- I've seen a version of this that was someone filming their phone screen so I just edited this together from a version that had them all separated as episodes, as that's how Quibi formatted it on their platform.
Mostly unaltered, a few episodes had little "next time" snippets that I cut out to make it more cohesive. Thinking about editing together a version that's vertical for better mobile compatibility (since that's how it's filmed), and moving all the bloopers to the very end of the video instead of at the beginning of each episode.
EDIT: I've actually finally made this version, you can watch it here: • The Princess Bride Hom...
I don't own the rights to this nor am I making money off this, I just enjoyed this movie and since Quibi is game ended I decided to try to archive a HQ version. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
Rainn Wilson, Pedro Pascal, and Jason Segal the trio I never knew I needed
We riot if they are not cast as the three “bandits” in any remake haha. Seriously they were perfection. Nick Kroll was pretty great too. 😂💜✨
Honestly, if Segel had the look, I'd be sold, but I think Shaq just about has the chops for this. (After all, Andre was a wrestler. Why not a basketballer? 🙂)
I honestly can't choose between Rainn or Patton for the role of Vizzini.
Love seeing Pascal as Inigo but after how he went in GoT how do you not have him do 'You killed my father; prepare to die"?
every pair is a couple you never knew you needed
This is the only "remake" I will accept of a perfect movie. It is made with so much love and respect from every person involved that after half an hour, you forget you're not watching the original.
Agree, except for Finn Wolfhard.
It's beautiful. I didn't intended to watch as much of it as I did in one sitting, but it's just wonderful even in such a silly format. I shed a tear out of nostalgia, joy, and genuine laughter. I can't believe I just stumbled upon this gem.
The tune at the end is sung by Willy Deville from the band Mink Deville. He has passed on. His music will be with me til I pass. Stay safe. Cathy, as you wish. xox
What about the Shrek remake?
@@augustusmilligan9244Why not finn?
Since the invention of the remake, there have only been five remakes that were rated the most passionate, the most pure. This one left them all behind.
Diego Luna: Ok but like I'm going to actually go hard here and treat this like an audition for the movie because I'm literally perfect for this role.
Elijah Wood and Andy Serkis: That's cute - but we've already been in a fantasy epic and will just casually crush our roles too.
Oscar-winning Javier and Emmy-winning Bryan: That's cute - but our casual crushing of our roles will casually crush you crushing your roles.
Paul Rudd: That's cute. Hold my beer while I casually crush this impression of the original guy acting ACROSS from the original guy... who is also crushing it!
Charlize Theron: Hold all of your beers...
Rob and Carl: Forget your beer, give us your tears.
Paul Rudd doing a Cary Elwes impression opposite Cary Elwes is perfection.
It's almost as good as Daniel Ratcliffe playing "Weird Al" Yankovic throwing a demo tape to Al Yankovic playing a producer!
The funniest thing about that for me was that Cary still gives me major Wesley vibes playing Humperdink in that scene: "I don't think I'm quite familiar with that phrase".
It was EPIC… among so many performances in this beautiful tribute.❤❤❤🎉
Paul Rudd maintaining eye contact and not blinking was fantastic, too.
1:03:04 took me forever lol a time tag would've been nice xD
Jason Segel impersonating André the Giant is so good. He’s got his accent and his voice.
So true. I can't believe how well he was able to mimic that voice.
Right?!?!?
is it him? I have spent so long rewatching to see if is a dub.
@@TheMitchellExpress think so, he’s done the impression before

I know right? I had to google to see if they were related but nope.
Crazy that they were also in Blade Runner 2049 together
Rain Wilson as Vizzini, Jason Segal as Fezek, and Pedro Pascal as Inigo is the casting I didn't know I needed in my life
I was looking for this comment
It's criminal how unironically fitting they were in the roles.
Right!? My heart has never felt so full. Lol. Can we also give an honorable mention to J.K. Simmons, as grandpa? I mean,...*chef's kiss*.
soon we can deepfake the cast we like :)
PEDRO PASCAL IS IN THIS?!?
( I just started watching btw )
DELIGHTFUL! Anyone else just stumble on this, start watching out of curiosity, and get sucked in for the next hour?
Yep.
Sooo glad this popped up in my feed. This is my all time favorite movie. This was a perfect tribute.
I’m here right now . Got about 15 minutes to go. I’ve laughed, gotten chills when Javier killed the 6 fingered man. Probably get weepy at the end . Stand by
Yep. This is fantastic!
@Riley Garraway They clearly all had fun doing this, and they all did such an amazing job! If someone asked me to act out scenes from this movie I would have a blast too.

