- What!! Another one. This is the last one. This is by F4 Customs and I love this windshield already. It is a bit expensive but I like it better than the MadStad shield, and to me it is worth the extra dough.

Man, I'm on my third windshield, OEM, CalSci, now Madstad. Now you got me thinking again Lol. I do love the madstad but I think the medium smoke version is too dark and I find it a pain in the ass to disconnect quickly (the bolt has to get backed out otherwise its too hard to remove the quick disconnects) and of course you have to re-adjust every time you want to get into the frunk. I normally run around town without the windshield but on long trips I opt for wind protection. Really enjoy your videos and honest takes on things, I've had my Ryker for just over a year now and ride the hell out of it, about to hit 12k on it.
Wow Vito 12k in one year, you’re definitely a hardcore rider 👍🏼. I noticed that in the madstad as well where in order to take the windshield off I had to loosen one side. But I am really enjoying this F4 customs. It is the best in my opinion. Thanks for watching.

They sure are excellent. And the windshield is great. Just did a trip to miami and back and the windshield made it possible to avoid fatigue.
Well I finally got my F4 Customs windshield today. I ordered it on Aug 17th, but because of Covid-19, the factory was way behind. When it didn't come by the 31st, I called F4 and spoke with a CSR. He told me he was waiting to hear back from the manufacture, took my number and said he's call me as soon as he heard something.
He called back about 15 minutes later and told me the factory was moving me to the head of the waiting list and would send the windshield itself directly to me. He said he would send the hardware directly to me but I would have to attach the mounting bracket to the windshield myself.
Today, 09/09/2020, I was leaving the house to take care of some business. I planned to call the F4 CSR back later today to find out the latest status on my windshield. When I opened my front door, lo and behold, there were 2 packages sitting there. The shape of one immediately told me it was the windshield. The other was the mounting bracket and hardware.
As expected I had to attach the hardware which I did. Then I tried mounting it to my Ryker, but there was not a lot of room to maneuver. Finally, I decided to detach the windshield, attach just the mounting bracket to the bike and reattach the windshield to the bracket. That worked a lot better and now all is good.
Kind of a long wait, but worth it. The F4 windshield is significantly larger then the BRP Sport windshield and offer a lot more protection from the wind. So I'm a happy camper now.
Greg I am so happy that you like the windshield. I am surprised that they took that long. I got mine within 3-4 days and the hardware was attached. I probably didn't mention in the video but it is easy to install if you attach the bottom part first and then slide the top part in to place. But anyways you have it and it is installed that is great news.
What do you think about the clarity? Isn't that great? Also it looks way too big at first but it actually looks pretty good on the Ryker and the protection is awesome. Appreciate you texting me an update. Enjoy it.
@@RideAboutNow The clarity is incredible. I took a pic of my Ryker with the BRP Sport shield and then with the F4. You could just barely see the outline of the F4

Funny I have been thinking of getting a new windshield, but sometimes I feel like I want to look above the windshield. This looks great!!
You know that is my preference as well but this shield is so optically correct that I don't mind seeing through it. To me it is definitely worth the $400 bucks.
I had an F4 on a Goldwing and loved it. I told you about the glove box on the Madstad. At the time F4 was not out when I purchased my Madstad. I would have gone with the F4. Thanks for the video. I know if you approve it must be good!
Thanks Harry. You did mention about the glove box and at the time I didn’t think it was going to be an issue but it was. This one is the best one out of all the ones Ive had.
Great video. Would you still suggest the 16 inch for someone that is 6 foot? Slingmods only shows one size.
Shane Harris thank you. You know I wouldn’t be able to speak to that. I am about 5/10 and a little higher I could probably feel a. It if air on top of my helmet. So I’m sure you would feel that air at 6ft tall but the width would surely help keep wind at a low off your shoulders and honestly there is no perfect solution. You can get a 20+ size windshield out there but I don’t think they look good. For the both form and function I like the F4 and just solely because it is made out of poly carb material.
I have the can am adventure windshield and hate it! I find myself looking above, below and around the windshield. Terrible view! Your view through this windshield looks awesome!

