SPECTRE | Helicopter Fight

- On this day in 2015, the scene from SPECTRE where Bond grapples with Sciarra in the helicopter was filmed. The chopper was piloted by aerobatic expert Chuck Aaron. Stunt coordinator Gary Powell said, “The pilots made it look dangerous but they were in control at all times and if they saw any indicators flag a problem, they would put the aircraft down as soon as possible.”

I want a suit like Bond's. No matter what abuse he takes, no matter the landscape, the suit always stays clean.
Time to join the MI6 then buddy that or get a suit like John wick's

It's fiction dude!
Ask Mr. Q.
Q-Branch's most impressive device, never mentioned in any of the movies: dress shoes you can run in.
I tried to run in dress shoes before. Had blisters the size of bonds balls
now that you mention it...ha
That’s a nice nashorn
FRRRRRRR dress shoes are so uncomfortable even when broken in, most likely bond has dr scholls inserts LMAO
my dress shoes are really comfortable, actually
running in them would cause me more concern for the shoe's wellbeing than my own comfort or ability
That face when he controlled the helicopter. Emanates a vibe that he is always in control.. craig just nailed that
Craig nails Bond. Connery set the bar, Craig betters it.
Ahhh, Mexico... Is there ever a time when you aren't shot in sepia mode?
LMAO!
Ya estamos acostumbrados los mexicanos.
Lmfao
Isn't sepia the natural light color in Mexico?
@Taylor Justin y’all should just break up if you have to go as far as to hack her ig
The number one rule of helicopter combat is to always attack the pilot to ensure that it crashes.
This is what's bothered me the most about it. I would understand him checking the guy inbetween for a weapon, so as not to be attacked by the pilot, but actually attacking him while he is the only one holding up the helicopter is just pure stupidity
This is exactly what I also thought. Why would he even start beating the pilot in the first place?!
When you do so at least make sure that you do have a blade to finish the job as quick as possible.
Imagine if he didn’t attack the pilot. Would he have just been like soooo where we going?
You need more "likes", bro!👍
Good opportunity for a classic bit of Bond humour that they missed there.
The pilot: *nervously sweating* uhhhhhh where do you want to go senior?😅
I can picture roger Moore or pierce brosnun saying this. Then pilot nervously says "anywhere u want as long as u don't kill me too. Senior...."
(Perfect name reveal reintroducing himself) "the names bond. James Bond"
(Cue title music)
@@pjosepha Yeah perfect!
Bond actually saved the life of that guy he struck with a skull baton @2:19, if the guy had boarded the helicopter he would've ended being thrown off it at from a 300 ft height like the others.
He kinda looks like henchman from no time to die with the bionic eye.
@@juliosalguero4638 you mean the guy who was *mind blown* by the watch?
I don't think Bond did that on purpose but I see your point...
Killed by SPECTRE afterwards for failing to kill Bond.