I choose to accept this as proof that the most common sword in any given home is a lightsaber
I'd say that the humble cardboard tube out strips lightsabers in quantity, if nothing else. 🤭
I love the tonal whiplash of Javier Bardem and Bryan Cranston giving oscar-worthy performances followed by Paul Rudd in a wig.
Paul Rudd in a wig also giving an Oscar-worthy performance, and dollying in the camera on himself.
Also Javier Bardem changing out his pretend sword in every other shot, from baguette, to feather duster, to candle stick, and on - and then his dead serious performance,, talk about tonal whiplash 😄
Never heard of this Javier fellow before but he almost matched Mandy Patinkin, and he was screamign at the cancer which did kill his father.

Frodo and Gollum talking about killing Buttercup was something I never knew I needed.
Wow, I didn’t make the connection. Thanks.
majestic
I always forget that Andy Sirkus has a buttery smooth voice. Elijah Wood is just... charmingly evil. What a good little scene that was.
"Unemployed in Greenland" was masterfully acted. Perfect recreation.
What I really like about Cary Elwes' performance is how carefully he matched Chris Sarandon's. He'd probably done that scene enough times to know every single movement Chris made.
Paul's impression of Wesley was perfect
His little cape tuck was absolutely perfect - straight from the movie and just as goofy and funny as the original.
It blows me away that despite distinct effort to make this cheesy and campy and silly it was hysterical and engaging and the final Father son scene had me weeping. Wow!
Me too! Weeping! It was so touching.
I cried at the end too. OMG, wasn't expecting that.
SAME! I was NOT expecting that.
Same 🥹
I'm glad that I wasn't the only one who thought the ending with the Reiner's was weep worthy.
Adam Sandler doesn't really sound like Peter Falk, but he got the speech patterns and physical mannerisms perfectly. 💯
Agreed. He did a fantastic job!
Omg 😆. Adam Sandler as the grandpa
Adam Sandler sounds like Al Pacino
Sounds like Al Pacino
Jon Hamm handing Patton Oswalt a Sharpie like "Sniff this" has me dead
Notice the Hamm's beer logotype on the glass given to Vizzini by Mr. Hamm? "You've given everything away!"
I feel like Jennifer Garner pretty much captured the insanity we all felt during lock down. Including creating a social gathering with your kids stuffed animals.
Javier's magnificent acting while he uses a tennis racket as a sword is priceless.
Hugh Jackman using a bamboo steamer as a crown made me laugh for about five minutes. And Pedro's shorts with the cowboy boots! This is the best thing I've seen ever.
I thought those were silk boxers lol
And was he at an Aussie beach or something?
I loved when people included their kids and dogs❤️
Pedro's bold strut while wearing those shorts had me laughing til I cried.
@jennymunday7913 I didn't even notice that until i watched it again and i died laughing 😂
Okay but Rainn Wilson as Vizzini is GREAT casting
Yes!!
Rainn Wilson acted like he was being paid a million dollars. My dude did not hold back.
Gonna vote Patton Oswalt. He has more of a toad vibe.
Mackenzie Davis being Robin Wright's Buttercup is such a good idea. It's uncanny how similar they are.
I thought it WAS Robin Wright!
I loved both of them in Bladerunner!
My favorite actress!
I actually liked Mckenna Grace as Fred Savage
Hell, Nick Kroll too. Davis DID look Like Robin Wright Penn
Jennifer Garner's "The Ancient Booer" was absolutely fantastic.
Why is it so satisfying to see Fred Savage deliver the lines with the same expressions?
SO SATISFYING!! I loved it with my whole heart unironically
@@zararobnett8284 me too! It's just so awesome!
Because CHILDHOOD
Javier Bardem using different props for his sword, including a baguette. Perfection.
I think he used HP sauce for blood
The silly props contrasted with his very serious performance...comedy gold
He got the best line in the movie had to make an effort
😂😂 Yes, his scenes were amazing! The amount of fake chest hair he had coming out from his shirt 😅😅
haha literally! everytime it was something different as well
That was, by far, the best remake of anything I have ever seen.
The love for the original was evident in every scene and everyone involved absolutely nailed it.
I can 1000% see myself watching this again.

