TOP 10 HARD LANDINGS - AIRBUS A380, BOEING 747, ANTONOV AN124 ... (HD)

  • Within the past 8 years I filmed a few hard landings of different airplane types. In todays TOP 10 video I sumed up the heaviest landings I have ever filmed. Two of these landings were performed by Boeing 747` s at Maastricht airport. Don` t know what` s going on with the runway at Maastricht but I have seen a few hard landings at the small airport in the Netherlands. Maybe it` s the small humb near the touchdown area which makes the flare a little unpredictable.
    Some of these hard landings were also caused by the lack of flare in general. Check out the Airbus A321 of British which looked like the runway was just in its way during its flight. There was no flare at all.
    Let me know which of these landings was the hardest in your opinion. Thanks for watching, new videos every tuesday and friday.

    High Kudos to the Dash 8 and A380 pilots who showed great skill landing in the crosswinds. The An124 was probably the hardest landing - but it is the biggest plane on the video. Although the AN124 did have a big bounce all the landings were not all that bad - a testament to the pilot skills in harsh conditions.

    • @janklas7079
      @janklas7079 Před rokem +1

      The Pilot in the dash is a moron. The AN124 was also pilot error. Watch the elevators. Although, once you get below a flying speed, it makes sense to input full up, if you do this while the plane is still capable of flying, you get this.

      PLANE MANIA I don’t think the a380 one is good. If you see just before the touchdown, the Pilot makes the rudder turn left. Normally a pilot would use the rudder just after the plane lands. But this pilot didn’t, and because he used the rudder at final the plane drifted to the left then right.

      @kedapofeng8993 Před 4 lety

      The pilot will only have the plane land itself if the visibility is so bad that you can’t even see the runway from like 50 feet away - that is called a category III ILS where the decision height/minimums is at 50 feet. These look like cat II conditions - a pilot could still use autoland in these conditions(and in good visibility and if the plane and runway are cat III capable/certified)but would most likely choose not to because most pilots enjoy the challenge of a good crosswind landing

    • @simonm1447
      @simonm1447 Před 4 lety +1

      It seems Antonov was too fast, normally aircraft are not bumping like this. The wings still generated too much lift, so the main gear lifted off the runway again, while the nose gear remained on ground. Such a landing happens if a aircraft is to fast and mainly pushed down to the runway by the elevators.

      haha glad you had a nice experience, but please don't build brand loyalty based off of falling in love for the common thing they do. xD Maybe a different carrier will give you an even better experience.
      From my experience, the differences are largely procedural and fees. Some airlines give better food or snacks, but even then it seems to be plane-dependent. So.. I guess to say, don't get attached to one, 'cause they're all competing to offer the same thing. In the end, that means no matter the carrier, you _generally_ get the same experience for the same price.

      @@TH33QUALIZ3R it very looks like the entirety of the plane's weight was compensated by the lift generated by those massive flaps (look at how the elevator is pushed down). He was going a bit too fast and had to pull down because the flaps were making the plane "balloon" over the runway. Of course this isn't the right way but the landing gear will take way much more than that.