If they had filmed this in Oregon 2020, the yellow filter wouldn't be necessary

The opening sequence in Spectre is a culmination of several, similar scenes from previous Bond films. There is the Dia De Los Muertos scene which resembles the Mardi Gras scene in "Live and Let Die." The rooftop sniper scene is reminiscent of the sniper scene where Timothy Dalton's Bond attempts to assassinate Sanchez in "Licence to Kill." And, finally, the helicopter fight sequence has elements of Roger Moore's Bond in "For Your Eyes Only," during which he battles to gain control of the aerial vehicle as piloted by Blofeld.
Yea.. but this blows those others away. Makes Roger Moore look silly.
And least we forget Bringing the helicopter back under control Pierce Bronson's Goldeneye Opening scene.
Would you consider Bond's pursuit of the assassin through the parade a reversal of SPECTRE pursuing Bond in Thunderball?
That Licence To Kill scene was very good, it had suspense and a strong atmosphere.
😅
Thomas Newman's score is no less than fantastic in this and "Skyfall": with the absence of dialogue, the music gives life and focus on every scene - excellent work!.
I just rewatched this movie a few days back. My opinions have changed. I think it's a pretty Solid film. Give it another try.
Solid isn't the word I'd use you can't deny Blofeld was underused Craig is at the point where he doesn't give a shit and the brothers twist is just preposterous however I'd say it's alright the action is decent and the locations and score are nice but Solid is too generous but I'd admit people are too hard on it die another day is still worse
Can you tell me the exact name of the movie plz? I search for it but I found a lot of movies
@@omaraljawadi849 spectre
Watched it again. It's still boring
The colour correction in Spectre is completely over the top my god.
yeah it should have been blue-ish right?
I don't get why they couldn't just make it look natural. It's like watching through Instagram.... Lol
Mexico is always a harsh orange apparently 😒
Smithy Chris and lazy. I saw the behind-the-scenes for this sequence and there was this long section talking about the costumes and vibrant colors. Couldn’t help but think, “WHY WOULD YOU HIDE ALL THAT WITH THIS YELLOW GRADE?”
It looks crappy AF
Bond's gaze at the beginning of the scene is why Daniel Craig was superb in this role. He didn't have the Roger Moore charm and cheesyness, his Bond wasn't a psychotic murder machine who could kill on the spot with no emotion whatsoever, he was way colder and brutal than Timothy Dalton and was as threatening as Sean Connery overall.
Although a man of fewer words, his Bond had a nice sense of humour as well.
But his cold, murderous eyes that really have a cool hatred and ill intentions to his enemy sells him as the Queen's best murderer
Fun fact: That's the same helicopter model seen in the opening of A View to a Kill. The "MBB BO-105"
Yes indeed.
That type is very agile, and has powerful engine
Can´t care. Scene is too damn dumb.
Seriously clever product placement. Will make the general public buy a lot more of the MBB BO-105 ;)
@@LoLorelando The BO-105 is. no longer being build. For a couple decades or so...