Okay but Diego Luna legit giving me chills as Inigo Montoya. This isn't a game to him, it's an audition for the remake
Honestly can't decide between him, Pedro Pascal, or Javier Bardem. They were so perfect in their own way!
This genuinely makes me half want a remake
I vote Diego
FFS not another cheap remake of a legendary movie. Luna is a bloody good actor though.
I gotta agree! Not Pedro Pascal is my first choice tho- Luna is my second.
Jack Black climbing the stairs like Po, had me dead lol.
Javier Bardem's sword gags were my favorite part of this. Cary Elwes showing up made me almost cry with delight.
How is this not more popular? They did an absolutely fantastic job.
Quibi was a short lived broadcasting service spearheaded by Jeffrey Katzenberg, which failed to capture an audience with its high production but bite size videos.
Many speculate part of the problem is that rather than make smaller contained videos, they merely cut up larger ones.
This might be the single best piece of art produced by the pandemic.
And the collection of adult men wielding lightsabers is truly stupendous.
And the, "Drop your sword" line was great with him holding a pair of scissors.
Paul Rudd zooming in with his own fingers killed me 😂
And then zooming out

Some of these are almost like auditions.
The only way I would except a remake of this is if it’s Fred Savage reading the story to his kid and we get to see how they’re imagining it.
Or Muppets.
Fred Savage reading it to his grandson....while MUPPETS do the story.
@amyhull754 Muppets are the only remake I will accept. And even that is contingent upon them involving Elwes and Patinkin somehow. Also Robin.
Didn't expect Adam Sandler, Elijah Wood, Shaq, Jack Black, Finn Wolfhard, Dave Bautista, David Spade, Neil Patrick Harris, Joe Jonas, Jenna Ortega, Keegan, Seth Rogan, Taika Waititi, Bryan Cranston, Paul Rudd, Nick Kroll, and many other celebrities recreate the princess bride but honestly? love it.

So many absolute legends in this. And, of course, Brain Cranston's brief stint as Rugen was FLAWLESS.

Rainn Wilson as Vizzini is the most perfectly casted role🤣
Why doesn't that man have more roles?!
Idk, Patton Oswalt did exceptionally well.
I'm less than a minute in and seeing Fred Savage reprise his role decades later, making the same faces he did as a kid. i'm already welling up. That is just unbelievably delightful.
I can't believe this remake wasn't nominated. I mean, like, the leggo dolls surely deserved an award... lol!! Is so awesome how they all came together for a cause.

Hugh Jackman as Prince Humperdink was a great touch. his costume was very creative🤣
This whole process tells you a lot about acting types and actors playing into their strengths
It also tells you that there's nothing more instantly entertaining than a movie where _every single line_ is memorable and amusing all by itself. Flawless writing. If only more productions would keep that in mind, without the writing you have *nothing.* and with it, you have everything. a bunch of people in their houses with their phones can pull it off.
Some of these folks did absolutely amazing. Others didn't get that they're second to the original
Javier Bardem saying the greatest line in movie history gave me chills!
HOW DID I EVER MISS THIS?! This is among the most amazing things I’ve ever seen. I love how so many people out there, actors from all walks and stages and celebritydom, revere and adore The Princess Bride. It really is one of the greatest movies of all time.
I'm just seeing this now too!! And I watched a lot of CZcams during the pandemic

You missed it because it was on Quibi, a streaming platform that was a huge flop
Too many "OMG, that's hysterical" moments to count, but so far my favorite is Patton as Vizzini. The Battle Of Wits is priceless.
This came up in my recommendations. How could I say no to the Princess Bride? Was cheering when Cary Elwes played the villain and got a little teary when I saw Carl and Rob Reiner. THIS WAS FABULOUSLY WELL DONE!
Patton did a perfect Vizzini. I LOVED all of it!
I can not see anyone doing the battle of wits better than Patton. A joy to watch.
Yeah, he nailed it!
Okay, at first when I saw Jason Segel for Fezzik I was skeptical right until I heard the impression. It is very hard to do an accurate Fezzik impression! Props to him for nailing it.
Oh. It’s practically impossible. I really thought they were using Andres voice at first
Mike O' Gorman does a flawless one on Pete Holmes podcast (You Made It Weird)
Yeah, I was not sure if it was voice over or not a couple of times!
This still works a treat post-pandemic.
And the weirdest thing; I haven't even gotten around to seeing the original yet, and despite that they had me hooked for this. Such a cute and heartwarming thing to do - and the ending teared me up. Now off to see the original...
This entire thing brought me a renewed joy i havent had in some time. Thank you to everyone involved.
This comment section has pretty much listed the standout performances...i e. all of them. Id just like to list a few honorable mentions:
1. Sam Rockwell and Leslie Bibb, Bravo
2. Neil Patrick and that wig adjustment 😂
3. Oyelowo and the Golf cart 😂😂
4. J.K. being fabulously J.K.
5. Rudd's camera work and Cary's wonderful embodiment of that terribe "douche-canoe", Humpher-stink, Lol.
I just about lost it when Malkovich said “Mawwiage”.

