautiful bike!
This is awesome - I've always wanted to do something like this to my old Super-V. Such a cool design and the reason I can't bring myself to get rid of it (it's 23 years old)
These videos are satisfying to watch.
:) and comments like yours are satisfying to read!
Awesome job, bike looks phenomenal!!
Thanks!
Huge work done !!!Congrats!!!
Thanks!
Wow. Looks great. Love the desert sand. Good job.
Thank you!
Rob from Old Shovel would be proud.
alot of work, alot of specialistic tools... but end effect is more thanoutstanding -great job!
love you're vids man!!! keep it up you're simply amazing!!!
Glad you like them!
Cool video, Andrew! I came over from the photo side to see what you were doing.
It's funny seeing the comments about "old" bikes. My newest is a '93 Trek 970 (no suspension) mountain bike, a '91 Bridgestone RB-T road bike, a '73 Raleigh Grand Prix, and a '40s balloon tired unicycle. Lugged steel, baby!! ;)
And, aside from the points I saw in the comments, know that an adjustable wrench should only be used as a hammer! Never on bolts or nuts. Use open/box wrenches. :)
To anyone watching this. Don't work on your brakes with the wheel spinning. Even at slow speeds it has enough leverage at the brake rotor to sheer your finger off.
sounds like you have a history with it
Been there done that, was lucky and ‘just’ lost a nail
I love Jekylls and you just made this one better which is hard to do in my opinion. Amazing job!
Hyde's are More funn tho!...... bad'a'bum.tch!.. Yeah..Yeah..I know..Lame Joke.....
sick bikes Jekyll's though..
forgot to say.. The olnly thing missing from this...Is the Old skool Cannondale weld smoothing.. I have a 2007 CAAD3 F1000 and it almost could pass for a carbon frame.. I ADORE the work put into that small feature..and Cannondale stopped it!!!..GRRRRRR..I still love cannondales but buy the older ones purely for those gorgeous welds alone.. nerdy AF but I couldn't care less!..lol
Awesome build
oh hell yeah! this is one sick video, dude! nice job!
Thanks!
now thats impressive build
Superb color
