Need For Speed 3: Hot Pursuit, was the first video game I ever played and the Diablo SV was our car of choice whenever we wanted to smoke the competition. The Lamborghini Diablo and Countach have a special place in my heart because I always loved driving the Diablo but always hated the AI opponent named Swerve who drove a Countach. Lots of nostalgia when I think back to those times. I can almost hear the track music coming on at the back of my head as the race starts.
This reminds me of the way that top gear used to do the lap times of celebrities they had on the show

Ferruccio was a Taurus and that's what inspired him to do this.
Miura: first of the bullfighting names. A breed of large, fierce bulls derived from another breed; Gallardo
Islero: a famous (Miura) bull that killed matador Manuel Rodriquez
Espada: named after the word for a matador's sword
Jarama: a fierce bull breed from the Jarama River area
Urraco: a smaller, but still fierce breed of black & white patterned bulls
Jalpa: another famous breed of fighting bulls
Diablo: one of the most famous bulls in bullfighting. Had an epic battle with El Chicorro in 1869. Also means "Devil" in Spanish.
Murciélago: another famous bull that was known for surviving 24 stabs and the crowd demanded the still-standing bull be spared for showing such strength
Gallardo: the famous breed that was the predecessor to the Miura breed
Reventón: a famous bull most known for killing famed matador Felix Guzman in 1943
Estoque: named after a special type of bullfighting sword
Aventador: a bull famous for earning the Trofeo de la Peña La Madroñera (for courage) in 1993
Urus: very large, wild breed of bulls. Died out in 1627.
Veneno: a bull known for being the fastest ever. Fatally wounded famed torero José Sánchez Rodríguez in 1914
Asterion: name of a mythical minotaur, a hybrid human/bull. Fitting for a hybrid car.
Hurácan: a bull famed for his attack and courage in Alicante, 1879. The engine was also called Cabrera, which is another famous bull.

The Aventador made the list of great Transformers cars. Was represented greatly in "Transformers: Age of Extinction". If a new Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, and Red Alert are needed, the Aventador is the perfect car to use for them.

I was fortunate enough to work for ACI (we were the first to obtain DOT and EPA compliance for the Countach) and drove a lot of these. Though it was a pile of crap, the Jalpa was a blast to drive. The Jarama was just bad, and the Miura was flighty at speed. But it was cool in all regards. The Countach was great to drive!

Great list. only surprises were the Diablo over the Countach, The Countach really is the first outright SUPERcar in my opinion, I had three on my wall, even that cool but odd white one with the wing on the front. And I would still put the SVJ number one with the Murc number 2. Ive seen all from the Countach up IRL and the SVJ just blew me the hell away. Maybe because it was on the highway next to me and not at a car show. Awesome episode guys.
Italian cars but spanish names with a few exceptions. So with spanish pronounciation rules J becomes H so Jarrama and Jalpa are pronounced Harrama and Halpa, the leading H in Huracán is silent so it is pronounced Uracán and the double L in Gallardo is pronounced Gajardo.
Miura, Urraco, Jalpa and Gallardo are fighting bull breeds. Islero, Diablo, Murciélago, Huracán and Aventador are names of famous fighting bulls.
Espada is spanish for sword and also nickname for the matador. Jarama is a region in Spain known for bullfighting. Countach is not in spanish nor italian but in Piedmontese (originally Cuntacc) and literally means Contagion but is used in the sense of "Holy Crap". Urus is the name of an extinct predecessor to todays modern bulls.
Countach is Piedmontese but it basically means "holy crap."
@@clarkbarrett6274 OK, that actually makes sense. I don't know Piedmontese I just got it from the designer Marcello Gandinis funny explanation about the name origin but it sure sounds more logic that the man would shout Holy Crap than Plague.

I've been a Lamborghini fanboy since I was a kid. Many Countach and Diablo posters on my bedroom walls back then. Drove a Gallardo on a track back in 2012. Still long for one. Or at least to drive one of the V-12 halo cars.
Ok, here's the Gandini version (there's also a different Balboni version). It's clear the real origin is unknown. But they all have the same basic theme. Someone saw the car, concept or wood form for the first time and said the name.

Regardless the Piedmontese word has no direct translation to English.

same here, its right behind the muira, countach and murci imo, still salty why the urus got ranked so high, hate it with every fibre of my being not because its a bad car but because its a bad lamborghini imo, feels way to tame to be a proper lambo, just couldn't capture the over the top feeling of the lm002 with its v12 that couldn't fit and military looks, hope they will someday make a true successor to the lm002 with a massive v12 and a proper offroad gearbox, along with looks that are more akin to the lm002

@@jaiii7788 The problem I have isn't that that it isn't an lm002/military car, its that it doesnt appeal to the inner child in me with its boring turbo v8 and automatic transmission, I mean if I want something exciting I might just take the trackhawk over it with its screaming supercharged v8, the urus just doesn't feel bonkers enough to be a good lamborghini, like at least give it the v10 from the huracan. To me the urus just feels like a dressed up audi rather than a lamborghini that makes an orgasmic sound and makes the child in me all giddy.

@@jaiii7788 not exactly oem is it, I mean if we're going aftermarket a ton of options come to mind, namely brabus 900 g63 vith its v12. I mean for the urus if you take away the outer shell what are you left with, a twin turbo v8 automatic suv platform shared with the audi, porsche and bentley, while if you take away the outer shell of the lm002 youre left with the heart of a countach and a fully capable offroad platform originally designed for the military. To me the issue is that lamborghinis used to be so awesome because they make absolutely no sense and feel like they're designed by a bunch of 12 year olds on crack, everyone of them was unique and had flaws but thats what made them so loveable. Now they just feel soulless, just another money printing machine.

I drove a Murcielago. The steering was sloppy, slow, and dead. It had the robo clutch, which bumped every time. The engine wasnt as powerful as I had expected, and sounded a bit gruff. But I loved it!
13:28 I'll have to heavily disagree with James' pronunciation, since gallardo is a word in Spanish and in Italian it is translated as galante. So I'm sorry to break it down to you but both Italians and James pronounce it wrong.

The Espada was named after the sword used by bull fighters. The sword is integrated into the name badge on the car.
Also. The Miura is ALWAYS the best Lamborghini for its engineering (first production mid-engine V12 even beating Ferrari to the punch) and its looks. It's the most beautiful Lambo.
Miura is one of the coolest and most raw car experiences out there. Definitely a number 1 spot