Some of these are genuinely great castings. Almost makes me WANT a remake for once.
This is better than any remake could be 😂
This works because it’s a tribute to the original.
The only remake that could work would behave to avoid live action. But I f it was done in plasticine or puppets, with voices as per the original, that could possibly work
Heretic
words cannot describe how much I love this... taika waititi as fresh-from-the-dead westley & penenlope cruz as humperdink had me weak!! not to mention the many fabulous dogs that stole the show and those wonderful lego scenes. aghh everyone was purely delightful from start to finish
John Hamm using Hamm's Beer glasses is something I missed on my first watch (24:40). Love it! Also, Patton and John absolutely killed one of my favorite scenes of all time. :)
I'm not ashamed to say that the ending made me a little weepy. RIP Carl, and thank you so much.

I believe the Quibi broadcast of this was the absolute last thing that Carl Reiner gave us. It was a sweet note for him to go out on and I'm so glad his son Rob got him to pitch in.
I couldn’t stop smiling. I’ve been quoting that movie for three decades and it’s nice to know I’m not the only one. And for a good cause, bravo!

This could be viewed as the best audition/casting call from a remake of a classic film that the public has ever had the privilege to witness. You get so many choices of who your favourite cast members to pick from.
I didn't realize Diego Luna was in this when I watched it during the pandemic, but now I'm a huge Andor fan so I was super stoked to see him here and rewatch!
I love how this was made during Covid, which is why very few of the actors are in the same place, yet it still works! Literally the best thing to come out of Covid.
Inside and Folklore are both strong contenders for "best thing to come out of COVID" but this is a solid third place.
JACK BLACK WAS AMAZING! He always pulls off any role he gets with his own spin🤣🤣🤣
I was cringing on the low rent cheeseyness of the whole thing then Adam Sandler sat down and started describing the book and my heart was hooked just as I was when seeing this movie in theaters as a child.
I'm only sad they didn't include "I'm on the brute squad." "You ARE the brute squad."
Jason Segel, Pedro Pascal, and Rainn Wilson really knocked it out of the park. Instead of making it their own, they went for respectful replication, and they are accurate AF. It’s really hard to do a convincing Wallace Shawn!
The final scene of Rob & Carl made me almost cry !!! OMG This Was Great ! Time WellSpent !!!
That was the perfect and sweetest ending!😭
This put a smile on my face for an hour straight. Everyone seems to be having a blast and that feeling is so contagious.
8:57 From certain angles MacKenzie Davis is a dead ringer for a young Robin Wright.
23:12 Patton Oswalt wins the MVP. Lmao! 🤣
40:28 Jennifer Garner looked like she was having fun.
100% agree on Mackenzie, for a split second I thought it was just the original footage or maybe something like her daughter playing the part.
Patton was perfect. He would be. He's a huge nerd and I say that as a compliment! 😊
My only complaint from Oswalt was the laugh, he goes from laughing to coughing and spluttering whereas the original goes from laughing then just stops and dies
The love for The Princess Bride stretches far and wide and it's lovely to see. I have to say that I think there are some amazing impressions going on in this, with some that are surprising (Brandon Routh and Paul Rudd were uncanny Carys and Ari Graynor is simply Carol Kane reborn) and others that are just delightful to see (who wouldn't crack a smile at the Reiners playing grandson and grandad at the end?). But even in a loving pastiche like this in which everyone is playing it fairly tongue in cheek, the actor cameo that steals the show is Bryan Cranston. He makes a simple impression of Christopher Guest into something next level amazing. The line delivery is right on. Anyway, great video!
1) Rannin Wilson nailed Vizzini
2) This is better than any Disney Live Action Remake
3) This is the biggest silver lining to come from the pandemic
I loved each and every person and the job they did. All the family members and friends were fantastic. A special shout out to the person or people who created the Lego scenes.
The true stars of this were all the family members, especially the kids, and Tom Lennon's outfit....
The fight scene between Ruegan and Inigo is great, especially since Inigo's sword keeps changing.
