I totally get Click's "I use English so much, my Swedish is getting worse" because that's exactly what's happening to me. I use more English than my native language nowadays because I'm chronically online and when I speak my language, I just keep forgetting words. Sometimes I remember the word in English but not in my native language. It's wild, disorienting and a little panic inducing

The doctor wife makes me so mad. Im a female pediatrician and make less than this guy's "low" offer. My husband was a stay at home dad through the pandemic. And we lived very comfortably, even with me still paying off loans. This woman's entitled attitude and lack of awareness is disgusting. That adult spine thing is true. In college, a friend was reaching for his glass during a party, and he fell over screaming in pain. Just reaching for that glass tore the muscles between his ribs. Took 3 months to heal.

Several years ago something shifted in my lower back and I abruptly dropped to the floor unable to stand up for several minutes. It took about 2 weeks to be able to walk normally again. All I had done was lean forward a little and reach for the handle of the dishwasher. We laugh about it now but at the time my teenage daughter and I were both pretty worried...

Pokemon having so many different pokemon is probably a major contributor to its r34 popularity (and its general fan art popularity). There's just so much that can be drawn. It's like a hundred normal franchises in a trench coat
Plus every game adds like a half dozen waifus. Plus SV goes a little unconventional so there's something for everybody, such as people who like thicc muscular hiker dommy mommies.
There's that, and then there's also the many attractive human characters as well, so basically anybody can find something they like in it.
There are also many adults in the series, and it's the highest grossing franchise of all time. Alot of anime is set with high schoolers, and pokemon has a ton full fully grown adult people. At least 8 (usually) each game.
The issue with the submarine one is the Oceangate Ceo chose not to fix his constantly breaking very bad communication tech. He was notoriously stupid. James Cameron was actually able to have a phone call with his wife on his dives because he worked with professionals.

Target actually does let people “get a way with” shoplifting. They will track a person and know exactly what they stole and let them walk out of the store. They then build a profile and only act once the person has shoplifted enough to make it a jail-able crime rather than a fine. It is really insidious.

Hypertumors are tumors that grow on cancer cells due to the instability of cancer cells. The two tumors fight and eventually the hypertumor ends up winning and killing the tumor it was growing on. Then more tumors can appear on this one and so on and so forth. This may be one of the reasons large animals like elephants don't get cancer that damages them.
Pretty sure between the regular stuff found in tobacco/cigarettes and asbestos you're just getting two different cancers that'll team up to kill you faster... but then if this was actually a thing, there may be medical data on its effects somewhere?

@@trishapellis perhaps you are right. The reason hypertumors exist is because cancer Dna mutates so much, a diferent cancer appears and competes with the preexisting tumor. Tabaco and asbestos could lead to that and increading the instability of the Dna.

Fun fact, we actually do have taste buds in our GI tract. they allow the pancreas and liver to produce the right amount of hormones like insulin and enzymes like lipase. It is hypothesized that these taste buds are why artificial sweeteners are so highly linked to type II diabetes. Your gut is also fooled by them and makes the pancreas release insulin even though there is not an increase in actual sugars.
Wait my guts are tasting my half-digested food to see if it tastes good & healthy? That's both intriguing and horrifying and boy am i glad i can't actually perceive that taste test!
it's why I've been slowly pushing myself over the last decade to half sweet and non sweet drinks. At this point regular and even artificially sweetened store-bought drinks feel too sweet to me, and I generally only buy a 20oz fancy limited edition sparsely as a treat. Oddly enough, if you need to train your body to reduce sweet, start using half sugar, and a splash of lemon/lime juice. Human bodies LOVE citric acid, and you cannot overdose, so it's a good alternative, and also binds with and neutralizes the chorine in tap water, which I am mildly allergic to ingesting.

About the TikToker and the theft I can answer for a definitive fact that's how that works.
Buddy of mine is in asset protection at a Walmart and he'll flat out to tell you that they know who are habitual thieves because when someone gets away with stealing at a store they generally come back to the same store where they "got away with it"
And instead of catching a person on like 50 bucks worth of stolen items they compile evidence and footage of the person doing it and once it reaches felony amounts the next time the person comes in or is spotted at another Walmart location they are detained arrested and brought up on felony charges.

The NYC parking garage was a part of a college building/dorm, my friend goes there, the person who passed was a janitor (I believe) who was well loved :( ….they had to evacuate the entire dorm and didnt even provide hotels or anything….so a lot of students had to drop big bucks due to the college’s negligence

I'm actually a Tolkien scholar, like legitimately got my Masters in Language and Literature with a concentration in Tolkien studies, so I can get folks from fandoms becoming scholars of that thing, but yeah, I don't think HP is there yet. Plus, most literary scholars focus on an author rather than a book/series. For instance, Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit were big for my studies, but I also looked at a hell of a lot of obscure things Tolkien wrote and/or lectured on.

They can be hired without work permits, allowed to work longer hours in more dangerous conditions. Things like construction areas, automotive factory, and meat packing plants.
These people that voted in favor for this are people that just want easy labor from kids that will fallow orders. They'll be able to erode employees work safety and rights through manipulating/grooming this teens into thinking this is okay.
For those wondering about the Pokémon thing, I commented this on the short, the reason for the abundance of it is probably because it can easily be anthropomorphized and disassociated from the regular franchise meaning people are gonna be less uncomfortable than with other franchises. The best way I can put it is it’s easier to accept that someone that looks kind of like something familiar is being drawn sexually than the cartoon character you’ve known since you were seven. Yes I know sometimes the human characters are sexualized but thankfully I don’t think that’s what most people are there for
Pokémon is popular in this regard because it’s less painful to see than other stuff tends to be, except for the part which does sexualize the human characters which is probably worse than a lot of other stuff but once again, human characters from the show and games are the minority
