This siren is in Highland Village, TX. There is a 2001 siren only 1/4 of a mile away, you can hear it in the background. This siren sounds both signals.
I'm used to the sound of a high-powered STH-10 fire siren. Woodward Township (PA) fire department had an STH-10 for their house siren, and every Monday night at 6:00, the firefighters there would activate the siren in attack for the weekly test along with Williamsport Bureau of Fire's 3T22 activating in alternate wail, which is the oscillating hi-lo signal. I'm actually quite fond of fire sirens myself. Are you very fond of fire sirens?
The original system [which this is a part of] was installed in I want to say 1993. They went and added some units in 2002, and moved one or two shortly after that. I wouldn't be shocked to learn of them installing more units, as the city has grown. The original system was comprised of this STH-10, and 2 1st generation 2001DC's.
There is one of these located in Tracy, CA. When I first moved out here, I kept looking at it wondering what it was. Now I know since it looks similar to the one in the video. It's wires are cut though.
Nice video, the STH-10 sounds great! Did anyone notice the wasp get sucked onto the air intake screen at the bottom of the siren and get caught on it at 3:34
This siren is located by a water facillity on Oak Street right off of Highland Village Road. There is a 2001 on Highland Village Road just 400 feet from this one. I have no idea why they are so close together.
@@United_HVAC_and_Fans Typically they don’t set STH-10s to coast down before reaching peak. In fact they usually hold peak which is my favorite attack timing. Timing like this makes it seem to... emergency vehicle siren... ee...
This one must have damn good bearings, considering the fact that the wind-down is over 7 minutes long.
Sounds wonderful! Music to my ears :D
Thats pretty damn cool how they carried on to attack without having it wind down.
Excellent video. Thank you.

Yeah the 2001 is maybe like 3 blocks from this.

Is this one of the later production STH-10s? It has a raspy sound that I read was aattributed to late production STH-10s.
We have one of these in my town
Headphones in... ears gone.
@garyhstorms10 Nope, they have no plans to remove it.
Is this going to be the last test of this siren

sentry40V2T: when does it go off?
Where exactly is this? I live very near highland village.
ARE PARTS STILL AVAILABLE FOR THE STL--10
+Patty Warner not sure one is for sale on ebay though.
I don't think so, newer STH's have a larger box on the motor, and are more raspy-sounding than this.

That's a HORRIBLE timer set for an STH-10...
How so? It seems on the dime to me.
