Who knew? I don't understand why it works, I'm just glad it does because it was driving me crazy! You've proved once again that you can find a fix for almost anything on CZcams. Thank you!!
LOL!! Yes, you can find anything on CZcams.
THANK YOU. I just moved into an apartment and literally *everything* in here is messed up. The closet door came off the track tonight and I thought I was gonna lose it. Googled it and stumbled across your video. Thank you for restoring my sanity (for tonight 😂).
LOL, I know the feeling.
Thank you so much. I have been waiting a week for my husband to put the door back on but I did all myself thanks to your video. 😊
That's awesome! Maybe you should take over all home improvement duties.
I am woman…hear me roar!!!
Awesome! 😊
I'm watching the video because I got tired of waiting on my husband
Finally a solution to the bane-of-my-existence! Thank you
You're welcome!
Thanks Steve I had this issue for the longest on multiple doors. If I was a manufacture I would incorporate your solution into their functional specs. It makes sense to anticipate future issues thus one works smart and not hard.
Thanks Luis!
Simple fix, just ike that after years of frustration. Thank you!
LOL! You're welcome. Glad to help!!
I could not have said it any better 👍
This is one of the best tricks I have seen for problem bi-folding doors.
So, my bifold closet door, actually has this thing on the very bottom, close to a screw looking. But I actually lost that part like 1 day ago, I thought it was just one of my siblings stuff. But I managed to get it back! So It was actually quite hard to get it to stay in the hole at the very top. And very hard to put this screw thing on the hole it came out of. And let me remind you, this was a single person working on this heavy closet door. After finally fixing it. When I keep closing and opening, the thing that has the hole and has this screw on the bottom piece (At the top) was moving/scooting. So I remember you did something like screwing a nail to make it so it won't move anymore!
My age:14 (which isn't important) Is going to fix this closet! Tomorrow actually. I can't go touching my dads stuff. But I want to fix this on my own.
Thanks for the quick fix. I have a door that I really don't want to mess with replacing the track just yet!
Finally decided to google this. So easy. Thanks for the video. Fixed 3 doors just now. My daughter was thrilled. Tried a 4th but was beyond repair for now. Need to get some wood to fix it. Cheers
That's great! No more dealing with the doors falling out of the track.
Our pantry door has been giving us some trouble for some time now and I was ready to throw the whole thing away. This was just the perfect and easy fix! Thank you!
You are welcome Caitlin.
Just wanted to let you know this video saved my bacon. Thank you for this
LOL, well I'm glad I could do that.
Just used this video to fix my door. Thank you for being clear and simple. I had no idea what was going on. Awesome vid. Thank you truly.
Happy to help!
Thanks for this video I managed to get the door back up all by myself- 🙂
Right on! Good job!
Thanks! This was really helpful. I just fixed my daughter’s closet door. The hardware was initially installed wrong, so I had to take the rail out and put everything back, but as soon as I did that and tied the screw works beautifully
Awesome.
seriously?! this is low key genius! thank you! I was about to just take the door off.
LOL, keep it simple, right?
this was half of the problem for our fix - we also needed to slightly raise the platform the bottom part of the door was bolted into. a quick half hour job for this novice handyman. you are a lifesaver! eight years of struggling put to an end! thank you so much :)
That's great! No more anxiety going to open the door now, right? lol.
Been searching forever for a solution to our ever falling door. This looks like it will solve the problem!
I hope so!
Great vid and very helpful. Got mine back on track in 10 minutes. Keep those helpful vids coming!

Hi is type of screw he used as a stopper? I have no idea 😅
Thanks so much, pantry door on our new house went off track... YOU saved the day!!
Awesome to hear Kathryn! Glad to help.
I was searching for this video for long time. Went to home Depot and asked a pro. They first told me to replace the spring loaded pin. Then they sold me the slider. I only came across your post while searching how to dismantle the door to replace the track. It was 1minute fix after weeks of trial and poor advice from store.
brilliant, man! this is a fantastic idea and will help me out a lot. my closet doors always come loose and fall off. this is a lifesaver. thank you!
Hey, glad to help!
Thanks heaps! I fixed in with the first minute thanks to you 🙏
Fantastic!
Fantastic. Have been looking for this solution to my pantry bi-fold doors where that top pivot bracket would just not stay tight and kept sliding.
Same problem we had. It's a quick fix Sarah.
Thank you sir.. 3 years and just found out a simple fix.
LOL, me too.
Omg thank you so much, the damn hinges were stripped so i got plastic wood and that worked brilliantly, but the door still wouldnt stay in the track. You video helped me, and so easy !!!! thank you !!!!!!!!!!
You're welcome!! Glad I could help!
Brilliant! Thank you so much for the great advice and video!

Super helpful. Thanks for making it simple and short. My closet door has been bugging me for months and I didn’t realize it was this easy to fix.
Brilliant, sir. Thank you. You've won a subscriber. Lol.
OMG! I've been holding this off for 2 years but just saw your video and fixed it. I had the 2nd problem where I screw in the screw but the track still slides. I did your 2nd screw solution to stop it from sliding and it worked!
lol... I put it off forever too. Glad that little trick worked for you.
Quick fix, indeed. Genius!
Bless you! I've been trying to figure this out and got so frustrated...your video helped me fix the door!

