  • Many of you are still phased and unsure of how to deal with a young newly planted rose that’s been in the ground for around 12 to 24 months
In one last pruning tutorial for this season, watch up close and personal as I work on this one year old “ the country Parson” from ‪@david_austin_roses‬
planted exactly one year ago next week if you have any questions or need to know any further information don’t hesitate to drop me a comment below

Great video Ben. May I suggest using some sort of solid background whatever works. Your instructions are great but the stems are partially lost in the background.

Another very informative video that is very much appreciated, I have learned so much from watching your videos but being a newbie rose grower I am going to do my best and I will hopefully have some beautiful roses. I live in Nova Scotia, Canada and I wont be seeing my roses anytime soon, we still have alot of snow but it wont take long for the weather to warm up so the snow will start to melt. Thanks for all you do.

Great video thank you ❤ I find that most tutorials on rose pruning advise that you cut at an angle away from a bud, but DA dont. Wonderiing why this is?

Everybody will have slightly different opinions and ways in which they do things I have found through experience, but it is simply just not necessary

My Constance Spry has no buds or leaves it was a bare root last year .
I cut back an ice berg it was 7 years old and never pruned , cut down to 3” and it’s got healthy new growth.
