SKYFALL | Tube Chase - Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Ben Whishaw | James Bond

- James Bond (Daniel Craig) pursues Silva (Javier Bardem) through the London tube system in SKYFALL guided by Q (Ben Whishaw). The train crashing through the ceiling of the tunnel was the idea of special effects supervisor Chris Corbould.
“During pre-production, Sam [Mendes, director] rang me and said, ‘We’ve got the great chase in the underground of London but I feel we are short of one spectacular set piece',” recalled Corbould. “That night I dreamt about a train crash. I mentioned it to Sam and it evolved from there. I didn’t realise how big it would become. It turned into a monster.”

True.

One of the best things about Silva is he seems like he's having so much fun. A mediocre villain would have walked through the crowd glowering but Silva sees that he is getting away and laughs to himself.

"Coulda told me sooner."
In this scene, where they are discussing whether or not human intelligence, and thus bond, is replaceable by technology which takes place parallel to Bond's pursuit of Silva. I've noticed at 2:43 where Bond and Q is trying to figure out what Silva's destination is, Bond looks at the tube map to find a solution, whereas Q is struggling. It makes the argument that sometimes when time is a scarce resource, you don't have time to google yourself to an answer. I think this is such a great sutle way to connect the parallel scenes and efficiently discuss the need for a 007. Also, it sort of hints at the scene at the museum, where Q and Bond meet for the first time in this movie and discuss the importance of their individual roles
This is such an amazing thing you have noticed.

Perfectly stated. Daniel Craig’s Portrayal of Bond brings it to the here and now. Showing how Fleming would modernize the franchise to show that Bond is the man, no matter the generation.

Thomas Newman’s score Skyfall and Spectre were so good!
I was sad when I heard he wasn’t returning for No Time to Die
But hey, We got Hans Zimmer
I found Skyfall to be interesting and enjoyable, different from the ‘plain’ Bond films of the past; I was quite sad when I watched Spectre and saw that it was just another random Bond film without any personality. I hope the new one goes back to being in the Skyfall line
Yesss, just watched it recently, and wow it was spectacular. It had all these new elements that blended well with the true nature of Bond films, and getting rid of that dry factor. Emotional and enthralling. Will be watching Spectre soon

It must take a mind of a genius to know where to plant a bomb in a sewage knowing ahead of time that he and Bond will end up exactly where they were and that a train would be passing at that exact moment to disrupt the chase so he could get away. It just blows my mind... realism at it's finest.
It's a bit silly, but I think Silva put the explosive there as he was running away just knowing it was underneath the train track so he could block his path. They did after all just get off the train so it's not unfathomable to predict the train would move after that.