Agreed, the adventure windshield is garbage.
My madstad windshield was trimmed down at bottom by previous owner...all I need two do is slide it up and I’ve plenty room for me to open my front compartment

The only bigger windshield I had was the 18inch madstad one but in my opinion the F4 was the best.

Got a question for you..... I got that Action Mount for my Go Pro remote like you have. How the heck do you get the remote off that thing after you put it on? I'm stumped.....
Never mind, I figured it out. You have to press the black lever down to get the silver connection off the mount, then you can access and slide the button on the bottom of the remote to disconnect it from the silver connection. Kind of a screwy set up, but it will certainly hold the remote nice and securely.
Yeah it a bit difficult in the beginning but you have to press a button at the back so that means you have to take the Mount off the handle bars every time. It’s not perfect but the best one so far to mount the remote on to the bars.
can anyone tell me the width of the shield as I can't find it anywhere and want to compare the width to other options out there as I am 6'4" tall and concerned that the 16" height will be too low and cause too much head buffeting on the highway.
Just as an FYI I feel that being you are 6ft plus there might be head buffeting. The recurve makes it act like a 17 or 18 inch windshield and the width is wider than the Madstad ones. I am not near my bike but as soon as I am I will let you know the approx width.

Hey got a question about the windshield? You got Fb or insta? The windshield ended up cracking the bracket for the cluster on mine and only had it two days 🤷♂️ Have you had any issues??
No issues what so ever. Had mine for almost a year and all is well. The model I had was the 16 inch and ni other option.
Following up on the F4 Customs windshield on the video. Can you give me review on this windshield now for 7/26/2023? I am about to purchase and want to make sure that things are still good with windshield... Please.
I don't have the Can Am anymore, only kept it a year, but as long as I had it this F4 was the best windshield.
Hello Knight Ryker, I recently read about some of the 2019 and 2020 Rykers having an issue with split lug nuts causing the wheel to come loose. There is a recall for this problem. Check to see if it applies to yours. I like your videos and I ride a Kawasaki Z900rs . Stay Safe.
Marshall thank you and yes I checked online and even the dealer checked for the lug but recall and thankfully my bike is not on the list. I love the classic look of the z900rs. One of my fav heritage style bikes along with the triumph bikes. The Z900rs beats the Honda CB 1100 hands down.
Hello K.R., I used to ride the 1400 concours but I sold it. 700+ lbs. and top heavy was too much for an old man like me. Don’t get me wrong I still think the concours 14 is one of the best deals out there. Very fast and smooth. I often think of getting another one just for long trips only. I am 65 now and started watching can am videos because I was going to buy one for myself. The dealer chain was why I did not buy the spyder rt limited. I went to a Kawasaki dealer and purchased the 900rs Instead and like it a great deal. I have been riding since 1976. I am looking to purchase a nice example of the Kawasaki zrx1200r as a second bike. So even though I no longer am in the market for a can am I still watch and enjoy your videos. Best wishes.

I have been on the fence between the Madstad and the F4 Custom. The Madstad makes a higher windshield but F4 makes a wider one. Still somewhat undecided.
I have to tell you Greg I’m about 5’10” and I don’t feel any buffeting on my helmet. The recurve does magic where I can put my fingers behind the recurve and not feel any air hitting it!! The F4 shield is perfect for me. The wider shield helps with your arms and shoulders. Aesthetically they both look good but I really liked the F4 as you may have noticed. Lol. Plus the poly carbonate is much more durable than acrylic. Watch the video on the testing of the shield. Link in the description.
@@RideAboutNow Excellent video. Thanks to your video as well as the one from Joshua Morris, I pulled the trigger and ordered the F4 Customs windshield. It was more expensive then the Madstad, but I believe the added cost is off set by the advantages of the F4, so it's worth it. Can I ask how long it took for you to receive your windshield after ordering it? I have a big ride planned for the end of the month and I'm hoping it gets here in time. @@RideAboutNow Yea, I watched Law Abiding Biker's video as well. Though I don't really see myself smashing it with a hammer, driving over it with my pickup or using steel wool to clean the bugs off, it's nice to know I could. As far as how easy it is to remove and put back on, that's not even in the equation. I can't think of a situation where I would want to take a windshield, any windshield, off, once I put it on.
