AIRBUS BELUGA XL LANDING and Departure - THE FLYING WHALE (4K)

This Airbus Beluga XL is an impressive airplane and it` s always hard to believe that this thing can actually fly. Originally this plane used to be a normal Airbus A330 until Airbus rebuilt it to a Beluga aircraft. They are mainly flying airbus parts around for new planes. When I visited Hamburg Finkenwerder last month I saw a few classic Belugas and the XL Versions. You can see both of them in this video. Due to its nickname "Whale" they also painted two cute looking whale eyes on the fueslage.
If you are interesting in seeing these rare and weird planes there are just a few airports in Europe where they can be seen. Hamburg, Bremen, Toulouse and Chester for example. Once a year I drive to Hamburg Finkenwerder to film a few new Airbus A321 / A320 neos and some Belugas in action. It` s aways a nice trip and worth a visit.

Well, the weights (empty and total) are actually not that different from a regular A330, MTOW is actually lower for the Beluga XL. This thing is specialised in moving extremely big items, not so much extra-heavy payload.

Great video i must say.Come to think of it now it is the new competitor of the Dreamlifter and also it is made from tha A330 imagine if it was powered by PW4000.Then it would be two different planes competing but with the same engines as the LCF is powered by PW4000s. I see this video also features the original beluga. If you look closely at the beluga then the BelugaXL you can see the difference in size. Or you can easily look at the engines or hear the sounds from them .This video is 10 of 5