Great!
Hey thanks. I was going crazy with these bi folds until i watch your video.
Glad I could help!
So what happens if your bifold closet door starts stopping in various areas? Is it getting rusty? For me I see my things getting brown. I'm not sure if that was the original color but I was pretty sure it was white. But I'm hoping this video can help me fix my closet door again!
What a great idea with the screw! Thank you. 😉
You're welcome!
Problem I'm having is the top pivot bracket itself as come out of the track. Doors were taken off so our painter could paint. And in the process the bracket came off the track.
What did you do?
worked well! thanks so much!
Great!!
You’re a genius! Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thank you for this video! So helpful
Glad it was a help.
I would appreciate your advice. I had to cut down about half an inch the door as it was too tall, the door is hollow inside and now about 2 months later the bottom pivot or screw that is holding the door from the bottom is collapsing and the door has fallen twice already. Is there any way how I could fix the door from the bottom? Thank you
Did you cut the top or bottom?
U saved my life! Thank you! 😅
You're welcome!
I called my dad (who literally specializes in this type of thing) and he told me to Google it. So thank you.
Lol! He didn't wanna come over to fix it huh?
@@stevekonbass Hahah I guess not! :))
Alright, haven't tried but just looking at him solving this, makes me think that maybe that is my problem. But I want to know why my thingys/sliding thing that can slide off track. Is brown?
you've saved my life! thank you so much
Glad to help.
Thank you. I was frustrated fixing this over 4 times changing everything and it was still sliding. This trick should do
Hope it works for ya.

Glad to help!
My teen has a small bedroom 10x10 with a refular small closet with two sliding doors..Will it be worth it to swap them for blindfold doors to maximize closet space or not really? And can I install them on existing track or do blindfold doors come with its own track system? Thank u
Hey Marco- Bi-Fold doors would make access easier than 2 sliding doors, but wouldn't really increase or maximize space, and the bi-fold doors come with their own hardware. If your teen doesn't have a lot of hanging clothes, you might want to consider adding wire shelving for more storage space and then install the bi-fold doors.
awesome video, really appreciate it
Thanks Joseph!
Great advise thanx
Super helpful! thanks !
Glad it was helpful!
Love this thank you!
You're welcome!
Thankyou mine is doing the same thing❤
You're welcome.
Hi what type of self tapping screw u used this? Im so sorry i have literally no idea like the size and length of that screw you used😅 please help thanks
A 2" self drilling screw would work best.
I just wanna be sure about the screw is it a self tapping screw or is it a self drilling screw?
I just want to be sure so I buy the right screws I need.
I used a self drilling screw, but you can probably get away with anything you have in your toolbox.
Thank you 😊
You're welcome 😊
Thank You!
You're welcome!
Oh thank you VERY much!
You're welcome!
Thanks, Steve
You're welcome Aiman.
Great video your my my virtual handyman😁
Awesome! Glad to be your virtual handyman!
Thanks man 👌
Awesome
What if the silver thing next to the screw you put in game out of the track? Mine came off and I’m trying to fix it. How can I put it in the track again?
There's a little groove that it sits in so it should slide in the groove. Look to see if that groove is bent if you can't get it to slide in.
Thank you!!!!
Thank you very helpful
Glad to hear it.
thank you!
You're welcome!
Thank you so much!
You're welcome!
Ty,made it very easy
Awesome!
Thanks Steve!!
You're welcome Gerald.
great video!
Thanks!.
This was my guess to fix it, but i wanted to youtube it. Im going to go do it now, thank you.
Hope it works for ya.
My bifold has a hexagon screw, and I think my ceiling slopes downward. I’ve tried tightening screws but door still comes unhinged. Any other tips?
You have to determine where the problem is. In my case, the track was warped so driving a screw in at the top acted as a stop and prevented the door from sliding over. You can try that. Your door also might need to be raised. If that's the case, you'll need someone to lift the door a bit while you adjust the screw at the floor that adjusts the height of the door.
@@stevekonbass thank you. I’ll try fixing from the floor since the hinge at the top isn’t moving and is on solid.
Thanks boss
Welcome
Thanks.. today is the day that I get around to it...
LOL, it only took me a year to get around to it and do that 30 second fix.
Thank you!!!😁
You're welcome Eileen.
Thank you!
You're welcome Pat.
Thanks for the tip, save me money and a trip to Home Depot.
Awesome! Always glad to hear that I helped people save a buck.
Hi How to I stop my door from sliding open on its own, after I close it? It won't stay closed
That's odd. Sounds like it might not be hung right or it might be too tight when you close it causing it to pop back open. You could try to realign it and make a minor adjustment to the top or bottom fixed corner.
@@stevekonbass the maintenance guy took the door off when they put new carpet down and shaved off the bottom of the door in order to open the door and not have it drag the carpet when opening and closing it. Now the door slowly slides back open on its own. It’s like they shaved it too high or something.
Thank you
You're welcome!
THAAAANNNKKK YOOOOUUUU!!!!
You're welcome!!
Thanks!!
No problem!
Thank you thank you thank you!
You're welcome!!
What kind if screw u put?
Any self drilling screw will do. Ya just need it to act as a stop.