This is actually very cool scene! Didn't really appreciate it the first time I saw it. Very well done.
That's a strange way to work as a SECRET agent. ^^
He's not a spy.
Bond just seems to make terrible decisions when getting into helicopters 😂 Really well filmed and edited sequence tho.
The fight comes first. It turned out ok after all.
czcams.com/channels/oKvaCkOEnzZKZSUj6sv9Jg.html
Yes he should have made some Bond type quip like "hotel Ritz, please driver" instead of attacking the pilot above thousands of people just for movie purposes. Not very Bond like.
Technically it's not bond anymore it's James Bourne
You could've at least tried to make that sound like an original thought..word for word what Calvin Dyson says in his Spectre review
The city were filming took place didn't actually have this elaborate a "day of the dead celebration." before filming it was more of a private family celebration. However afterwards, they liked the idea so much that they made it a regular part of the festivities.
Cool
Ummmm no hahhaha, we didn't
the city? you mean *MEXICO CITY* ?
Could you tell me what city please? Absolutely beautiful architecture. Also a great opening to a Bond film! Thank you.
@@thewanderer7705 its mexico city
Possibly the best opening of any James Bond movie. Shame it didn't live up to the opening
Nah skyfall had a better opening
@eating sugar no papa I've been saying all last decade the Mission Impossible films have become better action/spy films then Bond, the MI films of the 2010s are definitely superior to the 2010s Bond films, but tbf most action/spy movies that came out last decade have been better than 2010s Bond. Craig's films have all sucked after Casino Royale IMO..
Disagree. There have been a ton of better opening sequences in the Bond Series. The key to any good Bond opening scene is to increasingly ramp up the danger as it progresses. Being stuck in a helicopter with a mere fistfight means that's it. You cannot take it any further. In comparison, take something like Tomorrow Never Dies' opening as an example. It goes from a fact finding mission reporting info back to MI6 to Bond having to race against a cruise missile his own side sends as he tries to fly nukes out of mass terrorist barter market buying and selling weapons. That's just one example but it doesn't have to be all explosions. Goldeneye is another great opening and it is merely two agents running through a Soviet chemical weapons facility with Bond escaping as Trevelyan ''dies''. This scene in comparison really is quite underwhelming but then again, Spectre is an underwhelming film overall.
@@alwaysOPEN4business Hmmm, I wouldn't put Mission Impossible 4 or 5 above Skyfall. Mission Impossible 6 was really good but for me, they aren't films to be enjoyed story telling wise but rather a vehicle for Tom Cruise to perform crazy stunts. You go to watch Mission Impossible films for the scene where Cruise is climbing outside the tallest building in the world or hanging outside a plane as it takes off, not for the story. I couldn't tell you anything about the plots of the Mission Impossible films. The villains/story of all the Mission Impossible films are all really forgettable but I can tell you that Silva from Skyfall is memorable, hell Blofeld from Spectre is memorable even in a underwhelming Bond film. If you wanna talk story, better look to the original Bourne trilogy, not Mission Impossible for capturing your attention story telling wise.
@@alwaysOPEN4business Apparently, from what I've seen, it doesn't look like every one of them sucked: Skyfall >>>>> Quantum of Solace/Spectre
This scene was great
I think this movie is pretty underrated. Even though I totally get why people dislike it so much but everybody is really going too hard on Spectre
Davider yeah I agree, Spectre is like the thunderball of the Daniel Craig era, some people like it, and some people hate it.
For me it´s this opening which spoils things. Too many bad decisions. Rest was okay. Not great. Because I do not want any back story with my Bond. I enjoy mysteries more. But based on this opening, movie could have been way worse.
I wonder wether Bond decides to eat something before such commitments. 😂
And go to the bathroom...........
A helicopter, doing barrel rolls, and then a "hammerhead"!
I love it!
This is one from two special aerobatic helicopters MBB BO-105 in property of Red Bull Flying Bulls team. Booth were heavily modified for performing aerobatics maneuvers like back flip, looping or barrel roll. These helicopters are the only ones in the world that can perform similar acrobatics. In movie is only paint in grey instead Red Bull collors.
0:01 lol Bond just standing there with the "So...are we gonna do this?" look on his face.
ver el desfile de día de muertos en el inicio de una película de James Bond como Spectre no tiene precio.
love the way the music is so dramatic and suddenly quiets as ne nears the dancing women as if their energy somehow transforms 007s moment... nice touch
Plot twist: He looses the ring during the scuffle
The city where people are fine with buildings blowing up but aren't fine with helicopters going insane. Other than that, great scene and I actually like this film.
Really? Do you live there? How many buildings have "blown up" lately there?
Really
Juan Pablo Gonzalez Jimenez You apparently missed the scene right before this. Notice how everyone was carrying on just fine despite Bond just about leveling an entire block moments earlier.
@@DLordSadow You definitely missed the original comment was actually edited, I can't help you with that.
Juan Pablo Gonzalez Jimenez I saw it just fine. I was only replying to yours.

It wasn’t an easy mission... it took James Bond to achieve it non the less, but Mexico City was finally shown as it really looks like in a Hollywood blockbuster.

Brilliant!
absolutely epic.
Helicopters are hell to fly. Basic tip for James. You do not fight with the pilot.
So, why Bond in the middle of fight thought "He has a ring, I'll need that ring". Like, it could have been a weeding ring or something.
What wedding ring has an octopus on it? XD

Bond saw him showing a hand during a meeting
The director wants you to be scared for Bond in the helicopter- but what are they gonna do, have the protagonist get kicked out and fall to his death or die in a fiery explosion that kills dozens of people? Bond suffers from Superman Syndrome where his plot armor makes him invincible, so the only real stakes you can introduce are the lives of others.
Bloody brilliant !
Film script writers finally did a helicopter stunt scene where the heli doesn't get blown up
This was really good
A superb romantic and action movie of all the times!
When I was like 5-7 years old when if my memories do not fail me, I remember going to my uncle's for a family gathering and then he played this film on the TV for the adults and I was like "What is this guy doing running around hanging off helicopters?" And my grandma was like "His job is to kill people."
Your still not allowed to watch this
